When Hot 102 FM's Steven Golding contacted Maia about being a co-host on the MIC 123 talk show, she immediately accepted the offer.
According to Chung, "me and Steven's will be exploring the issues that have been affecting the nation to our detriment and is definitely aimed at not using old methodologies, but introducing this generation’s modes of examination - not the same old same old - we want to spark new ideas across the nation that will yield modern problem solving strategies".
Developed by the Hot 102 fm management the show airs Mondays to Fridays on HOT 102 fm between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., is hosted by Chung and Steven Golding…himself a seasoned broadcaster. Even though the show is less than two month-old; the feedback nationally and internationally are 100% in the positive.
Chung who heads the Communications Unit of the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) says, "I want to use this option to encourage the young people of Jamaica to get into farming. The average age of the Jamaican farmer is in the fifties, once this set matriculates out of the sector we have no new people to replace them – this is bad for the nation’s Food Security”.
"So a lot of farming information will be included if the producer Sharona Napier allows" - she added.
Maia Chung admitted its good being back in the mainstream fray.
