TAMPA - A federal judge again has changed the trial date for Grammy-nominated reggae singer Buju Banton without giving a reason.

Banton's trial on drug charges originally was scheduled for April 19, the date
Banton requested. But 11 days before the trial was set to start, U.S. District Judge James Moody moved it to June 21.

The defense objected, citing the cost of rearranging travel for witnesses and noting that Banton would be held in jail longer.

Moody overruled the objections.

A notice was posted today that the case has been moved to the September trial calendar. A trial date will be set at a status conference in August.

Last weekend, savvy lyricist Aidonia accompanied by Suhverto and other members of the J.O.P camp completed from their ‘Wii Sick’ European Tour.

The tour which kicked off in Amsterdam, Holland saw the team making stops in Germany, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Norway, France, Switzerland and Spain before returning to the island.

For Aidonia and the team the three weeks stint proved very successful as they delivered some explosive performances to pack houses across the continent. The ‘Heart Is Hers’, singer also used the opportunity as a launching pad to promote his upcoming album due for release later this year.

Since returning home Aidonia has released two new singles on the Stephen McGregor produced Catalog Rhythm and Tarik ‘Russian’ Johnston, Street Groove Rhythm.

In June, Aidonia will depart the island for assignments in Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago.

Amidst the ongoing social unrest that has left various sects of the Jamaican society at odds with the Government, dancehall firefly and humanitarian, D’Angel has once again stepped to the fore lending her support to the ‘Music For Life’ concert staged at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Center on Saturday, May 29.

The concert a charity event spearheaded by The Lawman Lynch Foundation (LLF) is aimed at raising funds for Jamaica's most marginalized and vulnerable children. Other featured acts included Reggae crooner Tarrus Riley, Ryan Mark, Omari, Nadine Sutherland, Kiprich, Gyptian, Bob Andy, Empress, G-Whizz among others.

"TAKE AWAY THE DARK CLOUDS AND GIVE US THE LIGHT, EVERYONE WE MUST UNITE, BECAUSE ITS NO LONGER NICE IN PARADISE" -- These are the infamous words of a Reggae Legend who has been calling for peace on the island of Jamaica now for decades. The legendary superstar, Barrington Levy, along with Platinum Camp Productions, Inc. are on the forefront of the struggle to bring attention to the tragic violence that plagues the island nation.

The skillful Wyclef Refugee All-Star Sound (WRAS) is taking it to Europe once again. This time their new tour-quest will be featuring Dancehall/Reggae recording artist Bugle. This package is aptly titled "STAR POWER EUROPEAN TOUR 2010". With a new website launching shortly; the sound's focus while in Europe is to revisit markets they've previously dominated and expand Bugle's fan base at the same time. Even though Wyclef is the owner of the Refugee All-Star Sound, he won't be touring with them. The sound primarily consists of Sean "Da Entertainer" and DJ Khadaffy.

While on tour the sound will be dropping a new mixtape. As Sean comments; "We love upcoming and new talent. This mixtape features Romain Virgo - one of Jamaica's newest most talented singers. We're really excited about him and look forward to working with him in the future. Another artist we're really endorsing is Malica - a female talent; a singjay with incredible range. In addition to these two, there's also Mighty Mystic whom we're watching very closely." All three artists are featured in the new mixtape as well as some special dubplates and remixes done specifically for the sound's mixtape. The tour takes place from May 21st until June 5th during which time they will visit Germany, England, Austria, Italy, and other countries.

When he sang the words "Mr. Wacky is gone but his dancing lives on…", O'Neil Edwards could never have known that his end would be equally tragic. He was named O'Neil Jason Charles Edwards at birth, an event that took place on May 8, 1974. One of ten siblings, O'Neil's five sisters and four brothers knew that music would be the road he would take from early in their lives.

He was destined to be in the music business, following in the footsteps of his father, well-known Jamaican recording artiste and producer Rupee Edwards. The performance and production of music was a part of O'Neil's early life as he watched his father, heard the sounds, felt the excitement of the music business and decided this was what he wanted to do.

The greatest Reggae show on earth kicks off with a beach party on July 18 and continues at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay on July 22-24 despite challenges as a result of the country’s economic condition.

A representative for dancehall star MAVADO has brushed off criticism from Jamaica's tourism minister about a cameo in rapper DRAKE's new video, after taking issue with his portrayal of a gun-toting local gangster.

Drake shot the promo for Find Your Love in the Jamaican cities of Kingston and St. Andrew, and follows the hip-hop star as he pursues a woman romantically linked to a gang leader named Puffy, played by Mavado.

The video ends with Drake being kidnapped and held at gunpoint, and bullets can be heard being fired as the screen fades to black.

Jamaica's Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett protested the content of the video last week (ends14May10), expressing his disappointment at the apparent link between the Caribbean country and gun culture.

According to several fans the West Kingston clash between the police force and gunmen might have contributed to Oneil's passing away, especially that the Hospital was overloaded with dozens of emergency cases.

On May 10, 2010 Oneil was robbed and shot several times at his gate in the Duhaney Park community.

The late songstress Aaliyah once sang the undeniable words, ‘age ain’t nothing but a number’, and Jay Z recently announced that forty is the new twenty, but a lot of Jamaicans obviously haven’t gotten these messages, clearly proven when one of the hottest topics in the streets of Jamaica and on the internet, is the age of some of our top entertainers and who should retire and who shouldn’t. There is no denying that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when ones opinion is shrouded by the blurriness of senseless analysis, addressing the matter is inevitable.

Vybz Kartel recently addressed Bounty Killer as a Dinosaur, carbon-dating him as prehistoric, (while Kartel, is a mere three years Killer’s junior), causing the Warlord to not only get cross, angry and miserable, but also forced him to literally go hard or go home.

Dancehall diva Macka Diamond seems to be the latest victim of the age discussion, with claims on the internet that she is fifty years or older, when nothing is further from the truth. What however is really funny about this argument is that those who are making these ridiculous claims feel as if music started with them, and will end with them. So with that said, the obvious question seems to be, what is the retirement age in the Jamaican entertainment industry, because although some are talking, one look around and we can see that there are those inside and outside our shores who have continued working way into their twilight years, and are actually doing a wonderful job of it, so what is all the talk of age, and who is old and should retire all about, when all the real heavyweights in the entertainment industry are all grown, and still very sexy.

D’Angel and her management would like to inform the public that she will not be appearing at Club Croydon in London, England on May 29 as is currently being advertised.

D’Angel declined to appear on the concert after members of the promotional group wanted her to travel without her team. The absence of a formal contract also lead to her backing out of the arrangement over a month ago.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances the dancehall fashionista has begun talks with U.K. based Radio Jock /Promoter, Chris Goldfinger for a show at the same venue sometime in June.

Later this month D'Angel is set to blaze at 'Ladies Sundays' at Club Cali in Trelawny.

THE Jamaica Constabulary Force is reporting that 26 civilians have been killed and 25 injured in the West Kingston operation. The report - the first official confirmation from the police - was issued this morning.

One member of the security forces was also killed and seven injured, the police said.

The police said those killed were mostly males and their bodies were recovered from areas close to barricades, building entrances and gullies running through Tivoli Gardens. In addition to injuries and fatalities, 211 people including six women were detained.

Gospel/dancehall deejay Prodigal Son has released two thought provoking singles, which have already been getting ample airtime.

The songs, namely Going Home and God Ragga Ragga were produced by Prodigal’s Radikal Yawd label.

Going Home which is a collaboration with dancehall artiste Konshens, is a mid tempo plea which highlights the injustices in the ‘system’ which have resulted in persons being incarcerated unfairly.

In no uncertain terms, the song hits hard as it outlines the experiences of being imprisoned and a desire to break free from the obstacles.

God Ragga Ragga is another food for thought, as it states emphatically that persons should be judged by their thoughts and actions, and not by the material things that they possess.

One of the most sought after artistes from the gospel fraternity, Prodigal Son is still reveling in delight from a successful 2009, where he topped the charts with the hit single Head Cyaan Hot So.

Its been ten years since he began his musical journey, and singer Anthony Cruz is looking forward to delivering his best showing to date.

His latest single Only the Father, a heartfelt plea based on personal experiences, has become a favourite on local FM radio. The song is also garnering strong rotation on Caribbean radio stations stateside. It was produced by Lloyd 'John John' James Jr. and is featured on the 'Coming in from the Cold' rhythm.

Its been about two years since he topped the charts locally, but Cruz consistently maintains a good showing on the charts outside of Jamaica.

In Beenie Man's latest single Dat A Gwan he listed several issues that could have been the main reason why the US Embassy revoked his visa.

Two main suspects on Beenie Man's hit-list are: 1) Youtube with Ricky Trooper being second on the list. "A youtube mek wi lose wi visa, so mi ask Trooper if yuh ago help mi pay dem school fee yah".

In verse one Beenie Man also gave a word of advice to all the artists who loss their visas to refrain from making travelling arrangements via "banana boat".

The single, Feel It/Dance Tonight was G-Whizz's idea. He says, "The idea actually came when I was in the club having a good time. I got an idea and house music is something that I listen to so I decided that it was something that I wanted to try. It has a good club vibe for here and overseas," he said.

Couple days after dancehall artiste Mad Cobra was released from the Spanish Town Hospital his house was sprayed with bullets by thugs.

Even though Cobra was home at the time of the shooting he managed to escape without being hurt.

According to news reports the attack on Cobra's house might have been connected to the incident that had the deejay admitted for several days in the Spanish Town Hospital.

On the night when Cobra was attacked he reportedly shone his motor vehicle's bright lights on a group of men who were hanging out on the corner. Cobra then stepped out of his car trying to quell the dispute but was instead greeted with gun shots one of which hits him in the chest (shoulder).

The Jamaican music industry is now adopting the fresh look and sound of the sexy, talented and captivating Angele Smith.

Since his move to Kingston some nine years ago, Angele Smith has struggled through many adversities to reach this point. Now, he has a brand new single and music video. Angele Richard Smith was born in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland, on March 3 and grew up in a two bedroom board house which was occupied by nine siblings - four boys and five girls. NEW YORK - Lyrically, Nas has been at a higher altitude than his peers since the beginning of his career. His verbal achievements have become legendary. While admittedly, Nas sometimes has questionable beat selections, the Queensbridge native's words have been so piercing that the guy can frankly get away with rapping over anything. And he has.

Last year when Esco announced that he would be following up his album Untitled with a duet LP with a star outside of genre, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, some of his fans didn't know what to think. But if there is anyone who could actually pull it off, it's Nas. Certainly there would be way more public pushback if, say, a Jay-Z, Eminem, T.I. or Young Jeezy would have set out on such an audacious musical venture. But with Nas, you know his spirit is free, and even in his mid-30s, the timeless mic king is almost as rebellious as when he was a 20-year-old kid fresh out of the Queensbridge projects.

This will be the second win for the Champion...will she add another week to her tally?

I have been trapped in a situation that I think is more than just a fantasy. Since of late it has become a nightmare but yet still I find myself doing the same thing over and over again.

Dancehall diva D’Angel, fresh from her Caribbean stint continues to turn up the intensity ahead of the upcoming Summer holidays. The dancehall fashionista now back in the island has once again teamed up with Assassin’s Board House Records to record her third single with the label titled ‘Rude Girl’. According to reports the dead man who had several gunshot wounds all over his body was found with Oneil's cellular phone in his possession. The other suspect was arrested last night in the parish of Manchester.

Oneil was robbed and shot several times early Monday morning at his gate in the Duhaney Park community.

It has been less than three days since Oneil from the dancehall boy group Voicemail was robbed and shot the latest victim is Mad Cobra.

It's alleged that the incident took place in the St. Catherine area where he was shot in the chest. He's now admitted in the Spanish Town Hospital.

According to a source his condition looks critical as he’s not only bleeding from his chest but also from his mouth.

Reggae singer Anthony Cruz provided the musical thrills and left the audience in a satisfied mood, having performed at a Mothers Day concert in Orlando, Florida.

The event billed For the Love of Mama, also featured performances from the likes of Etana, Nadine Sutherland, newcomer Denyque and Virgin Islands native Alayna.

From the moment he stepped on stage, the screams from the females were deafening. Kicking off his stint with Mama’s Blessing, Cruz in full control working up a sweat with appetizing treats including No Gun a Dance, Place Too Bloody, Half Way Tree, Block The Road, remakes of You’ll Think of Me, The Closer I Get To You and U Got it Bad, Foolish Heart, and his current radio hit Only the Father.

After his performance, Cruz signed autographs and provided photo opportunities for the fans who have continued to support him.

Nearly five years after scoring his first chart hit, Brown Brothers Music recording artist Guidance has finally managed to shake off the one hit wonder tag. LONDON (Reuters Life!) - Superhero movie "Iron Man 2" held on to the UK box office top spot for a second week, according to Screen Internationalon Tuesday, easily seeing off the challenge of a clutch of new releases.

Starring Robert Downey Jr as a billionaire with a suit of invincible armor, the film made 3.2 million pounds ($4.9 million) after its debut 7.6 million pounds last week.

Of the five newcomers to the Top 10, "Furry Vengeance" did best, reaching second place with Brendan Fraser and Brooke Shields fending off local forest animals whose homes are at risk from a housing development.

Horror movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street" came in at three with the tale of suburban teenagers being stalked by killer Freddy Krueger.

Making its debut at four was time-warp buddy comedy "Hot Tub Machine" while Jennifer Lopez determined to become a mother in "The Back-up Plan," was new at five.

Since Dancehall artiste Mr. Glamarus released his song titled "Not Like That" on the Wise Men Production label he has been receiving positive feed-back from fans especially now that the track is getting back to back rotations on Hitz and Fame FM.

From here Mr. Glamarus next step is, "I am now in discussions with several video directors. I am definitely pushing for the video to be out before the summer," said Mr. Glamarus.

Voicemail member Oneil Edwards who celebrated his birthday last week Saturday (May 8, 2010) is now admitted in the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to information reaching OutAroad.com Oneil was shot in his side and head while being robbed in his home-town Dunhaney Park this morning.

OutAroad.com has received dozens of emails from industry insiders wishing Oneil a speedy recovery who’s now undergoing several CT scan.

DJ Shine was in his element over the past weekend, utilizing his turntable and musical skills to entertain hundreds of patrons.

His first stop was Appleton May Daze which kicked off its 2010 season at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Friday May 7. Shine who is billed as one of the resident Djs for the weekly event, threw down the latest jams comprising culture, dancehall, hip hop and dance treats.

The following night it was "Yesterday" the Best of the 90's party at the Mas Camp Village in New Kingston, which was promoted by GLK Entertainment. The event which was well attended saw Shine warming patrons in the early segment with R&B delicacies from the 1990's. His repertoire then went into overdrive as he unleashed dancehall nuggets from the 1990's including hits from JC Lodge, Beres Hammond, Cutty Ranks and many others.

DJ Shine has been steadily making a name for himself on the party circuit ever since he finished fourth in the 2009 season of the Heineken Green Synergy competition. He is billed for a number of parties each week, leading into the summer season.

Shortly before Columbia Pictures' announcement about the film's May 2012 release on Friday (May 7), MTV News spoke with Smith's new co-star, Josh Brolin, about the upcoming flick. Though he hasn't yet inked a deal to play a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones' Agent Kay, Brolin spoke effusively about "MIBIII" and exactly how he decided the role was right for him.

"It looks really, really good," he told us. "I can't tell you the story, obviously, but they pitched me the general story, and I was like, 'Eh, I don't know if that's really my thing, man.' I was extremely grateful that they were even interested in me. But then they got more specific with the story, and I go, 'Yes, that's f---ing great!' This is a character where I feel like I can do some actual acting work within this franchise that everybody knows."
