Bounty Killer will headline the concert called Release the Chains 2010 as SIBR Entertainment, the organizers and promoters of the event, attempt to make a big bang with its inaugural event in Sligoville, St. Catherine.
"This dynamic event vows to unite communities through sports and music. No doubt this will be achieved at "Release The Chains 2010". The theme which highlights the ability of Jamaicans to overcome obstacles, seeks to align Release The Chains 2010, with the rich heritage of Sligoville - the first Free Village in Jamaica," Champie, the head of SIBR Entertainment, said.
SIBR is an acronym for Success is the best revenge.
According to Champie, Release The Chains will offer an extensive schedule of games and competitions for all ages. Ranging from football to potato sack races to trivia contests, prizes will be awarded for the winners of all competitions. Various food stations will be located throughout the entire venue, serving authentic Jamaican cuisine, while jerseys and t-shirts will be provided for official competitors. The VIP area will have a tent areas set up for media workers, performing artistes as well as sponsors.
"Once the day events are completed at 5 p.m., the venue will be transformed to make way for the nightly performances. We would like to enforce the message of love and unity throughout the event," Champie said. "This event promises to be a full day of fun for all. It will deliver never-ending vibes coupled with an enhanced ambiance and high energy performances."
SIBR Entertainment aims to utilize proceeds from this event to implement infrastructure which will support education programs as well as extra-curricular activities for the youth of the community. We have already established strong relationships with community leaders (churches, Members of Parliament, business-owners) to assist in implementation of the various programmes.
