chris_brown_kids_choice_awards_nichelodeon.jpgWith the bad, spotlight surrounding Chris Brown since he battered Rihanna's face which has resulted in him losing out on several major deals and endorsements. Finally, it seems as if a bit of positive spotlight is shining for the troubled star as kids' station Nickelodeon has decided not to remove Chris Brown or Rihanna from their Kids' Choice Awards nominees listing.

OutAroad.com gets to understand that over 5,284 parents have so far signed a petition requesting that Chris Brown and Rihanna to be removed.

Even though Chris Brown nominated for two awards Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song for "Kiss Kiss," he will not be attending the awards - confirmed by a spokesperson for the show.

Nickelodeon statement:

The network stands by its decision not to remove Brown, who has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, as a nominee for the show set to air on March 28. "Like all our KCA nominees, Chris Brown was nominated by kids several months ago based on his body of work as a performer," a Nickelodeon rep said. "And the kids who vote will ultimately decide who wins in the category."

I am a young parent and my daughter won't be watch that damn Nickelodeon station anymore what kind of example are they setting these artistes must understand that from once they set foot into the world of entertainment they automatically becomes role models, Nickelodeon is sending a wrong message just as how if a queen wins a title and lose it if she disgrace her country why can't chris brown and rihanna lose their nominations too

Everyone who is sitting and judging needs to get a life....why do you expect an entertainer to be a role model?....I am so sick and tired of people looking to these individuals as role models for their children...be the rold model that your child need, tell them to look to their teacher, their doctor, people who they encounter in their everyday life who work hard and can set an example.

People make mistakes, Chris brown did just that, in one heated moment he crossed the line, should he be condemn to hell?....When did we become God?

What we should be doing is hope that he gets the help that he needs and he learn the lesson that he need to and become a better man. Are we not tired of seeing our young black men go down a path where no one is there to help them?...one incident does not make a person an abuser and they should not be condemned....People learn to forgive, learn understanding...

Why should you parents protest against RiRi when she is the victim. What happen? you parents think she should be punished for being a victim?

cherange and anonymous i totally agree with your comments. No one should depend on other people to grow their child. As vybz kartel said in an interview "IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO GROW YOUR CHILDREN" as a parent i depend on no one to teach my kid her moral and ethical values. parents are living together with their children in the same household yet they perform domestic violence in the presence of the kids. Hence the Criss Brown/ Rhianna saga should not have so much of an impact on your children.Everyone seems to be pressuring Criss and not remembering that it takes two to fight. The guy is only human and apart of life is about making mistakes. One can only try to be perfect he cant be perfect. Lets just hope for the best for both and bear in mind they are young.

I think these parents are being hypocritical and stupid. Would they have us believe that they've never fought in front of their on kids before? The fight between Chris Brown and Rihanna is the first or last between a man and woman.

I dont really like either of them but they sing some fairly decent songs that I enjoy. I think this is what these parents are forgetting. The award is based on the songs kids listen to and like.

Furthermore these hypocrites are just being plain jealous and stupid. Why should an entertainer be forced with the duty of setting an example for somebody else' kids? It makes no sense.

The bottom line is if you want a role model for your kids THEN YOU NEED TO BECOME ONE YOURSELF.

A couple things life as thought me:

1. There are 3 sides to a story
2. It's not what you know it's what you can prove

Based on the pics (if real)of the 2 artiste's that the media has shown. Chris seems to have come out of this "fight" for those who consider this a "fight" based on what evidence they are privy to, relatively unscathed. For him to beat Rihanna like what was shown one would assume he felt his life was in danger or in some grievous physical harm. If this was not the case then he should go to prison and get psychiatric help.

For commenters saying that persons need to mind their own business, ask yourself this was was your daughter would you simply keep out the way?

My advice to any person who is being abused or has been hit would be to report the matter to the relevant authorities and get the HELL OUT.

However the final decision lies with the "abused".
