hyah-slyce-feel-so-fine.jpgMelodious singer Hyah Slyce hopes to one day take a 'slice' out of the music business and claim it as his own. Born Germaine Bernard and hailing from St Elizabeth, Hyah Slyce has always had a love for music for as long as he can remember.

Drawing inspiration from persons such as the legendary Bob Marley and the versatile Sizzla Kalonji, Hyah Slyce one day hopes to make as diverse and powerful an impact as these two artistes. Slyce began his career at the turn of the millennium in 2000 after graduating from high school where he began to visit local studios in the hopes of sharpening his musical skills and prowess. Throughout his earlier years the singer was uncertain about his name often going by 'Slyce' and 'Slycer' before settling on Hyah Slyce, which was recommended to him by acclaimed singer Mikey General.

After struggling for a while establishing his name Hyah Slyce has without a doubt paid his dues, and is now voicing at some of the top studios in Kingston attaining street credibility at the same time. The artiste first began generating serious buzz on the airwaves with 'Poor Again' on the 'Girlfriend Riddim' from the Cash Flow label in 2007. He immediately delivered another local fan favorite with "Sex Sales" on the Disturbance Riddim from the Loyal Soldiers Label. However It was when he met with Coppershot Productions for the cultural love song 'All & All' that the reggae community began recognizing his talent as an important player. A video soon followed which was directed by innovative female trio Scorpio 21, and has since received rave reviews locally and internationally.

This serves as a form of reinforcement and additional motivation for me to continue making good conscious music that everyone can embrace. I am just thankful that I am doing what I love and in the process trying to make a positive contribution to the music industry and my country".

He continued, "it's important that I continue to work hard and stay focused to make the most of this opportunity and fulfill true potential. I hope to spread love and joy to the masses through my music".
Slyce credits his performances in Belize, Suriname and St. Martin as important milestones so far and has continued to build his fan base with inspiring performances. More recently the artiste opened for reggae international sensation Sean Paul in Ivory Coast for his African tour.
