A man was badly beaten at Beres Hammond's studio late last night by three men. OutAroad.com understands that the man who sometimes acts as a security personel at the studio was forced to stay at the studio untreated even after he pleaded with the men to take him to the hospital.

A concerned citizen who heard the man shouting for help summons the police who quickly arrived on the scene but were denied entry onto the property. Entry was however granted after they called for backup.

According to a source two of the men were arrested in connection of the brutal act while the main man who started the beating said to jump the fence, another was seen throwing a bag over the fence - the police investigated and the bag wasn't found.

OutAroad.com managed to get in touch with the victim who confirmed that the allegations are indeed true. The matter was report at the Half-Way-Tree police station.

OutAroad.com understands that Internationally acclaimed reggae singer Jepther "Luciano" McClymont also known as the Messenger was charged yesterday by detectives from the Half-Way-Tree police station for harbouring a fugitive.

Luciano was arrested on Friday following allegations that he was sheltering a wanted man who is responsible for the death of several police officers. He was however released on bail Monday afternoon after his lawyer Delano Franklyn filed a writ demanding that his client be charged or released.

On Tuesday March 24, cops invaded Luciano's residence on Westminister road in search of a fugitive named Andrew Senior aka Conqueror who engaged the cops in a bloody shootout that lasted for more than two hours. The wanted man was found dead while three cops were injured during the process.

Dancehall artiste Jeffery "Assassin" Campbell's performance at the highly anticipated Red Stripe Live concert held over the weekend ends prematurely after he was escorted off stage for lines he uttered in one of his latest songs titled Pree This.

ATLANTA --- A Northern Georgia District judge sentenced T.I. to one year and one day in prison on felony weapons charges Friday (March 27), calling the rapper's plea deal "experimental" but a success.

Judge Charles Pannell Jr. told the rapper he had more than exceeded the court's expectations, and he hoped his case would inspire similar plea deals.

As a part of the plea deal T.I. (real name: Clifford Harris) struck last March, the year-and-a-day sentence was expected. The rapper is also required to complete 1,000 hours of community service before turning himself in, and another 500 hours after completing his sentence. He also must pay a $100,000 fine.

Tip is scheduled to report to prison voluntarily within the next six to eight weeks. However, the judge acknowledged that the rapper has agreed-upon commitments what will not allow him to enter prison before May 19.

T.I., in a charcoal-grey suit and matching black dress shirt and tie, delivered a sober speech to the judge. His 10-minute speech details his misguided youth, the death of his best friend Philant Johnson in 2006, and his desire to use his mistakes for a positive end.

Tifa has recently released two blazing tracks that are currently receiving high rotation across the local airwaves. "Spell It Out" is an uptempo dancehall track produced by Ward 21, in which Tifa showcases her lyrical talents and versatility in a style never heard before on the dancehall scene. Veteran reggae singer Luciano was released yesterday after several hours of interrogation concerning a shooting incident between the police and a wanted man, which took place at the singer’s residence - leaving one man dead and three officers nursing gunshot wounds. A .45 semi-automatic pistol was recovered.

Even though Luciano weren’t slapped with any charges, he might still be pruned to face criminal charges for the bloody shootout.

According to reports, it is said that the wanted man Andrew Senior also known as Conqueror who died during the shootout was placed on the cops' wanted list for shooting four police men in Central Village, St. Catherine before making his escape.

The cops will be conducting a search at Luciano's house in the presence of his lawyer today.

The credibility of the RETV School Tour was enforced on Tuesday March 24, when the cadre of acts who are supporting the theme of Abstinence…..Mek Sense, delivered gigantic performances and rocked The Queens High School like a tremor that crept out of no where.

When the Tour bus drove onto the school compound, it was evident that this wasn’t going to be a normal afternoon.

After being entertained by their fellow students and treated to games and giveaways courtesy of RETV VJ Supa Hype and the Vibes Master Jerry D, the students at Queens High School were in for a rude awakening.

OutAroad.com understands a man and a police operation team engaged in a bloody shootout in the Westminister area on Tuesday (March 24, 2009) leaving one man dead and three cops injured.

According to a source, the shooting took place outside the residence of popular reggae singer Luciano. However, before the gun battled started it is understood that the cops got a tipped off that a wanted man was frequenting the area. The cops then went in search of the man searching from house to house including several other entertainers who lived in the area. It is also alleged that the cops went away with Luciano and his son. Sizzla Kalonji's JA$25M Richings Ave residence located in Liguanea was burnt down early Sunday morning just minutes after the deejay left home.

Scores of residents tried to assist the fire brigade in every way they could but nothing could have stopped the blazing fire from ravishing the house.

Its been a while since Dancehall has had a real chance at crossover success. Thanks to Alliance gunners Mavado and Serani, Dancehall is at the forefront of US popular culture once more. For the first time ever two Dancehall videos made New joint of the Day in the same month on BET's 106 & Park, with the recent airing of Mavado's So Special and Serani's No Games. With appearances on Billboard and many high profiles, TV shows, magazines and concerts, manager of both artists Julian Jones-Griffith is very pleased with the way things are developing.

"We are working around the clock to take this to that coveted next level," said Jones-Griffith. "Space is very limited on radio playlists and charts etc for Dancehall so to have two artists with that crossover potential at the same time is very positive but very challenging. Because of that limited space, the general feeling in the US music industry is that Serani and Mavado are somehow competing against each other. We are trying to change that conception so that in the future Dancehall has more room to breathe. Both have their own lanes and so far, we've been successful in ensuring both acts continue to rise. With sales in the industry at an all-time low and with many of the top radio stations in dire financial trouble in the US it’s a new battle field so we have to adjust the game-plan constantly. Rihanna looks like she is finally getting over boyfriend Chris Brown - the star was seen getting "pretty cozy" with one of Lindsay Lohan's former flames.

The finalists for the Caribbean/International leg of Pulse’s Caribbean Model Search (CMS) Reality TV show arrived in the island on the weekend to start taping the TV show, which will air around the Caribbean and in US, UK and African markets starting in April. CMS is the region’s largest and most successful model search attracting thousands of entrants from around the Caribbean and other parts of the world. Last year the event was extended to the United Kingdom and the 2009-10 events will add parts of Latin America, Africa and wider Europe to the list of countries represented.

The night started off a bit slowly but that was surely no indication of the unmatched vibe and energy usually exuded by the DJ’s of the QUAD nightclub. In no time, the liquor started coming in & so did the guests.

Fast rising Dancehall sensation Latifa Brown, more popularly know as TIFA, has left quite an impression on dancehall enthusiasts in Canada.

After recently performing at Statement, a charity event recently held in Toronto, Canada, with part proceeds in aid of the Bustamante Children’s Hospital, Tifa was requested to do several interviews for local radio stations including, CHRY 105.5 fm, as well as, interviews for Lyric DVD Magazine, L3 Magazine, Elite Magazine and, LoveTheVibes.

Tifa gave a stellar performance to her Canadian fans, as she belted out crowd favourites at the show including “Crawny Gal” and “Bottom of the Barrel,” which fans were able to sing line by line.

Dancehall legend Bounty Killer was in Negril Tuesday night, performing at Jungle nightclub packed with Springbreakers.

The performance was in aid of Soul Rebellion's "Buy a Brick" charity campaign that raises money to build schools and libraries in Jamaica.
"With Bounty being the Poor People's Governor he was a natural choice to help us with the campaign," said Richard Sloan, head of Soul Rebellion. "It was a great success and our aim is to buy thousands of books and computers for schools in Jamaica and Bounty lending his support has given us a tremendous lift."

The "Buy a Brick" campaign targets Springbreakers, encouraging them to contribute to Jamaica during their visit here, not just come to Jamaica party and leave.

"I am always an advocate for a positive movement in my country," said Bounty. "I always try and make myself available to help such causes and this was an honour to be a part of as it helps Jamaican kids directly. Soul Rebellion are doing a great job as there is always a gap between the needs of the people and what Government provides and they are helping to bridge that gap."

A film crew from BET were also in attendance, shooting a documentary on the project.

OutAroad.com understands that Desmond Ballentine more popular known as Ninja Man might be able to help the cops along with their investigation in a situation where one man was left dead.

According to CCN, the incident took place on Tuesday March 17, 2009 at about 11:15 a.m. - however, the police are still carrying out investigation but in order to give a full report of what took place, this can only be done once Ninja Man turn himself in to the police.

The rumors are true: Troubled couple Chris Brown and Rihanna have recorded a duet together just days after the "Run It" singer was charged with two felonies in the alleged assault of his pop star girlfriend.

A source close to the record's producer Polow Da Don confirmed to CNN Thursday that they pair had hit the studio together.

"My heart goes out to both Chris and Rihanna for what has happened in the past," Da Don said in a statement. "They are both great artists to work with, and I wish them well."

Another source described the song to People magazine as "sweet and sentimental" and said it "expresses the challenges of a love relationship."

An affadavit released last week stated Rihanna had been punched, choked and bitten in the alleged attack and after Brown's charges, many high-profile names in the entertainment industry have rushed to cut off association with him or to rally for Rihanna, 21, to end their relationship.

The 'King of the Dancehall' became 'King of Belize' this past weekend when he inaugurated the Belize Reggae Fest Series in Belize City. Scores of Belizeans stormed the Belize City Center to see his Royal Highness Beenie Man, alongside Reggae crooner Anthony Cruz, Dancehall's 'First Lady' D'Angel, dancer Dyema, and DJ Andrew D of Irie Jam Radio.

The 'Doctor' Beenie Man sent Belizean Reggae fans into frenzy when he made a surprise appearance at the Santiago Castillo Plaza hours before the big event. Mobbed by throngs of eager fans Beenie eventually had to be whisked away for his own well being. 'Attitude Gyal' Dyema also made a big splash at that Plaza, as Belizean Dancehall fans were equally excited to finally see the 'Dutty Fridaze' dancer live.

"I have every Dutty Fridaze and Passa Passa video," states 17 year-old Belizean native Karen. "My mom won't let me go to the show tonight so I had to come down here and see Dyema and Beenie Man. I can't believe it," she says, moved to tears as Beenie Man shakes her hand."

"Sesyo", is a unique and signature phrase most commonly used by upcoming reggae sensation 'Khago' that definitely sets him apart creating a style of his own. Born Ricardo Gayle, 'Chicago' also popularly known as 'Cago or Khago' is no stranger to the local music scene.

In 2006, he placed third in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commissions' annual Popular Song Contest with his entry "Only if You Know" with which he also won best video. Here-entered the contest in 2007 with a song entitled 'Been There'; the song is a very mellow lovers rock which expresses his emotions of gratitude and abundant love for a significant other who has stayed by his side through difficulties and while facing severe adversity. The song received very favorable rotation on radio stations in Jamaica and the video has also been received a lot of attention.

With the bad, spotlight surrounding Chris Brown since he battered Rihanna's face which has resulted in him losing out on several major deals and endorsements. Finally, it seems as if a bit of positive spotlight is shining for the troubled star as kids' station Nickelodeon has decided not to remove Chris Brown or Rihanna from their Kids' Choice Awards nominees listing.

OutAroad.com gets to understand that over 5,284 parents have so far signed a petition requesting that Chris Brown and Rihanna to be removed.

Even though Chris Brown nominated for two awards Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song for "Kiss Kiss," he will not be attending the awards - confirmed by a spokesperson for the show.

The network stands by its decision not to remove Brown, who has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, as a nominee for the show set to air on March 28. "Like all our KCA nominees, Chris Brown was nominated by kids several months ago based on his body of work as a performer," a Nickelodeon rep said. "And the kids who vote will ultimately decide who wins in the category."

While on their recently concluded US Tour dancehall heavyweights TOK wasted no time in getting work done. The platinum selling group was busy in the studio recording with multi-platinum R&B singer Kelly Price. They recorded not one, but two tracks with the talented songstress.

The recordings which took place in LA include the brand new track tearing up local airwaves, titled "Bonafide". The Metro PCS 5 Borough Takeover Tour stops at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Tuesday the 10th of March. Dancehall superstar Serani is headlining the show alongside rapper Common and singing sensation Jazmine Sullivan, who is currently heating up radio and charts with Lions Tigers & Bears, following the huge success she had with Bust Your Windows and her Reggae-tinged breakout single Need U Bad.

"It's an honour to be on a bill with such great artists," says Serani, recently signed to Universal Republic Records. Since the release of reports that Rihanna and Chris Brown have reunited, this took place at P Diddy's Beach House in Miami, as began to anger a lot of Rihanna's female fans and industry insiders such as Oprah Winfrey and former Manhattan sex-crimes prosecutor Linda Fairstein.

Oprah Winfrey: "If a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again."

She also went on to say that, she would dedicate a program about the situation on her next show - Domestic Violence.

"I want to do a show about it, dedicated to all the Rihannas of the world."

The former Manhattan sex-crimes prosecutor Linda Fairstein went as far as to compare the Chris Brown, Rihanna's saga to O.J. Simpson's case.

"Many of the circumstances in her case were like the early warning signs in the O.J. Simpson case," Fairstein said.

She also mentioned the fact that Chris Brown choked Rihanna while saying, "Now I'm really going to kill you" is a particularly bad sign.
"Choking behavior is a very interesting factor. It's hands on, face-to-face. It's a very intimate type of violence," she said.

Next month, rapper T.I. is set to begin serving a one-year prison stint for pleading guilty to weapon possession.

Prropa Ting flows over the track with the clarity and confidence of a seasoned veteran- the latter being of great importance for an upcoming artist. If He maintains his style and strong delivery method, many good things will be in store for this artist.

Ordinarily, the posting on Chris Brown's MySpace page would be routine promotion for a musical artist at the top of his game.

Hardcore and gritty are just a couple of the words that can be used to describe Vibez Camp productions artist Lex Hype's new song 'Real G's'. Lex Hype creates vivid images of tough street life with his grimy lyrics, which he oozes over a haunting dancehall/hip hop beat. There is nothing soft about this song and he makes his persona clear to the listener in the first few bars.

After listening to 'Real G's for the first time, there is no doubt that this artist has excellent lyrical capabilities which he uses to flow effortlessly over this record. A month ago 'Real G's' might have had a chance of breaking into Jamaica's main stream dancehall circles but since the local government has banned all hardcore songs, Lex Hype may have to settle for underground status. All hope is not lost as the ban is not in play in the US so he has a shot at the overseas market.

If Lex Hype maintains his lyrical content and his infectious flow, the local and international dancehall community can expect great things from him.

Alliance member Mavado has been on the grind in the tri-state area this week, promoting the release of his highly anticipated album "Mr Brooks - A Better Tomorrow." As part of the promotion, he recorded an episode of BET's late night program "The Deal," which they introduced recently to replace the popular "Rap City" show. "The Deal" follows the same format as is predecessor, with an interview followed by a freestyle from Mavado.

The episode featuring Mavado will air this Monday March 9 at 2AM or possibly 2:30AM. Check local TV listings to confirm time.

Despite facing charges for allegedly abusing Rihanna, Chris Brown was spotted smiling and jet-skiing in Miami -- which did not sit well with fellow singer Usher!

Belizeans anxiously await the arrival of the "King of the Dancehall" Beenie Man this Saturday to launch the Belize Reggae Fest Series. Produced by American-based promoters Triple T Productions and Nuffmuzik Productions, the Reggae Fest is the very first entertainment series dedicated to bringing top tier Caribbean performers to Belize on a regular basis.
