Last year’s Best New Artist (Male) Konshens, is also in the runnings in a big way and has to his credit six nominations in the categories Song Writer/Lyricist of the Year, Singjay of the Year, Collabo of the Year (Dancehall) Song of the Year, Recording Artist of the Year and Cultural/Positive Artist of Year.

Queen Ifrica is the lone ‘lioness’ among the ‘lions’ with six nominations in total, in the categories Recording Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Cultural/Positive Artist of Year, Song Writer of the Year and Singjay of the Year.

Other Artistes securing multiple nominations include Richie Spice, Elephant Man, Ding Dong, Gee Whizz, I-Octane, Chino, Flexx, Charley Black, Jahvinchi, Black Ryno,Romaine Virgo, Tifa, Lisa Hype, Spice, Stevie Face, Wasp, Merital, Voicemail, Cherine Anderson and Phyllisia.

The publication of the List of Nominees for this year’s Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards, has triggered off wild voting well beyond the initial projection of the organizers. An EME Awards spokesman said; “We had such a mad rush to our website www.emeawards.com that as soon as we announced the nominations and opened up the voting platform, we had to speedily upgrade the capacity of our server to accommodate the increased traffic.” “In fact, we had to upgrade our server’s capacity to terabytes in order to facilitate the existing and growing traffic” .He further stated that. “Internet votes represent 30% of final scores, the other 70% is based on Chart success(es) and overall impact”.

Considering the number of A-Listers that will be attending the 6th Annual EME Awards on February 04, the world awaits the fashion statements that will be made on the Red Carpet which opens up at 7PM. The Awards Ceremony itself gets underway at 8PM. The EMEs remain an invitation only event but will be aired on CVM TV, CVM Plus, Hot 102 FM and other local and international media affiliates.
