busy_signal_jamaicanartiste_photos.jpg

Lyricist of the year for 2007 Busy Signal is still the ruler of the #1 position on the OutAroad.com Top 20 Hot Singles Chart with his blazing hit single ‘Pon Di Edge’. The single is enjoying its fourth week of success in the #1 spot, but the questions is can Busy Signal’s ‘Pon Di Edge’ maintain its dominance over Mavado’s ‘Gangsta Life’?

Once again Beenie Man’s ‘Wine Gal’ is the Greatest Gainer for this week. This single is a favourite among the female audience which seems to be making its way into the #1 position within the next few weeks.

Queen Ifrica dominates the Hype TV Top 20 Charts for a second week

queen_ifrica_emeawards.jpgThe Fire Woman continues to blaze up the chart. Queen Ifrica's "Daddy Don't Touch Me There" is still at the # 1 Position for two consecutive weeks. Her presence continues to be strongly felt in the dancehall fraternity with all her songs being hits after hits.

Erup's "Click My Finger" retains the 'Shot to Watch' title for three consecutive weeks. The song also remains in the # 2 Position. The song is on the Truck Back label and continues to do well, but will this song extinguish the Queens fire any time soon?

Other songs doing well on the "Truck Back" label are Spice's "Up Inna De Light" at the # 11 Position and Deva Brat's "Gussie Clark" at the # 16 Position.

Sean Paul's "Pick It Up & Drop It" rose one spot up to assume the # 3 Position. Mr. Temperature seems to be heating up and preparing for the top.

'The Greatest Gainer' this week is Serani feat. Bugle's "DOH" this song is definitely a hit as it rose five spots up from the #12 position to occupy the # 7 Position. This song is expected to do well on the chart but things are not always what we expect, so let's see how far this song can truly go.

Queen Ifrica's 'Daddy Don't Touch Me There' - First #1by a female for 2008

queen-ifrica_photos_reggae.jpg

The Queen strike again and there is a new top song. Queen Ifrica's "Daddy Don't Touch Me There" rose to the # 1 Position on the Hype TV Top 20 Singles Chart. She is the first female to top the chart for 2008. The song replaced Demarco's "Fallen Soldiers" which fell to the # 3 Position after four weeks at the top.

Erup's "Click My Finger" as retained the 'Shot to Watch' title again this week. It moved two spot up to the # 2 Position. Let's see if Queen Ifrica can hold back this song from the top spot.

'The Greatest Gainer' this week is still Sean Paul's "Pick It Up & Drop It" The song moved three spot up from the # 7 position to assume # 4 Position. It seems as if Erup might not even get a chance to shine if Sean Paul continues to steal the greatest gainer titles.

Having two 'New Entries' seems to be the norm for 2008 with the chart. There are two New Entries again this week. The first new entry at the # 18 Position is Courtney Melody's "Just likeThe Rain". The other new entry is RDX's "Everybody Dance", this song makes its debut at the # 20 Position.

Demarco's Fallen Soldiers holding down 1# spot on Hype TV Top 20 Singles Chart

demarco_fallensoldiers_jamaicanpictures.jpgDemarco's "Fallen Soldiers" ruled the month of January as it is in the # 1 position for fourth consecutive weeks. This is quite an accomplishment and a great start for him for the New Year. Well done Mr. Demarco!!

Queen Ifrica's "Daddy Don't Touch Me There" remains in # 2 Position. Is this song really destined for the top and will Demarco ever give it the opportunity to shine at the top.

Erup is setting all the records to be beaten on the chart, his "Click My Finger" rose to the # 4 Position after only five weeks on the chart. Mr. Erup certainly deserves an award for such feat, but the top post is the only spot that counts so let's see if he can also crab that post at a record pace. Therefore the song is not surprisingly this week 'Shot to Watch'

'The Greatest Gainer' is Sean Paul's "Pick It Up & Drop It" as the song moved four spots up from the # 11 position to the # 7 Position. He seems to be ready again to heat up the international market with his new hit.

The artistes seems to be working very hard this year as there are again two 'New Entries' this week on the chart. The first new entry at the # 19 Position is "Gussie Clark" by Deva Brat. The other new entry is Prestige's "I'm Bless", this song makes its debut at the # 20 Position. These New Artistes seems to be doing exceptionally well.

Demarco' "Fallen Soldiers" standing firm in the #1 position on The Hype TV Top 20 Singles Chart

demarco_fallen_soldiers_jamaicaphotos.jpgThere is a lot of excitement this week on the chart. Demarco's "Fallen Soldiers" continues to grip on to the # 1 Position for third consecutive weeks. He seems to be signally that the top is his domain but let's see how long he can defend the territory.

Queen Ifrica is still hedging for the top with "Daddy Don't Touch Me There" . The song remains 'The Shot to Watch' and it also moved a spot up to the # 2 Position. Is this song going to be her fist top hit for 2008, is question on everyone's mind. Whatever the case might be Queen Ifrica is off to a great start.

Erup continues to click his way to the top at a very fast pace, as the song is 'The Greatest Gainer' again this week. It moved five spots up to assume the # 7 Position. He is obviously racing to the top.

There are two 'New Entries' this week and Bugle is the star of both. The first new entry is the very popular "DOH" by Serani feat. Bugle. Now this is a very cool combination with great potential as the song makes its debut at the # 16 Position. The other Bugle entry is "Journey" at the # 19 Position. Mr. Bugle seems to reigning hot for the New Year.

Newcomer Demarco remains in the # 1 Position on Hype TV Top 20 Singles Chart

demarco_fallensoldiers_photo_dancehall.jpgDemarco is doing well as "Fallen Soldiers" has remains in the # 1 Position for two consecutive weeks. He is also one of the leading contenders for the New Artiste of the Year category for 2007.

Shaggy Feat. Rik Rok's "Bonafide Girl" is holding firm to the # 2 Position.

The 'Shot To Watch' is Queen Ifrica's "Daddy Don't Touch Me There". The song moved a notch up to occupy the # 3 Position. It is as become the biggest threat to dethrone Demarco's song.

The 'Greatest Gainer' this week is Erup's "Click My finger". The song moved a record six (6) spots up from the # 18 position to assume the # 12 Position after only three weeks on the chart. Now this is what we mean by top chart material but, let's see if it will really click its way to the top.

Spice's "Up Inna De Light" is the 'Newest Entry'. She has been creating havoc and not taking any prisoners since her return in the music industry late November 2007. The song makes its debut at the # 19 Position.
