Vybz Kartel's former business partner, Corey Todd is being accused of disrespect & assault by Stone Love selector, Bill Cosby. The incident, which occurred at Club Riddim's weekly, "Swag Tuesdays" event, took place as Cosby was playing a series of Vybz Kartel songs, to Todd's chagrin.
Cosby explained that he took to his set at 2am during Swag Tuesdays at Club Riddim. As soon as he began playing Kartel songs, particularly a diss song aimed at Corey Todd done by the self-proclaimed "Dancehall Hero," Cosby alleges that's when Todd approached him; dropping a banner on his head initially to get his attention. Once he ignored that, Cosby alleged that Todd threw a box full of CDs after him, swatting away the box.
The veteran Stone Love selector intimated that he was still in pain following the incident & even accused Todd of being a hypocrite given that he was publicly portraying a negative image similar to the one he depicted of Vybz Kartel once the two men severed ties this past May.
In response to the disc jockey's claims, Todd denied that there was any physical altercation but did say that the Kartel diss song, aimed at him is what led to the disagreement. He did confirm to dropping cup & later a banner on Cosby to dry and draw his attention & prevent him from playing the diss song but insisted he didn’t assault him.
Despite the incident, Todd assured the public that he's not fighting against Kartel's music & explained that other selectors played Kartel songs after the incident occurred. However, Todd reiterated to selectors that they can't play such derogatory music while juggling at Club Riddim.
Todd & Vybz Kartel parted ways in May after Todd alleged Kartel made threats on his life. Since then he has joined forces with self-proclaimed, "King of The Dancehall," Beenie Man to promote the new "Yaad Swag" rum brand & recently signed fellow Dancehall deejay, Aidonia to a management deal in which Aidonia will be part of a marketing campaign for a new product Todd plans to launch soon.
