The overcast conditions didn’t put a damper on the second leg of the RE School Tour. As the tour bus approached the Clan Carty High location, students congregated hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite entertainers.
The entertainers were more than willing to sign autographs and mingle with their fans, but on an afternoon where the threat of rain hovered, the entertainers put their plan into action.
The plan worked as students hung on to their every utterance, as lyrics of positivity, abstinence and matters of the heart as well as social issues pelted like missiles.
Instrumentalist and beat boxer Mixing Lab, Prodigal Son, Timberlee, Goddy Goddy, Alaine, Tifa, G Whizz, D'Angel, I Octane, Chino, Jah Vinci, Konshens and Etana all reinforced to the students the importance of abstinence and staying in school while maintaining good grades and positive attitudes.

The excitement permeated the school compound as students sang along word for word to the songs that the entertainers threw at them.
Not to be left out, main sponsors Coca Cola and Claro, as well as associate sponsors Mothers Patties and the National Family Planning Board got in on the action, with giveaways and goodies for the students.

Matthew Mothersill from the Ministry of Education entertained the students with his abstinence and values and attitudes presentations which where integrated throughout the afternoon's proceedings.
But as the final entertainer for the afternoon, Etana, riled up the students with her large catalogue of ear candies, the sky swelled and burst at the seams with pockets of rain.
Dancehall artiste Chino, one of the ambassadors on the tour, said it's an honour for him to be able to reach out to his young fan base. 'As always it's an honour to be on this semester's school tour. It's a fun and happy environment vibing with fellow entertainers and performing my hits to my youth fan base and most importantly, performing my duty as a role model campaigning the message which is abstinence makes sense', Chino explained.
And as the bus drove out, screaming students clutched posters and memorabilia and waved to the entertainers. Mission completed. The message of abstinence seemed to have hit home.
