The reggae singer known as Eek-A-Mouse was charged Sunday with rape and kidnapping after a 23-year-old woman reported she was held against her will at an Outer Banks motel, police say.
The musician, whose real name is Ripton Joseph Hylton, had performed at the Port O’ Call Restaurant & Gaslight Saloon on Saturday before leaving some time after the show ended Sunday about 1:30 a.m., said Kill Devil Hills police Lt. Gene Johnson.
According to Johnson, Hylton, 50, from Los Angeles, then went to the Colony IV Motel in Kill Devil Hills, where the woman said the rape took place.
Hylton was charged with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree rape and possession of cocaine, all felonies, Johnson said. He also was charged with possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
He was released on $52,000 secured bond , Johnson said.
Before his gigs in Kill Devil Hills on Friday and Saturday, “Mouse” had appeared at the Jewish Mother on Aug. 14 in Virginia Beach.

Zebra has just been released from prison after serving 7yrs. for the same thing. What are these artistes trying to prove, I mean are they that backward, illiterate and stupid that the only way they can get a woman is by raping her. well i hope him get what he deserves and more when he goes to prison.

Please all of you before passing judgement wait until all of the facts are known. The woman in question is a police informant and a drug user. There were fans in that room with the entertainer that will testify that no one kidnapped her or raped her. She is a wacko that was dancing on the dance floor with a rat and was asked to leave by management. She came back to Mouse's room of her own free will and partied with Mouse and stayed around until the next day. We have a date and time photo of the woman sitting on the bed in the hotel room the next day around 1:00p.m. She is a LIAR and this is a BIG FRAMEUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
