"He Who is Without Sin, Let Him Cast The First Stone..."

By K.A.L
Letter To The Editor

moses_photos_gospel.jpgIn light of the tragic news that has hit the Christian community regarding the passing of Gospel Recording Artiste, Kasim “Moses” Grant, I find it imperative to write this piece, why? because already the rumors, half truths and twisted facts are flying, belittling what this young man stood for all his adult life, and with an even more detrimental issue at work, the attempt of the enemy to erase his efforts in life with one last tragic mistake, the type of mistake that not only gives the body of Christ a black-eye in the eyes of the public, but also gives the enemy the type of victory he yearns for daily.

We have all heard the reports, the speculations, accusations and assumptions, but what really happened, did Moses have a gun, was it a licensed firearm, was it an illegal firearm, was he killed, did he commit suicide? The questions are many, and like always, the answers are few, but the twisted facts are many; so where do we go from here, do we condemn this young man without knowing what really happened?

Some of us already have, and some are unsure about what to believe, but forget what you heard, feel or even know to be the truth, because regardless of the facts, one thing remains true, we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, and like Jesus said, “He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone,” John 8:7.
ReadMore-color.jpg

I heard one person say that Moses was once a gunman, one even said he wasn’t saved, but if he was only 28 years old, and was saved for over ten years, then he was a man of God, or at least representing the faith all his adult life, right? And who are you, who am I to judge this man’s relationship with God?

That may neither be here or there in some people’s book, but just for the record, your opinion really doesn’t matter, because neither of us have a heaven or hell to put anybody in, and truth be told, we may not do one thing, but what makes us so different if we sin in other ways, isn’t a sin a sin?

It sure is, but we tend to forget these things in our rush to condemn, ignoring facts such as the first murder was committed by a man of God, Cain. Yes he was a man of God, he was making sacrifices to God, his parents weren’t born, they were created by God, he like his brother was special, but he was the first murderer. Then there is David, a man of God’s own heart according to the scriptures, also a murderer. The disciples of Jesus weren’t angels either. One pulled a sword and took off an ear, if he were alive today he would probably be pulling his Glock……..No, I do not know Moses, have never even met the young man, so no, this is not in defense of him, (Moses), per-say, if indeed his actions were criminal according to the laws of the land, but this is merely an effort to see the other side of the coin, because truth be told, with the investigations still pending, not many of us really know what transpired; so until we do, let’s keep the words of Christ in mind, “He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone.” The statement is clear, we are all sinners and have all fallen short of the glory of God, so who am I, who are you to condemn anyone, when you, likewise myself, are all guilty in one way or the other, of some type of sin, be it physical or be it a spiritual infraction.

Very few actually know what really happened, and one of them is not with us today. His wife mourns, family, friends and associates, all left in shock, so let’s not make it any worst on them, remember, even Jesus died the death of a common criminal, but that does not take away from Him being who He was, The Christ; The Way, The Truth and The Light, so let’s not make one wrong, (if indeed he was in the wrong) erase over a decade of good.

R.I.P Kasim “Moses” Grant

You know, I'm so tired of the fact that when christians do out-of-the-way things or lived sinfully, we 'sinners' are chastised with the "He Who is Without Sin, Let Him Cast The First Stone" quote for calling them out on it? Yes, we all know that there's no one who is without sin, but it is known that christians are supposed to set an example for us 'sinners', so when they fall below our expectations of living Godly don't try to chastise us for outlining their shortcomings because christians make no apologies for hitting out against people who are not christians and who they perceive as sinful. While most of us will not know the truth of what happened with Moses the fact remains he was a far way from being an exemplary christian, which he proved to people with his actions, so dont blame the people who saw that side of him for talking about it now.

Rest in peace me bredda. we are all human beings and we make mistakes and God knows sees that in us. No matter how much we try to do right we end up sinning dats why we need to earnestly seek God cuz he alone can give us the strength to overcome. David was a man after God's own heart even though he sinned and the reason for this is that he regretfully realized he sinned and earnestly asked God to forgive him.

@tugz..man u r straying from the whole point of the matter there is two way to travel this life and guess what each of us choose the journey that we want to go bcuz someone mess up dont mean that u gonna blame it on GOD and say he does not exist watch what u say about the almighty ok cuz some strange things happened to people in JA who blasphemed against him...hey r u black or white cuz it seems like u have a problem with identity.... u still in slavery man u need to get out ......

@talk u thing... a that really happen? sound as if u were there, dead man tell no tales. based on the evidence that police were looking for him before he died indicate he really had a gun.... but maybe since he is dead they are saying he had the gun.

now @talk u things" u said his cousin called his friends and they walked in the same direction as moses.....thats saying that his friends maybe killed moses,,, this is showing Moses did not kill himself!!!! now since u might be saying how him pull gun,,, then how dem kill him. friends maybe knocked himout and throw him over the bridge and he drowned.

anyone else agree with me?

Hey everyone,...whether Moses was right or wrong,....I just hope he had time to ask forgiveness,.....the same way some of us will cry out to God if something would happen to us,...and we're knocking on deaths door,.....and you're not sure if you are ready to meet God. Whether we shoot someone or have hatred and unforgiveness,..its all a sin. No differnce. Everyone just pray for his family that he has left behind and let this be an example to all of us. We really need to think about it,...am I ready to meet God? God bless you all and God bless Jamaica,.Eventhough I am not from there.

@Tugz - I am laughing and I am laughing because you yourself read/research something and believe in it. and that is the same way we ourselves research/read something and believe in it. So why u a fight our belief and THINKING that your belief is correct. Everyone has to give his/her own accord for what he/she believes in. So Leave the People dem alone.

@Can - I hear ya loud and clear, you do have a point..

I dont know Moses, and i dont know NOT one of his songs..i just know from what i read here on outaroad sey some folks liked him and some didnt. the ones who liked him, have a reason to..and the ones who didnt, have a reason to. why do we just leave it at That.

Say yes to Jesus:
Posted by Say yes to Jesus | January 29, 2009 6:27 PM

His life served as a message from GOD, miracles do happen. He was saved from multiple shots that could have taken his life.

It was GOD's bidding, let us embrace the will of the lord and use this as a message for dispute resolution.

A soft answer turneth away wrath but grievous words ( and actions) stirreth anger

1 John 4

Test the Spirits

1
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
3
but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
4
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
5
They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.
6
We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
7
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son[b] into the world that we might live through him.
10
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for[c] our sins.
11
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13
We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
14
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.
16
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
17
In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.
18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19
We love because he first loved us.
20
If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
21
And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

All you people out there that feel that you can make man or you were the ones who died for the sins of the world, you need to shut up. You search so far and wide to try and convince yourself that Jesus is not real but when you're in trouble the first name you call is Jesus Christ. Stop allowing Lucifer to use you. Hypocrites! Wipe the plank out of your eyes before you can see the speck in another's eye.

Atleast the Christians are wise enough to choose Christ and trust the journey that they follow. The fool shall say in his heart there is no God. Moses won alot of souls for Christ before he died, by ministering and teaching the gospel. He inspired me and a lot around me. He is a man of God and not a robot, he had lived in this sinful world and still grounded in the word. One thing the Christian community is sure of, and is his soul will definately Rest In Peace because God was and still is with him.

Do not let your ignorance get the best of you. This is what the enemy wants and you rather to serve him because that is the easiest thing to do. But Jesus is the only way, the truth and the light.

K.A.L, that was an inspiring piece and I hope people don't just read it but meditate on it.

Yes, there is no right way to look on what you think Moses did but it's not your place to judge either. The point of the matter is whatever he did and did not do God saw and he will be the Judge of that not us. And regardless of what happen he turned away from the world and look to Christ. How much of you strong enough to do so. All oonu think bout a fi party, fornicate, party, fornicate and please oonuself. Moses was and still is a man a God. A bad mind oonu bad mind di man because him changed around his life and start doing the right thing and every New Year oonu seh oonu a go change and can't change all now. A dat oonu fi go look pon.

A people like oonu sit down and just anxious for something to happen so oonu can blame Christ. Just like what Protina said oonu need to leave it alone and move on. Moses is gone and he is @ a better place. No more suffering and hearing backbitters. Him neva kill himself! That is all we do walk around and blame everybody like we nuh do nutt'n wrong. We need to come together man and comfort each other instead of talking bad against each other.

We a one blood oonu forget.. a God Almighty make us, we neva fall from sky.

I just pray that the Lord will comfort his wife and family through this time.

Wow, people are so against those who are Christians. It is so funny when we are sick or in need we are so quick to say Lawd help mi. I am not water baptized but I know for sure that God is real. I find that usually people who are so caught up in their little nasty, bad behaviors are always quick to criticize those that are trying to live decently. On the contrary, there are those who claim to be Christians but yet they do really bad things. All have failed and come short of the glory of God.

All of the above that is having a whale of a time condemning Moses and telling lies that he had a gun much less shooting people. It a shame what one will do for money. How much did you all get, $2000 or $10,000 for the gun story and a little more for the gal stories.

People with strong faith do not have time to idle because their brain is always thinking about positive things to do. Also getting married and living a respectful life. His life was centered on the Almighty and putting his life in the right way.
HOW ABOUT YOU ARE YOU PUTTING YOUR LIFE IN THE RIGHT WAY HAVE YOU TRIED WINNING SOULS FOR CHRIST GOING TO THE HOSPITALS AND PRAY FOR THE SICK HELP A CHILD IN NEED PRAY FOR THE PRISONERS HAVE MANNERS TO YOUR PARENTS, RESPECT OTHERS AND YOURSELVES.

Well, the good news is that Moses did all the above and more. He is bow with his maker because he was buried today. He will be missed by all who loved him and he lives on in all of our hearts. Job well done, humble servant of God.
