Legendary sound system Stone Love celebrates 36 years with patrons and honours the dynamic dancers of the dancehall culture at their anniversary celebrations grand fashion this year.
Scheduled to be held at the Mas Camp Village, Oxford Road, on Saturday December 13, The event will see Stone Love being joined by title sponsor Magnum Tonic Wine and Bullet Energy Drink. Known as one of the “foundation” sound systems in Jamaica, Stone Love has been pleasing audiences world wide for a remarkable thirty-six years. The brainchild of Winston ‘Wee Pow’ Powell, Stone Love has long celebrated its years of success by showing its appreciation in a grand anniversary celebration with the masses.
Last year’s celebration was also held at the Mas Camp and received rave reviews of performances from the likes of Tarrus Riley, Munga Honourable and Voicemail. Wee Pow promises an even better show. “The plan is to make the 36th year the best of all the anniversaries. We’re paying special attention to security inside and outside the venue as well as backstage” Wee Pow said.
The Stone Love selectors will be the main hosts for the night with DJ Slaughter as the main emcee. This year the awards section will pay special attention to the dancers that are the energy of every session. With many different awards function springing up over the years the Stone Love awards have managed to remain one of the most anticipated one by remaining innovative “ we definitely will find a unique way to present it.” Said Wee Pow.
