With the high-riding single Ears Hard in his arsenal, reggae artiste Vybrant took to the stage at Magnum Follow Di Arrow ready to stamp his name indelibly on patrons in the audience… and he did just that. The smooth-sounding vocalist stepped out at the event, held at the James Bond Beach in Oracabessa, St Mary, armed with the sweet sound of reggae music.
As he launched his high-energy stint on stage, his lyrics - laced with positive messages and melodic harmonies - found its way into the hearts of patrons, who caused the performer to “go even harder” when his much-hoped for ‘forward’ was realised.
“Follow Di Arrow was very good for me and it was a very good experience. Anywhere I can get to express myself through music and anywhere I can give people a chance to enjoy themselves in music and please the audience, I always enjoy myself,” said Vybrant, whose real name is Andre Johnson, of the concert, which featured acts like Bounty Killer, Assassin, Mavado, Macka Diamond, Stacious and more.
Since the stage show last Saturday, the artiste has been busy at work, clocking studio hours and rocking street promotions as he work towards a great 2010. His breakthrough single, Ears Hard, was recorded on the Major Links Entertainment label, the same label that manages the St Thomas-born cultural act.
The single is creating waves on several reggae charts, both in Jamaica and internationally, and the tear-jerking video for the song is also a hit with television programmes. The song is an emotional tale of a friend who has been cut down by the gun because they would not listen to wise words of advice, and is said to have quickly made its way into sound system and radio disc jock collections because of how real and possible the scenario Vybrant paints with each bar and note of the song.
“I give thanks for the love that the song is getting, and I’m in the studios again working on some more music to hit the streets,” Vybrant commented, adding that his management label is 100% behind him and his creative endeavours.
“Outside of my own drive and my creativity, Major Link Entertainment is a driving force behind my career right now, and they believe in me and my music,” he said giving kudos to the entertainment company.
