Vibez Camp recording artist Gary Henry, better known as Lex Hype aka Sicadis was born in Dunkirk, Kingston. Life wasn't always easy for Lex Hype in Jamaica where he was surrounded by everyday struggles and the violence of the streets.
Under circumstances where most black youths find themselves drowning Lex Hype kept his head above waters. He became an active student in school participating in sports, anything to separate himself from the street life. This idea of becoming a better man lead Lex Hype to music. What began as only an idea became a passion for Lex Hype.
At the age of 16 Lex Hype, as he is known by his peers and his steady growing fan base, started deejaying at local parties and clubs. Lex Hype's constant exposures to his native reggae music help turn deejaying into artistry. Lex Hype credits such legends as Buju Banton and Papa San for not only helping him master his skill but also helping him use his talents to the best of his ability. Lex Hype's versatility and ability to not only spit over hardcore beats but also sing to the ladies makes him unique. Lex Hype is definitely an artist to look out for.
Today Lex Hype has been given the creative freedom to develop his own style, a style and technique that will not only bring reggae music to the next level but all music!
