Sizzla Kalonji and The Fire House Band recently embarked on a ten-week European Tour promoting album, Ghetto Youth-Ology. Already one week into the tour, Sizzla and the crew have performed excellent shows in Rotterdam, Geneva, and Groningen with over thirty more shows to go in Germany, Sweden, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, and France.
Rave reviews have come in from the press in those areas amazed at how great Sizzla performed. The venues were packed to capacity representing all nationalities, genders, and religions sharing the music and love of this prolific Reggae artist. The rich sounds from The Fire House Band have the crowds excited and enjoying the music. The atmosphere is one of joy, peace, love, and unity. The messages in Sizzla Kalonji's music are uplifting, motivating, peaceful, yet urge the youth to strive and work hard for a better tomorrow.
The songs Sizzla sings represent the cries from the Ghetto youth that continued to be marginalized and ignored by many. He focuses on many hot tracks off the new album including these favorites of former editor of Vibe Magazine Rob Kenner; "Stop It Right Now" is one of Sizzla's toughest tunes since his 2002 classic Da Real Ting. "Why are you fighting, my brothers?" he sings in a pained voice. "Why are you fighting, my sisters? Conspiring against one another, Babylon is a trickster." The song's chorus is an urgent, unambiguous rebuke of the gunplay: "War, crime, stop it right now…. The SLR, nine, go lock it right now."
Sizzla takes the time to cater to the needs of his hungry fans by pulling from his catalogue of over 50 albums to include songs like Black Woman & Child, Thank You Mama, Woman I Need You and others. He even sings Beautiful, a song described by Chris Blackwell as brilliant and a masterpiece. Sizzla Kalonji gives the people a special treat, which includes the newest European favorite Crucial Times, featured on his upcoming album to be released later this year.
