With the incredible outpouring of unanimous support for Rihanna in the days following her being beaten up by boyfriend Chris Brown, one would be hard-pressed to find anyone who wants to speak publicly in support of Brown.
Which is why two stars who sort of tried to do that a little, are both taking it back. Terrence Howard and rapper T.I. had made statements that made it sound like they were saying that what Brown did wasn't the hugest deal in the world. And because they'd both like to continue to have careers, they're both retracting those statements.
Terrence Howard recently told reporters, "Chris is a great guy. He'll be all right... Rihanna knows he loves her... Everybody just needs to get out of their way." After, we imagine, being chewed out by his publicist, Howard took back that stupidity. Said Howard, "When they (paparazzi) asked me about Chris Brown the other day, I was in no way aware of what he had been accused of. Had I known, I would have never had said something so insensitive."
As for T.I., during his appearance on the Carson Daly Show, the prison-bound rapper said of Chris Brown, "Yeah, I spoke to him today. He cool, you know. I guess he a little concerned about the situation, but he's still the same Chris." Great. Because what everyone is really concerned with is whether or not Brown is the same old woman-beating man he was before.
T.I. continued, "Hey man, you people gotta remember, we celebrities and we entertainers but we still human. All of us. Don't expect us not to make mistakes 'cause we will."
After mulling that thought over for a little while (because normal "humans" probably shouldn't be smacking their girlfriends around either), he's taken it back. T.I. said that he "made a mistake of commenting before understanding the situation."
Great. Now Hollywood's caught wind of the whole pleading ignorance, "I thought I was taking flaxseed oil" excuse too.
