Prominent Dancehall/Reggae artiste, Wayne Marshall seeks to reap several rewards from his join ventures with Grammy-winning Reggae superstar, Damian Marley as the singjay plans to unveil his new album, produced by Junior Gong.
True Colours, a 14-track compilation recorded by Marshall, will officially be released in January 2013, becoming the first album that the singjay would release since Marshall Town graced shelves in 2005. Additionally, True Colours represents a milestone for Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley as this marks his maiden effort as a producer through his Ghetto Youths International label, also owned by fellow Grammy-winning Reggae megastar and brother, Stephen Marley.
According to Marshall, the album's name, True Colours was coined by Damian Marley, given that the Good Ole Wife singer's trademark slang has been 'Tru Tru Tru' ever since he burst onto the music scene in the late 1990s. Additionally, Marshall expressed his joy and excitement working with the Marleys, citing their extraordinary work ethic and ingenuity as foundations for the developing chemistry between himself and the brothers of Reggae's most prominent family.
True Colours features an all-star cast of entertainers including Dancehall/Reggae stalwarts, Bounty Killer, Sean Paul, Konshens, Tarrus Riley, Assassin, I-Octane, the aforementioned Damian Marley and former rival, Vybz Kartel, who Marshall mended fences with prior to the artiste's incarceration last year.
Wayne Marshall officially signed with Ghetto Youths International this past January and has been working tirelessly in his efforts to promote unity within the Jamaican music industry, most notably by releasing a star-studded collaboration, Go Hard featuring Bounty Killer, Damian Marley, I-Octane, Assassin, Aidonia and Vybz Kartel.
