Born of the name Darrio Johnson born in the small district of Deeside, Trelawney, Darrio Dane-Jah was exposed to music by his mother, a singer whom due to lack of funds had to place her music aside and moved to Kingston in search of employment opportunities.

Billy Suer popularly known as DJ Billy from Bass Excess Sound System who has proven to be an instrumental person in Dario's development. Being his science teacher, and his first manager, he assisted him getting stage shows in Kingston and rural areas. Darrio went to every stage show, no matter what the cost or price.
Nocturnal Production, which represents both local and international artist, produced a one-drop rhythm call Fire Ball that featured artist like Sizzla, Luciano and Ras David. From that Dario penned is first official song title "Shub Out".

His satisfaction was not fulfilled as he was hungry for more, and this drove him to perform at sting once again in 2008.
