French duo Daddy & Hypa’s (D&H) latest mix-tape, ‘The Remix Godz’ is a refreshing departure from what has become the norm within that field. The duo have uncompromisingly remixed songs on hip-hop, dancehall and reggae beats without dropping the tempo once throughout the entire mix, it is energy filled from start to finish.
Hosts Konshens and Delus keep the tracks bouncing with a steady influx of dub plates. Delus’ ‘Gangsta Remix’, which has become an underground hit and Konshens’ ‘Winner Remix’ adds flavor to the mix. Konshens and Delus who's also known has the duo Sojah - introduction track is ‘crazy’, with Delus certifying his stamp of approval for D&H’s remixing capabilities: ‘dem remix any mada f**king beat… remix u body parts an put u hands were u had ur feet’.
While the cd has tracks from dancehall heavy weights Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Mr Vegas and Bounty Killer, D&H make room for upcoming artists such as female singer Misselie and Dj Chukki Starr who represent themselves well.
D&H’s ‘Remix Godz’ has raised the bar significantly in the remix game and it will force others to put out their best. With this release, they can justly call them self ‘the remix godz’.
