When it comes on to hitting the right conscious musical notes, singjay I-Octane seems to have found the right formula.
That is a proven fact with numbers such as Lose A Friend, My Life and the ganja loving Puff It. But there is no easing up as the Digicel Brand Ambassador is once more at it, this time with Burn Dem Bridge.
Ever since it hit the airwaves it has been receiving a steady buzz, it has even caught on already in parts of the Caribbean as evidenced by the eager response he got from his recent performance in St Kitts.
Listening to Burn Dem Bridge it is easy to figure out why it has been embraced by music listeners. Recorded to a catchy beat I-Octane chants "Tek up inna tings dem neva ask the Lord fah, it's not a laughing matter, ungratefulness causes disaster… dem burn dem bridge.."
The song comes with the singjay trademark philosophy on life and his stance on living it.
Burn Dem Bridge was produced by Big Ship's Stephen Di Genius McGregor and sees singer and producer working together for the first time.
I-Octane commenting on the song says he likes the vibes he has been receiving since its release. He can't wait for the video to be done as he says the director Mykal Cushine is already brimming with ideas regarding it.
"The video should have been shot from last week, but rain played havoc with that plan," the singjay said in a release.
He explained that the shooting date has now been pushed back to this week, "It will be worth it though," he promised.
Following the video shoot, I-Octane will be gearing up for another first - performing in Barbados at the Midway House Car Park on October 29.
"I am really looking forward to winning over new fans and giving my fans there a treat," he quipped about his upcoming gig.
