Sean Paul Drops 'Got 2 Luv U' Video Featuring Alexis Jordan

sean_paul_Alexis_Jordan_reggae.jpg(RTTNews) - Sean Paul has released a video for his new single "Got 2 Luv U," a dancehall-flavored, fist-pumping summer anthem that features vocal help from Roc Nation artist Alexis Jordan.

The video, along with artwork for the single, can be seen at Paul's official website.

"Got 2 Luv U" will appear on Sean's upcoming fifth studio release, which will drop sometime toward the end of the year via Atlantic Records. It will be the popular reggae artist's first release since 2009's Imperial Blaze, which debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Top Rap Albums chart.

Imperial Blaze also made its way up to No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart, despite the fact the album's singles ("Hold My Hand," "So Fine," "Press It Up") underperformed on the charts.

Fans disagreed with Sean Paul winning the MOBO Award

By Krazy Katty
OutAroad.com Writer

Sean-paul-jamaican-artiste.jpgSean Paul walking away with MOBO award for Best Reggae Album has left many persons upset saying that it's impossible that he won the award especially his album was recently released in summer.

Sean Paul surprisingly beat out Serani, Movado, Taurus Riley and the lyrical genius Vybz Kartel to make it his second time winning the prestigious MOBO award.

According to Marvin Sparks from BlogSpot.com, "you give this to Sean Paul? Been inactive for 3 years (same length since we had a Reggae artist), released one dead song (which didn't sound Reggae to me but still), 'bout to release another dry song, yet you bless him with a MOBO? Is that how cheap a MOBO award is?

"That was Serani's award. Can't we go back to when you helped buss songs to the mainstream? Without MOBO I doubt Beenie Man's Who Am I, Mr Vegas' Heads High or Sean Paul's Gimme Di Light would have charted so high (Beenie top 10, think other 2 were top 20), Serani deserved that award."

Sean Paul - First Jamaican artiste to top Billboard Rap Album Charts

seanpaul-imperial-blaze.jpgSean Paul might be in Switzerland, but that won't stop his fourth studio album, Imperial Blaze from continuing to blaze fire on the Billboard charts in the US. The album, his first in four years, has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Rap Album charts, toppling the likes of Eminem, Fabolous and Twista to top the charts.

Sean Paul is also sitting comfortably atop the Billboard Reggae Album Charts, ahead of a Bob Marley compilation, Ziggy Marley's Family Time, and VP Record's Reggae Gold.

This is his first time atop the rap album charts, and his second time on the Billboard Rap Album charts overall as his third studio album, The Trinity, peaked at #3 on the rap charts in 2005. It is also the first time a Jamaican artiste is topping that chart.

Reggae star Sean Paul pays surprise visit to youth summer basketball camp

sean-paul-1.jpgMONTREAL - At first, Tiffany Lussier brushed it off when she heard rumours reggae mega-star Sean Paul would make a surprise visit to her summer basketball camp.

The 11-year-old broke out in tears of joy Wednesday when Paul showed up and she was asked to sing with the Grammy Award-winning artist in front of her fellow campers.

"When the people said he would come, I thought it wasn't true and they were just joking. . . I never thought in my life that I would see him," Lussier said.

Paul dropped by to offer advice about life to several hundred campers who listened intently while sitting on the huge gymnasium floor at Montreal's Dawson College.

"There are ups and downs in life, just like waves in the sea," he said.

"When you're up on top you're feeling good, but that's not the only feeling you need to get used to in your heart, in your brain, in your soul."

The 35-year-old Jamaican, who won a Grammy in 2004 for his reggae album Dutty Rock, told the youngsters that being down is sometimes a part of life.

"Learn how to swim. . . so you can reach back up to the top," he said.

As he left to prepare for a concert, Paul told reporters he loves to talk to kids.

"There are so many negative things, so where I can, I encourage good stuff like summer camp," he said.

"Kids learning how to control their bodies and control their minds is good stuff."

The summer camp teaches children, aged six to 18 years, the fundamentals of basketball.

It also teaches life skills to marginalized young people from different social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

The basketball "academy" was created in 1992 by Trevor Williams, a former basketball player on the Canadian Olympic team.
