After Guyana concert and Sting, Popcaan heads to Zimbabwe

Popcaan_europe_tour_photo.jpg

Dancehall artiste, Popcaan, has a very busy season ahead as he prepares to debut recently shot music videos, fulfills engagements both overseas and at home, while putting in some quality time in studio on his first album project.

The artiste, who has made the Caribbean his home this year, will quite appropriately spend Christmas in Guyana where he is scheduled to perform on December 25. With many of his songs doing exceptionally well on that mainland territory, Popcaan is definitely the 'Ravin' King’ in Guyana, a country which holds a special place in his heart.

"The people are so friendly ….it feels just like home. The fans there have a special place in their heart for me," he said as he pulled out his brightest smile.

Of course, fans at home will not be left out and Papi, as he is affectionately called, is set to make a supreme performance on what is dubbed the greatest one-night reggae/dancehall show on earth - Sting. The annual December 26 treat is shaping up to be quite an occasion this year and Popcaan is good and ready. He has an arsenal of hit songs, old and current, which cater to both the girls who love to gyrate and his 'rude bwoy' fans who see Popcaan as their role model and mentor.

Iyara says he's "Ready Fi Kill" after Munga disses Alliance in new song

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN READY FI KILL

Iyara_Munga_Feud_bounty_killer.jpg

Alliance Next Generation artist Iyara who has earned his title as Bounty Killer's top marksman since his demolition of nemesis Deva Bratt at last year's Sting concert, and is now set to create a dancehall upheaval by challenging Munga Honorable on a diss song titled "Ready Fi Kill", produced by Grammy winning producer, Austin "Payday Music" Green.

The producer stated, "Since everybody hot fi Alliance wi hot fi dem to, we naw sit down and mek no artist or no industry people walk pan Alliance when we do so much fi this music, so it is what it is".

The song is a direct reply to Munga's song titled "No Fear", where the Hilltop artist implies that he has no fear for Alliance/Gaza/JOP and went on further to state "from sitten affi dead, sitten affi dead".

Hearing these utterances didn't sit well with Alliance/ANG leader Bounty Killer, who blasted Munga on twitter by saying, "Munga u are no more honorable ur ending is inevitable from u dissed Alliance u dissed me as well so anything a anything u who ran from debra sprat 08 and flopped ur career real go there maad rass now everybody!!!", after which Munga replied "Bounty Killer u nor nuh man cyaan tek MUNGA HONORABLE HONOR. Hotfoot".

The Alliance/ANG Camp took offense to the initial song recorded by Munga Honorable due to the fact that he was thought of as an "affiliate" to the camp, therefore with the utterances said in the song there would be no way that the Alliance name should be mentioned in the song. Iyara stated, "Mi nuh really have nuh bag a ting fi say enuh, but from di General upset, mi upset, nuh man cyaa style Alliance/ANG camp and get weh, deh so it deh simple !!!"

i-octane_jamaica_reggae_artiste_music.jpgConscious singjay I-Octane continues his dominance on the dancehall scene with several hard-hitting singles.
His latest single a combination with Bounty Killer entitled Bad Mind Dem A Pree has been sitting in the number one position for the past three weeks on the ER Top 10 Singles chart.

Junior Kelly Back In Jamaica After Successful Fall European Tour.

Junior_kelly_tour_europe_reggae_artiste.jpg

Reggae singer Junior Kelly is back home in Jamaica after a very successful fall European tour, which kicked off last October in Amiens, France. Even hurricane Sandy hitting Jamaica, weather conditions grounding flights and closing the Island airports couldn't put a damper on him. He remained in high spirit and great energy.

Kelly departed as soon as the country airport in Montego Bay reopened on the Thursday, October 25 late evening right before his Friday, October 26 performance. With no time to spare as he landed, Junior Kelly was up for his meet and greet, press and straight to his scheduled performance.

Full of energy, good form and positively great vibes, Junior delivered his hits to the delight of eager fans. Taking the crowd on a melodic musical journey with classic songs such as "Love So Nice" to his latest hit "Been There" video. The tour took Kelly and his band through the Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.

Mellow moods from Richie Spice on Soothing Sounds: Acoustic

Richie_Spice_album_jamaica.jpgRoots reggae singer Richie Spice takes his music to another level with the release of his highly anticipated sixth album, Soothing Sounds: Acoustic.

Touted as a collector’s item, this acoustic set is a one-off departure from Spice’s norm, and, on a broader scale, a departure from the norm in reggae music itself. An acoustic set is no easy feat in reggae, and only a few artistes of this genre have attempted to offer a full length unplugged set such as this. However, with the excitement that Soothing Sounds: Acoustics has aroused, it is likely that we will be getting more albums like this from other reggae acts in the future.

Interestingly, Richie Spice and his accomplished team - which includes talented producer Mitchum ‘Khan’ Chin, who doubles as guitarist; bass player Robbie Shakespeare (of Sly and Robbie fame) Bongo Herman and percussionists Denver Smith - make the production of an acoustic set look all too easy. The very first single, Free, embodied with strong lyrical content, haunting melodies and soothing sounds layered over harsh realities, intrigued the ears of hardened critics and fans alike and set the tone for Soothing Sounds: Acoustic.

Deep Jahi Aiming High

Deep_jahi_gully_side_julian.jpgDeep Jahi is closing out 2012 on a high note, after a very successful year. 2012 saw the young St Ann native walk away with the Magnum King of Dancehall crown and since gone on to release a slew of records that have been getting a good deal of airtime via radio and in the dancehalls across Jamaica.

"Reception has been overwhelming since emerging winner of the competition and signing with Rockstone Media," exudes the young singjay. "Boundaries have been exceeded and the future is looking promising. I want to big up all the radio DJs for the support, I know its hard as a young artist to get airplay but Sunshine, DJ Wayne, Smurf, Chrome, Liquid, Troy Mclean, Garfield Hamilton and so many more have shown my music crazy love and I'm very appreciative of that."

Deep Jahi's anthemic single My Life has been at the top of ZIP FM's Zip Code charts for several weeks, backed by a multitude of spins on all the domestic radio stations. Many disc jockeys are tipping Deep Jahi as one of Dancehall's next household names. The acclaimed music video for Life Goes On, shot by Mykal Cushnie in Tivoli Gardens, has been getting heavy rotation on all the domestic and cable TV stations also, climbing the Fiwi Choice charts in the process.

Kartel cops bail on conspiracy charge - But still in prison

By Marc Parc
OutAroad.com Writer

Vybz_Kartel_The_Voice_of_The_Jamaican_Ghetto_book.jpgEmbattled Dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel is another step closer to temporary freedom as the prominent deejay has secured bail on another charge.

Kartel has been granted JA$500,000 bail in his conspiracy case in relation to the murder St. Catherine-based dancer, Clive 'Lizard' Williams. The ruling was made when Kartel appeared in the Corporate Area Criminal Court Tuesday morning.

Kartel, along with long-time musical protégé, Vanessa 'Gaza Slim' Saddler and studio engineer, Andre 'Pim Pim' Henry are charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice following Williams' murder in August 2011. The charge stems from a police report Saddler filed five days after Kartel was charged for murder in the Clive 'Lizard' Williams matter. Prosecutors initially claimed they seized a cellphone containing text messages in which Kartel ordered Gaza Slim to file the report.

Vybz Kartel, who was also granted bail last December in the Barrington 'Bossie' Burton murder case, remains in police custody on the Clive 'Lizard' Williams murder charge.

The high-profile entertainer will return to court next month when the Barrington 'Bossie' Burton trial is expected to commence. The Clive 'Lizard' Williams murder trial and accompanying conspiracy cases have been put off until January 2013.

Mr. Vegas to sell house at centre of sex scandal

By M Jodee
OutAroad.com Freelance Writer

mr_vegas_house_florida.jpg

With imagery of a highly publicized off-stage incident still fresh in his mind, internationally regarded Dancehall superstar, Mr.Vegas seeks to eliminate some of that visual elements as the scene of said incident is now up for sale.

A month after Mr. Vegas allegedly caught his baby mama having sex with another man in front of his infant daughter, the Sweet Jamaica singer will sell the premises in which that act occurred. The Florida-based town-house, estimated at US$129,000, is up for grabs according to Mr. Vegas, who announced his decision to sell the property on Monday in a radio interview.
The house gained notoriety after pictures of the act were captured by hidden cameras inside the property, and later circulated on the internet. The photos not only showed Vegas' ex-girlfriend getting it on with her lover in his bed, but also showed the singjay's one and a half year old daughter wandering into the room, stumbling on their rendezvous.

According to Mr. Vegas, he has decided to sell his town-house given the negative energy felt while living there as well as ramifications of the cheating scandal that have remained with him ever since.
Nevertheless, Mr. Vegas has been using the experience as fodder for his music as he has penned two tracks since: Bare Tingz and Rise Again. Mr. Vegas unveiled the official video for Bare Tingz on Saturday, which features footage captured of the controversial saga.

Tiana being over priced by Booking Agencies - especially for shows in Africa

By Marc Jodee
OutAroad Writer

Tiana_Promo_Poster_booking.jpgWith the Dancehall Duchess asserting herself as one of the genre's emerging acts, it seems that a few promoters are trying to capitalize on her royal status within the industry.

Dancehall star, Tiana has allegedly been the subject of attempted scamming by promoters, locally and internationally. One source, who recently travelled from Africa, told Tiana's manager, Carlington 'OutAroad' Wilmot that unscrupulous persons are over charging the artiste for upcoming shows.
Additionally, one promoter also told Tiana's manager of a specific case, when a booking agency charged US$20,000 for her services in Africa. However, after a price of US$15,000 was seemingly agreed to, the booking agent relayed that Tiana will not be available for the date anymore, but they could offer three other artistes affiliated with their company for a similar price.

This isn't just happening to Tiana with overseas agencies, but such excessive pricing has also occurred locally for the Dancehall Duchess. Not only have some local promoters been overcharging her, they have been doing so in an effort to book persons who are signed with their agencies.

Meanwhile, many persons have been booking dub plate sessions for Tiana without her consent as producers have inquired her on social media about these sessions that they paid for. Industry players are being urged not to pay money to these unscrupulous persons.
Nevertheless, these apparent politics won't deter Tiana from closing out 2012 with a bang as she recently released singles such as Mine Di Dog Bite Yuh (Dog Bite Riddim - Produced by Washroom Entertainment). Additionally, Tiana features on the soon-to-be released, OutARoad produced, Hot Pursuit Riddim, which also features acts such as deejay of the year contender, Konshens and his rising protégés, Darrio as well as Delus, amongst many others.

All Booking Inquires should be directed to Tiana's Manager CarlingtonWilmot@gmail.com or BookTianaNow@gmail.com - Tell: (876) 3813874

IQ Street Life Taking Him To The Next Level

IQ_Street_Life_artiste_dancehall.jpgRecording artiste IQ is at it again with his hot new single and video entitled STREET LIFE. The single speaks to the everyday middle class persons hustling in the streets to earn a living. Street hustling ranges from the persons who wipe car glasses, selling bag juice and phone card to the person who owns a little stall on the road side.

IQ captures and highlights the day-to-day activities of the hustlers in his own creative way. This song is done for persons in small jobs mainly overlooked by others. He also encourages them to stay focused and keep on “hustling” rather than choosing less viable options to “earn a bread”.

The video which was directed by Tripledose Production was shot in various locations in the Kingston and St Andrew area, by REDFACE, a video director and editor (Over and Beyond Films). Ninja Man murder trial set for May 2013, has curfew lifted

By Marc Parc
OutAroad.com Writer

Ninjam_man_court_sting.jpgVeteran Dancehall superstar, Desmond 'Ninja Man' Ballentine will be made to wait a few months for his long-awaited murder trial to begin, but will be afforded an extra amount of freedom until it begins.

Ninja Man will be made to wait until May 2013 to answer a murder charge stemming from a March 2009 shooting incident of a 20-year-old man. The new date was set inside the Home Circuit Court in Kingston on Monday as the case could not be heard due to the fact Ninja Man's lawyer, Valerie Neita-Robertson is currently working on a murder case involving three policemen.

Ninja Man, his son, Janiel Ballentine and two other men are currently on JA$2 million bail as they await trial.

In the meantime, Ninja Man had his curfew temporarily lifted by the Home Circuit Court for the holiday season, giving him the green light to perform at STING 2012 on December 26 (Boxing Day) in Portmore, St. Catherine. The self-professed Don Gorgon will be allowed to perform without time restrictions between December 8, 2012 and January 7, 2013.

As a condition of his bail, Ninja Man was ordered to be at home from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. each day but had the curfew lifted after his lawyer argued that such a restriction would hurt his earning potential during the holiday season.

Rihanna Covers Billboard December 2012

By Celebrity-gossip

Rihanna_billboard_cover_sexy.jpgWith her new album Unapologetic hitting stores today (November 19), Rihanna covered the December 2012 issue of Billboard magazine.

The 24-year-old singer looked stunning in a black bikini top for the sexy front page shoot while her manager Jay Brown dished about the young singer's monumental success.

Manager Jay Brown from Roc Nation noted that hopes are high for Unapologetic to score the top album spot on Billboard. “It’d be great if she gets [a #1 album], but she’s broken every other record out there just about. The process is to make good music and when you make good music everything plays itself out. It’s great that people take it tastefully and piece by piece and they’re still buying. It’s about the marathon, not the sprint.”

As for sponsors for Rihanna’s 2013 Diamonds world tour, Brown noted, “We have a lot of offers but w’er not in a rush. She wants to do the right thing. If she’s going to work with a brand, it has to be something that she’s into. She won’t just do anything.”

Buju secures evidentiary hearing in drug case

By M. Jodee
OutAroad Writer

buju_banton_appeal_court.jpgThere's better news today for embattled Jamaican entertainer, Buju Banton as an evidentiary hearing has been set to explore allegations that a juror violated protocol in his drug trial last year.

According to reports, the hearing has been secured by Buju's lawyer, Chokwe Lumumba in conjunction with his defense support committee. The evidentiary hearing will take place on December 20 at the Sam M. Gibbons Federal Courthouse in Tampa, FL on December 20 at 9:30 a.m.

The court has reportedly summoned four jurors to this hearing, one of whom admitted to reporters last month that she researched aspects of Buju Banton's drug case prior to deliberation. Should that juror, Terri Wright, be proven to have done so, a mistrial could be ruled in Buju's drug case as researching facts for federal trials constitutes a violation of court orders.

Busy_signal_elephant_man_shane_brown.jpg

Prominent Dancehall/Reggae superstar, Busy Signal has returned to the streets of Jamaica after serving his six month prison term in the United States on a charge of absconding bail.

The popular entertainer, whose real name is Glendale Goshia Gordon arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Friday night. Busy Signal was met at the airport by his manager, Shane Brown and fellow Dancehall superstar, Elephant Man, as well as friends and family.

Pictures of Busy's arrival emerged late Friday night via Busy's official Twitter account with statuses such as "Guess who is back? God Is GOOD!" and Turf and brothers reunited. Only God."

Busy Signal had been in the United State since June when he was extradited to the North American country from Jamaica after initially being arrested in the United Kingdom. Busy, who had been suspected of using false identification, was later slapped by American law enforcement officials with a charge of failure to appear in court. The charge stemmed from a 2002 drug case in which Busy Signal fled the country while awaiting trial.

Another gay rights group targets Beenie Man, want upcoming show in U.S. cancelled

By Marc Jodee
OutAroad.com Writer

beenie_man_US_show_cancel.jpgProminent Dancehall superstar, Beenie Man can't seem to shake off the pressure brought on by the LGBT community despite his best efforts as yet another gay rights group targets one of his upcoming shows in the United States.

Nearly two weeks ago, the Queer Humboldt organization staged a peaceful protest while attending Beenie Man's show at the Ocean Grove Lodge in northern California. The gay rights group insisted that they were not trying to stop the show from proceeding, but wanted to educate Beenie Man and others about tolerance.

However, a new gay rights group, the Gay Liberation Network (GLN), has decided to turn up the heat on the 'King of the Dancehall,' demanding that Beenie Man's show at The Shrine in Chicago be cancelled due to the Grammy-winning entertainer's past remarks about homosexuals.

In a letter issued by GLN, the group stated, "I wish it were possible to say that this artist performs music that is simply engaging entertainment with a great beat and sometimes gritty lyrics. Sadly, this is not the case due to Beenie Man's history of frequent calls for violence against gays and lesbians. Such calls are anything but 'entertainment' when directed against a vulnerable and oppressed minority."

Popcaan popping with energy

Popcaan_Europe_ravin_partyshot_jamaica.jpg

Sold-out tours, hot new singles and intense adoration from his fans are the elements that have combined to keep acclaimed entertainer, Popcaan a main contender in the fiery furnace of dancehall juggling. Not only has he come to terms with a lot of the drama that surrounded his meteoric rise in the dancehall, Popcaan is intent on making it work for him.

Positioned as an artiste whose versatility sees him locking the town with ultra bad bwoy lyrics, while at the same time playing the role of the ultimate ladies man, as he belts out "Mi a the only man she want", Popcaan is certainly enjoying the best of both worlds. It is little wonder that 2012 has seen him hitch his wagon to a star as he traverses the globe -- Europe, the Caribbean and Canada -- representing for dancehall as one of Jamaica's proudest ambassadors.

“The response from countries outside of Jamaica has been awesome," Popcaan says, still sounding a bit dazed by it all. "When I go to the Caribbean, the fans there know every song word-for-word. They expect to hear all the songs in my catalogue and they don’t want one verse either, they demand the entire song… and I am only too happy to sing it all for them," declares the MOBO nominated artiste.

Equiknoxx Music experiments with the 'VT Sound' in new series

By Marc Jodee
OutAroad.com Writer

V-Town_Sound_The_Thesis.jpgMany times music reflects the true personality of an artiste on and off-stage. However,
Equiknoxx Music seeks to prove with their newest project that music can reveal the persona of a community.

On November 13, Equiknoxx Music launched their newest project dubbed V-Town Sound - The Thesis, an ode to the label's base of Vineyard Town in Kingston. This sizzling project is the first of a three part series, determined to give some of Dancehall and Reggae music's emerging acts a big push within the industry while honoring the heart of this inner city community.

V-Town Sound - The Thesis outlines parallels between the passion and hunger that the artistes on this compilation possess and the drive possessed by Vineyard Town residents. Produced by Equiknoxx's Gavin Blair, the compilation features a sample size of five tracks that will leave fans wanting more.

One such single on V Town Sound that possesses these elements is Calling by Subkonshus Music artiste, Darrio. The single features the sensual voice of a woman yearning for the presence of the man she loves as her man hustles the streets to try and make ends meet. The beat offers a fitting backdrop to the ongoing storyline as Darrio proves his worth as a prominent upstart within Jamaican music.

Getting To Know Ifertari

Ifertari_artiste_reggae_singer.jpg

She is a lover of roots rocking reggae music, so it's no surprise that Ifertari has honed her skills for this musical platform, which she intends to own. Ifertari, meaning, "one creator", is the stage name for the bubbly, talented and sexy empress, whose raspy voice mellows the heart of her listeners. Not only is she vocally inclined, but she writes the lyrics for each of her roots rocking reggae songs. While Ifertari is an international artiste, she is definitely no stranger to reggae music. Her musical career started in her hometown, the reggae town of Kingston, Jamaica; in her father's, Chubby Coleman's studio.

At the age of six, she recorded her first song, a hit song by the most awarded female act of all time, Whitney Houston; I believe the children are our future. This was one of her first inspirations in the pursuit to becoming a singer. She wrote her first song at the age of 9, entitled, Don't Go Chasing After Boys, inspired by the song, Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls by TLC.

Like Reggae King Bob Marley, Ifertari grew up in a "tenement yard", after being abandoned by her mother. This taught her, that a strong work ethic, self motivation and determination are the only ways to achieve your goals in life. In the years to come, Ifertari developed a career in entertainment media to facilitate and enhance her music and entertainment career. She produced and hosted a #1 hit show on Public Access Television in Hartford Connecticut, called Heart Beat Illist; illist meaning, best. This was a live talent show featuring artistes of all genres from around the world, poets, models and dancers.

Justin Bieber Talks Selena Gomez Breakup: "I Don't Know What's Going On in My Life"

by Marc Malkin
Eonline

Justin Bieber is talking about the end of his and Selena Gomez's romance-sorta.
Justin_Bieber_Selena_Gomez_break_up_photo.jpgThe "Boyfriend" pop star was asked about the breakup a few hours after E! News exclusively reported they had split.

"I don't know what to say," he said in an interview with the Open House Party radio show on Saturday, neither confirming nor denying the news. "I don't know what's going on in my life. To even assess that it doesn't make sense 'cause I have not made any comment."

Bieber laughed when the show's host cracked that he could pull a Taylor Swift by singing about it.

Both Gomez and Bieber are now in the NYC area. The former Wizards of Waverly Place starlet was spotted at LAX yesterday catching a flight there while Bieber has a concert tomorrow at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Lady Saw contemplating baptism? - "I am struggling with both sides"

By M. Jodee
OutAroad.com Writer

Lady_Saw_Church_Christian_Jamaica.jpgThe Jamaican music industry may be witnessing the transformation of one of its icons as the most prominent female deejay of all-time has been considering a shift of gears, musically and spiritually.

Known for her raunchy, no-holds-barred musical persona, the Queen of Dancehall, Lady Saw shocked fans by tweeting that she has been contemplating baptism as she has been going through a spiritual transformation in recent months.

"Been thinking of getting baptized from about six months now, but then some people draw me out and I end up cussing them out. Well not anymore," she tweeted.

Lady Saw followed that statement up by insisting that her new single, Heels On will be her last Dancehall song, as she will be doing gospel music from here on in.

Insisting that this was no joke nor publicity stunt, Lady Saw revealed that she has scarcely released Dancehall singles over the last nine months due to the spiritual transformation she's experiencing.

"To all record producers, the reason why I didn't record your songs from nine months ago until now is cuz of what I've been experiencing, u get it," she tweeted.

Lady Saw has been dealing with her share of off-stage drama in recent weeks after she found out that her boyfriend of 17 years and prominent producer, Lloyd 'John John' James had impregnated another woman. This prompted Lady Saw to rant on Facebook and Twitter before revealing in a radio interview that she would stick by John John despite his latest case of infidelity.

Mavado_stephen_genius_bigship_htc.jpgAfter several years of making hits together, Mavado and Stephen "Da Genius" McGregor have scored big again with the Genius-produced "Di Gyal Dem," which spearheads the new European advertising campaign for HTC, one of the world's biggest makers of smartphones.

HTC is launching its new One X handset and contracted Da Genius to produce the music for the campaign's video clip. It is the next stage in HTC's "As Recommended By" campaign, highlighting the audio and video credentials of the new handset via a video shot at a party in Miami's Little Haiti, with Mavado and Da Genius providing the soundbed.

"Stephen created a riddim he christened One X and told us he was working on the HTC project," said Julian Jones-Griffith, Mavado's manager. "He said the creative directors putting the project together were huge fans of Mavado and would love to have him provide the vocals for the campaign. Genius sent us the beat, I spoke with the ad agency about direction and they said they wanted Mavado to just do his thing. Mavado recorded "Di Gyal Dem" at Platinum Sounds in New York and the ad agency loved it. Its a huge look for Mavado, Stephen and for Dancehall to be at the forefront of such a huge commercial campaign and hopefully helps to break another barrier."

New York, NY (FOX FUSE) - Conscious reggae star Richie Spice officially debuted his new album Soothing Sounds: Acoustic to media and fans in Kingston, Jamaica, on October 30, 2012, a week after the launch was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. The 15-track acoustic opus of socially-conscious roots anthems bowed worldwide on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from Tad's Record.

"We had high expectations for the launch and we superseded them," states Tad Dawkins, President of Tad's Record. The launch was hosted by Usain Bolt's Tracks & Records, Kingston's newest hot spot for intimate, live concerts, and saw Richie Spice backed by a four-piece band and flanked by three back-up singers. He performed several songs from the album in acoustic format, including "Free," "My Heart," and "Crying." Tifa & Spice Team Up For Why U Mad

Tifa_Spice_artiste_dancehall.jpg

Dancehall divas Tifa and Spice have teamed up for a hot new anthem called Why U Mad. The tune was produced by Washroom Entertainment and is featured on the Dog Bite rhythm. It is to be released this week.

In a release to the media, both artistes shared their views on the recording.

'I've always wanted to collaborate with Spice for some time now. We almost worked together on the Matrimony project last year but because of timing it didn't happen", said Tifa.

For her part, Spice said 'The song is basically talking about bad mind people and people who go out of their way to try to stop you in life. It’s a song about the haters. We are God blessed and we are doing our thing", said Spice.

"It's been a long time since a female let alone a combination with two female artistes, is speaking out against bad mind. Myself and Spice have had our fair share. But it’s definitely a liberating anthem for all", Tifa explained.

Tifa's annual Pink Xstacy: The Rebirth party which was scheduled for December 8 has been cancelled.

Vybz Kartel gets 2013 court date

By Marc Parc
OutAroad Writer

Vybz_kartel_january_court_date.jpgThe ongoing legal drama involving embattled Dancehall superstar, Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer will drag out into the New Year as a second murder trial for the deejay has been put off.

Vybz Kartel, along with Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell, Calvin 'Moonie' Haye, Andre St. John and Kahira Jones were all expected to stand trial Monday in the Clive 'Lizard' Williams murder case. However, when the men appeared inside the Home Circuit Court in Kingston this morning, the trial was postponed due to the fact that Kartel's lawyer, Valerie Neita-Robertson is currently attending a separate murder case, involving three policemen.

Despite the Crown's willingness to proceed with the trial, the presiding judge ordered that Kartel and his co-accused return to court on January 21 to answer charges in the Clive 'Lizard' Williams case. Kartel and the co-accused are all accused of involvement in Williams' murder last August at a residence in Havendale, St. Andrew. Williams was allegedly beaten and stabbed to death by the men following an argument over a missing, illegal gun.

Prezident Brown's New Album, I Sound Is From Creation, Debuts November 13 from Tad's Record

Prezident_Brown_album_I_Sound_Is_From_Creation.jpgNew York, NY (FOX FUSE) - Tad's Record releases the highly-anticipated new album from Jamaican roots artist Prezident Brown with I Sound Is From Creation, available worldwide on November 13, 2012. Born Fitz Cotterell in Clarendon, Jamaica, Prezident Brown embarked on a prolific musical journey that spans three decades and has transcended international borders, bringing his brand of socially-conscious messages to the global audience.

Hailed as one of the few remaining authentic roots entertainers, Prezident Brown is often compared to the late Dennis Brown and Jacob Miller of Inner Circle. This, his ninth full-length release, is no different, as he continues his mission to educate and entertain, through his music. "I am mentally, physically and spiritually prepared and looking forward to the album release," reveals Prezident Brown. "I know my existing fans will be fulfilled by it and I am ready to tour and introduce my special Fitz Cotterell-brand of reggae worldwide."

Boasting 14 tracks molded by Prezident Brown's signature chanting style, all solidly laced over classic one-drop reggae riddims, I Sound Is From Creation is a must-have album for reggae lovers. With the first single, "Be Careful (Rags To Riches)," Prezident Brown implores listeners to not get attached to material things or lose themselves, as they rise from "rags" to "riches." The second single, "Teach The Youths Dem (Meditation)," addresses the destruction of the culture and encourages youths to be strong in the face of adversity. Other notable tracks include "Defender," where he delves into his Rastafarian faith and urges the public to not belief the negative propaganda that is spread about the religion, "Fi Wi Queen (Jamaica 50)," which pays tribute to Jamaica's 50th Independence celebrations, "Everything Is Everything," which explores the mysteries of creation, and "Rebel With A Cause," a unique combination of neo-soul and roots reggae that speaks to Prezident Brown's musical versatility.

Emerging dancehall star brings new Stylez to the scene - Music Video

By Jodee Brown

Stylez_Uk_artiste.jpg

With a bag of tricks up his sleeve, it’s not hard to see why one upcoming artiste seeks to prove that he’s full of 'Stylez' with substance in his content.

Growing up in Portmore, St. Catherine, emerging deejay, Stylez has music running through his veins since birth. No one recognized Stylez's abilities more than the one who gave birth to him as his mother encouraged him and his two younger brothers to test their musical skills; later forming a group called the Star Brothers, who soon made their name within their community by singing at church.

For Stylez, his mother's belief in him was the driving force towards wanting to own the stage.

"It's safe to say my mother was the ultimate influence on me being introduced to music at a tender age!" he said.

From there, Stylez perfected his craft while attending Dunoon Technical High School, teaming up with his friend, Kardo to form the duo, Stylez and Kardo (SK) in 2006 before migrating to the United States. Being in a new country forced Stylez to make some adaptations on and off-stage, but soon opened doors towards a brighter future in music.

"Being in a new country and reunited with my mother and stepfather, I pretty much had to start over. My mother asked me, 'What do I want to do now?' I told her I wanted to pursue my music full time for a year with their support," he said.

"They agreed and asked me if I was gonna go solo and I told them it's me and my friend so I can't leave home. The following month he was here and out journey began!"
