Born Marvin Clarke on December 15th 1982, Dancehall artiste Wasp burst on the scenes with an incredible drive to make it big in the Dancehall Industry. An excellent songwriter and crafty DJ filled with fresh and creative ideas, Wasp is eager to show off his creativeness to the new generation of both hip-hop and dancehall fans worldwide
Wasp recently did the video shoot for the "Unfair Officer" track, which has been released and getting lots of web and air plays both locally and internationally. The track is not only a catchy true-to-life experience for most party or events promoters, but is sure to go over well with, individuals who are feeling somewhat pressured by today systems, especially with the now new rules, regarding the time constraints on ending time of social events.
The words of the song explain Wasp's frustration and lack of opportunities:
"Life is so unfair mi not even sell a crate a beer and by time mi look bear police come inna mi lawn seh the sound haffi turn off...
I don't know weh a gwaan
a who invite dem inna mi lawn
but still mi nah worry mi self cause mi know fi a fact
seh dem a fight ghetto youths before mi born....
Nuh lock off the sound officer
and gwaan like yuh tek me fi clown officer
hey when nuh music nah play inna the ghetto
and the shots dem a echo oonu seh we up to no good..."
Wasp has found a tack, that no doubt will take him way into the summer and beyond, and seemingly will be a selector's anthems similar to the success of Assassins "Caan Lock Off The Dance". No doubt Wasp will not only be hitting the streets and airwaves, as the video opens many opportunities, for not only individuals to hear and relates, but to the very clear visual depiction presented by the video. 'Unfair officer' is sure to make a positive mark for 2009 and beyond for Wasp.
