Serani gets HOT with Skip to My Luu
Serani's career continues on an upward path as his dancefloor smash "Skip to My Luu," featuring Ding Dong and Razz n Biggy, has been added to daytime rotation on America's #1 radio station HOT 97 in New York.
Its a phenomenal feat for Serani as its his third single to get added to mainstream daytime radio in the US in the last 2 years, following on from the Billboard-charting No Games and She Loves Me.
"it really is all about hard work," said Serani. "I've been putting in the groundwork over the last two years, constantly being out there on the road. We've been working Skip for a while at radio and now its paying off. HOT 97 always shows Reggae and Dancehall a lot of love and kudos to them for introducing Dancehall records to the mainstream."
Skip to My Luu is a fun track based off the dance of the same name that was #1 in Jamaica earlier this year and still a staple at dances across the globe. It crossed into American clubs over the last couple of months and was then picked up by US radio. Skip to My Luu was produced by top tier production trio DASECA.

"It's tough out there but we are remaining positive and focused on developing Serani as an artist and a brand," said Julian Jones-Griffith, Serani's manager, in the aftermath of shifting a little over 1100 units first week of his debut album, No Games. "We are lucky that we have venture partners who believe in Serani, will stay the course and roll out a third single. They share our vision of artist development and breaking him in new markets. When you think, how far Serani has come in terms of profile and mainstream airplay in under 2 years as an artist it's a phenomenal achievement and hes out-paced many acts who have been on the scene for years. We're closing in on 100,000 single downloads overall since we rolled out, which is huge, and I'm confident we will get where we want to go."

Making a hit song is about more than writing a great song with great melodies over a great beat. As a hit-making producer and musician (Sean Paul’s We Be Burning, Matterhorn’s Dutty Whine, Beenie’s Back it Up and much more) Serani understands the importance of a top quality mix. Once a song is recorded in the studio it is handed over to a mix engineer, also referred to as "mixer", who creates what's called the "final mix" or "mixdown" of a song. The mixer takes all the elements that have been recorded and mixes them together with the aim of achieving a good balance of the instruments and vocal volumes, by tweaking the relative volume and frequency content of all the sounds.
