Although not yet a household name in Jamaica dancehall artist Donovan Lawrence aka Mad Dog, who hails from western Jamaica, has built up quite a fan base in Barbados and other parts of the Caribbean such as Bahamas and Guyana. Over the last few years he has been travelling to Barbados where was given the moniker the 'Caribbean Bwoy', to perform on events such as Crop Over 2008, Barbados Wet Fete, the Digicel Beach Show (2008) and Reggae on the Hill. His Caribbean jaunts have given the opportunity to rub shoulders with the likes of soca and calypso stars such Alison Hinds, Machel Mantaon, Edwin Yearwood, Peter Ram, Hyper Dog, Bunji Garlin, Destra Garcia, Fayon Lyons, Patrice Roberts, Skinny Fabulous and Saucy. At home Mad Dog has performed on major events such as Reggae Sumfest and Sting.
Mad Dog credits his unique style of music which is a fusion of dancehall and soca for his success in the eastern Caribbean where he has scored with popular singles such as his hit single Early Morning which topped the Digicel Caribbean Hot 30 Chart two years ago. This song was produced by Caribbean Records out of Barbados and is a crowd favorite both in Jamaica and Barbados. He also has several other singles which have brought him much attention in Barbados such as In Deh In Deh, Bounce Pon It, Mek Yu Bumper Roll, Fire Fire and I’m Addicted.

Mad Dog recently returned home from a trip to Guyana where he performed on an event dubbed Crank and Jam along Charly Blacks. He is currently promoting two new singles titled Wine It Gal and Curry Chicken both songs are on the Twelve9 record label.
