Rihanna Gives Katy Perry the Kiss-Off

By David Jenison
Source: eonline.com

rihanna_swimwear_beach_blue_singer_artiste.jpgThis week Rihanna's a bad girl gone good.

Her new single "Disturbia" just gave the singer a third No. 1 hit from Good Girl Gone Bad and ended Katy Perry's seven-week chart-topping streak for "I Kissed a Girl."

Perry was the first female artist to hold the top spot for seven straight weeks since, ironically, Rihanna did it last summer with "Umbrella."

Rihanna's latest single made the two-spot jump to No. 1 after selling a week-best 148,000 digital downloads. Impressively, her previous chart-topper "Take a Bow" remains atop the Hot 100 Airplay chart, making this one of the rare times in which an artist simultaneously dominates the regular Hot 100 and the Hot 100 Airplay chart with different songs.

Good Girl Gone Bad originally scored just one chart-topper with "Umbrella," but Rihanna released a Reloaded version last June that contained the new hits "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia." As happens with bonus tracks on deluxe editions, fans often buy the individual tracks instead of the new version and this helps drive an artist's digital track sales.

My husband is a bisexual - What must I do?

mr_proppafix_logo.jpg

Hi Mr. ProppaFix - I am a well educated woman in a good job. I used to laugh at people that wrote to these advice columns, but I think that you do a really good job when it comes on to giving good advice. I have found myself in a real jam and I was wondering if you could help me out because I have nobody else that I can chat with face to face about my business. bisexual

I have been married to my husband for three years and we courted for five years before that so I thought I knew him but apparently, there were things that I didn’t know. The problems all started about two years into our marriage when certain things became apparent.

We have a family friend that my husband and I knew before we got married. I would to believe that they are only best friends as they spent a lot of time together and they even worked at the same company. The first sign of any problems happened when my husband proposed to me and at the time, I could not understand why his friend stopped coming round to the house as he used to. My husband said that they had a little conflict and were no longer on speaking terms. I accepted his explanation and thought nothing of it as the best of friends have conflicts from time to time.

Couple of days after I was doing some chores around the house and I found that my husband had left his phone and gone out with his friend. I have never had any reason to doubt his loyalty to me in any way, but for some strange reason - I decided to have a look at his text messages and I was shocked at what I found. There was a message in his phone that was saying that the person missed him and how long they haven’t been able to make love at their favorite spot in such a long time. As you can imagine I was so upset and I really didn’t know what to do. There was no name attached to the text. So I private my number and dialed and to my surprise - a man answered the phone. At first, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and I didn’t want to believe so I hung up the phone without saying anything. I called my closest sister later that day, she called the number and got the same person, and later we found out that it was my husband’s best friend.

What do you think about the feud between Vybz Kartel & Mavado – Real or Fake?

vybz_kartel_mavado_feud_song_artistes.jpgWhile Vybz Kartel and Mavado are not on good terms in Jamaica, the remix of ‘Gangsta’ by French producers Daddy & Hypa (D&H) is fast becoming a monster hit in France. The remix features Mavado, Vybz Kartel and newcomer Delus. You can listen to the Gangsta remix on the OutAroad music player on the right.

However, what we are here to discuss today is the feud between Mavado and Vybz - is it real or fake?

OutAroad.com team went on the street and these are the views of the people.

Jahmel Francis, Security, Age: 29
Mavado and Vybz Kartel have some personally issues going on, down to even the little kids them can tell that they are not friends. What I would love to know - were they real gangsters before them become entertainers? Them need fi pick which one them want to be because we can’t have kids looking up to them as role models, it might sounds crazy but a lot of teenagers look up to them.

Wayne, Conductor, Age: 28
Mi love dancehall music and mi love see a little clashing gwaan more time but from what mi see taking place since of late, the thing seems as if it’s turning into a gang war. Look how long Beenie Man and Bounty a clash and yuh never see them physically war each other. The only feud that I believed is fake is the feud between Beenie Man and Bounty.

Barbara Hutchinson, Un-employed, Age: 32
With all the good things that are happening for Jamaica internationally, we don’t need this kind of negative vibes fi come steal the spotlight that was given onto us by our strong and hard working athletic team. I do not listen their songs but I listen the news and at least once or two times a year them headline the news.

"Ain't no time fi 'Kotch Aroun'" – Kris Kelli

Listen to Kris Kelli's 'Kotch Aroun' on the OutAroad music player on the right

kris_kelli_kelly_female_singer_artiste.jpgArtist: Kris Kelli
Song: "Kotch aroun"
Production: Mario Music factory
Rhythm: Smooth sailing rhythm

‘Kotch Aroun’ done by one of Jamaica’s finest female reggae singers Kris Kelli is the kind of bubbly feeling song that we have grown to expect from her. It is a light easygoing reggae tune without any hip-hop or R&B influences. Just pure Jamaican baseline, lyrics and melodies with a catchy chorus that will have you singing.

This song will definitely become an instant hit with the ladies as Kelli’s lyrics are centered around female liberation and independence in a male dominated world. She hits good topical issues in Jamaican society - one of which speaks about deadbeat guys who depend on their women for financial support.

“Dem come in like a grab in a barrel, eye red-a than a sorrel,” are some of the few lines that best describes Mr. “Kotch Aroun”

"It's just great," she says, giving a coy smile and playfully striking a Playboy kind of pose. The August issue of the German edition of Playboy features a review of Ce'cile's newest album, Bad Gyal, making her among the few dancehall artistes to appear in this publication. She joins the likes of Shaggy and German reggae acts Mono and Nikitaman to be featured in the review section

"Of course, this feature in Playboy magazine is really a plus. It is very rare for Jamaican dancehall musicians to make this publication and hopefully this means that more of us will make it in the review pages. Millions of people read this magazine, so immediately there will be a lot of exposure for me and the product.

Deputy Pulls Gun On Sean "Diddy" Comb's Crew

pdiddy_car_cops_hiphop_mogul.jpgA Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputy pulled a gun on hip-hop mogul Diddy’s entourage during a routine traffic stop early on Saturday, but the unpleasant incident was swiftly cleared up, according to a spokesman for the artist.

Sean “Diddy” Combs and his crew were driving on Sunset Boulevard in a seven-car convoy when the deputy pulled over one of the cars for having an expired registration tag.

Sheriff’s Dept. spokesman Steve Whitmore said that two others vehicles in the convoy also stopped and several men approached the pulled-over car. Thus, the deputy became concerned, called for backup and pulled out the gun in order to keep the situation under control.

“The men approached the deputy wanting to know what was going on and did so in an aggressive verbal manner,” Steve Whitmore told E! News. “There were about seven of them who walked towards him and the deputy, fearing for his safety, unsheathed his weapon and as soon as he did so, it was over,” he added, as reported by E! Online.

It was an Electrical Problem - Vybz Kartel

vybz_kartel_fire_bombed_entertainer.jpgDancehall artiste Vybz Kartel sent out a press release stating that his car was not fire bombed even though residents strongly believed that it was the act of a motorcyclist who sped from the scene seconds after the car exploded.

However, according to reports from Vybz Kartel, he had no idea of his car being bombed by a motorcyclist. He also mentioned that his Honda had an electrical problem, which might be the caused for the car to explode.

The deejay added that, he has nothing against Mavado and even if Mavado has something against him, it is not evident. Vybz Kartel said he has no time to focus on negative things right now as his focus is 100% about making money - money over war.

That had a great ring to it and it truly was the best word to describe my personality and the kind of vibe that I wanted to transmit to the listeners’, Flamze revealed. Rihanna is not broke

rihanna300x400_money_broke_def_jam.jpgRihanna being broke is the latest rumor in circulation on several international entertainment gossip websites and blogs. It said that her record label Def Jam. did not properly fund the R&B superstar Rihanna. However, the question is - can Rihanna be broke after her recent album Good Girl Gone Bad sold around 5 million copies worldwide?

According to information on nationnews.com a family member told the SATURDAY SUN these types of rumours come with the territory.

"We never addressed rumours in the past and we are not going to start now," said the member of Rihanna's family.

This is how the rumor got started

Stories have been appearing on several international websites and blogs that the Barbadian-born superstar only has US$20 000 left in the bank.

The information was brought to the public by a Patricia Williams, who claimed to be Rihanna's business manager who was fired by the Grammy-winning songbird.

The blogs read that Williams was fired after Rihanna discovered there was only US$20 000 in her bank account. The story was first published on Page Six, an on-line edition of the New York Post, from which Williams said she was fired "for no good reason, all in ignorance" and is "livid" with Rihanna and her management company Rebel One's decision to fire her.

Terry Linen is definitely one of Jamaica's best reggae singers

terry_linen_man_artiste_singer_jamaica.jpgTerry Linen is easily one of reggae music's greatest talents to have emerged in the new millennium. Blessed with a brilliantly distinctive voice, the diminutive singer has cemented a place in the hearts of reggae lovers worldwide with a combination of his haunting melodies and wonderful songwriting.

Born Kiplin Simpson, he grew up in the district of Red Bank, he attended the Red Bank Primary and Red Bank High schools. Being the first child for his mother, his grandparents were the ones who look after him, while his mother hustled to put food on the table, for him and his five siblings. His father migrated to England at the time. Eventually, Terry moved from the quiet district of Red Bank to the sleepy bustle of Mandeville to live with his mother who had remarried.

When he graduated from school, he hooked up with the legendary Black Kat sound system where he cut dubs. It was during those inspirational Black Panther days that Terry became great friends with local artistes who were on the rise which included General Degree, Tony Rebel and Garnet Silk who had a tremendous influence on the impressionable singer.

Usain Bolt sets third world record as Jamaica win 4x100m

Rick Broadbent in Beijing
timesonline.co.uk

Usain Bolt added a third gold medal to his rapidly-expanding collection as a devastating third leg set up Jamaica's successful assault on the world 4x100 metres record.

The time of 37.10 seconds was stunning, taking three-tenths off the USA's mark, set 15 years ago yesterday, and underlined that these Games have seen a changing of the guard. Cynics would say that is only part down to Jamaica's ascent, with the demise of the USA also a significant factor. Certainly, defeats for the likes of Sanya Richards, Allyson Felix and Jeremy Wariner, albeit that he did lose to another American, mean the holy track trinity go home with their tails between their legs.

The USA's efforts to clean up the sport have certainly had an impact on performance, with Marion Jones in jail and Justin Gatlin banned. But Jamaica's rise has been astonishing, headed by Bolt's staggering feats and the first clean sweep in the women's 100 metres. The relay, with Nesta Carter, Michael Frater, Bolt and Asafa Powell, is the icing on the cake.

Trinidad & Tobago took the silver and Japan the bronze as Britain's title went to deserving recipients. Britain, of course, had departed the previous night when a botched changeover saw them disqualified.

Sprinter Usain Bolt as an NFL wide receiver?

By Mike Duprez
the-dispatch.com

082008bolt_usain.jpg

Somewhere, somehow an NFL scout must be drooling at the thought of Usain Bolt catching long touchdown passes.

There's nothing wrong with dreaming. Bolt is the fastest human being in history, he's a freak of nature at 6-foot-5 and if he could just be taught how to catch the football, who could possibly cover him? ESPN's Chris Berman would call him Usain "Lightning" Bolt.

Bolt may never play in the NFL, but the idea of a world-class sprinter doing such a thing is not unprecedented.

The best known sprinter who played in the NFL was Bob Hayes, a double gold medal winner in the 1964 Olympics (100 meter dash and 4x100 relay). Of course, Hayes wasn't strictly a sprinter. He did also play football at Florida A&M, but track was clearly his best sport in college.

Winning two gold medals put Hayes at the top of the track world and perhaps he could have won more gold in 1968. But the Dallas Cowboys had other ideas, drafting Hayes in the seventh round of the 1964 NFL draft.

D&H’s ‘Gangsta’ remix - Mavado feat. Delus & Vybz Kartel Taking Over France

You can listen the Gangsta remix on the OutAroad music player on the right

delus_vybz_kartel_mavado_france_jamaica.jpg

French producers Daddy & Hypa’s ‘Gangsta’ remix featuring Mavado, Delus and Vybz Kartel is now one of the hottest remixes in France. The single is a force to be reckoned with in the French streets and is quickly becoming an anthem in other European countries. This song shows the versatility of upcoming underground dancehall star Delus, who formed half of the duo called Sojah.

Surprisingly the young lad (Delus), managed to stand up firm against two of dancehall’s giants Mavado and Vybz Kartel as his lyrics, melody and militant flow easily places him within their league. This song shows the entertainment fraternity and the world that Delus is a capable and bankable solo artist like his brother Konshens, who made up the next half of the then duo Sojah. Konshens is currently creating huge waves in the dancehall scene both locally and internationally.

Each artiste ‘rips up’ the D&H produced rhythm that is complimented by a gangster guitar melody, easily making it appealing to hardcore dancehall fans. There is nothing soft or pretty about this song, you can literally feel the hardcore streets of Jamaica, France or any other country through the music.

The musician, whose real name is Ripton Joseph Hylton, had performed at the Port O’ Call Restaurant & Gaslight Saloon on Saturday before leaving some time after the show ended Sunday about 1:30 a.m., said Kill Devil Hills police Lt. Gene Johnson.

According to Johnson, Hylton, 50, from Los Angeles, then went to the Colony IV Motel in Kill Devil Hills, where the woman said the rape took place.

Jamaica's Bolt breaks 200 mark, gets sprint double

Source: www.ap.google.com

usain_bolt_200_world_record_19.30_beijing_jamaica.jpg

BEIJING (AP) - Usain Bolt of Jamaica broke the world record by winning the 200 meters in 19.30 seconds Wednesday night, becoming the first man since Carl Lewis in 1984 to sweep the 100 and 200 gold medals at an Olympics.

Bolt is the first man ever to break the world marks in both sprints at an Olympics. Not even Lewis or Jesse Owens managed that.

Showing what he can do when he runs at full speed all the way through the finish - something he hadn't done yet in the Beijing Games - Bolt eclipsed the old record of 19.32 seconds set by Michael Johnson in Atlanta in 1996.

Walker wins women's 400-meter hurdles - Olympic Record

Source: ap.google.com

Melanie_Walker_beijing_400_record.jpgBEIJING (AP) - Melaine Walker of Jamaica has won the gold medal in the women's 400-meter hurdles in an Olympic record.

Walker won in 52.64 seconds in Wednesday's final, with Sheena Tosta of the United States taking silver in 53.70 and Tasha Danvers of Britain third in 53.84.

Walker's win came minutes after her countryman Usain Bolt completed a sprint double by winning the men's 200 in world-record time.

The hurdles final was wide open with world record-holder Yulia Pechonkina skipping the Olympics because of a heart problem, two-time world champion Jana Rawlinson out injured and reigning Olympic champion Fani Halkia expelled after testing positive for a steroid.

Usain Bolt's next task: Take down the 200 world record

By Philip Hersh | Tribune Olympic Bureau
Source: chicagotribune.com

usain_bolt_jamaica_beijing_worldrecord.jpgBEIJING - It sounds so simple.

The Big Man hambones the final 20 meters in Saturday's Olympic 100-meter final and still covers the distance in 9.69 seconds, breaking the world record he set earlier this season.

The Big Man began running the 100 only this year and has much more experience in -- and a greater passion for -- the 200.

So the Big Man will take down the record in the long sprint, the 19.32 that remains otherworldly 12 years after Michael Johnson set it in the 1996 Olympic final. No one has come within three-tenths of a second since.

After all, no less an expert than Johnson said two months ago, "I'm ready to kiss the record goodbye, if he keeps on doing what he has been doing.''

Jamaica's Usain Bolt has done more than that since getting Johnson's attention May 31 with his first 100 world record of 9.72 seconds. He has run the fifth fastest time ever in the 200, a 19.67, and the three leading 200 times of this season.

No Beenie Alliance – "I am not here to own no man"

By Krazy Katty
OutAroad.com Writer

beenie_box_girls_town_album.jpgBeenie Man made it clear on Vibes 93.8FM with Sarah C that there is no need to form an Alliance, Empire or crew, as it makes no sense to go that route. According to Beenie Man, his aim is not to over shadow other artiste’s careers because it is not in his best interest to “own nuh man”.

Sarah C of Vibes 93.8FM:
Now you are an original dancehall singer in every sense of the word, you don’t seems to do the things that other artistes do. As far as I can see there is no Beenie Alliance, there is no Beenie Empire, there is nothing like that, you have stayed away from that kind of things - you preferring to do collaboration with other artistes could you tell us the reason for that.

Beenie Man:
It is not for you to go out there and tell a person that I am going to mek you and I am going to mek you become this artiste (superstar) when the person is already an artiste before you meet them. Now like Baby Cham, I could a say that Dave Kelly build him because he was actually like a robot, he wasn’t a deejay in no form what-so-ever. So when you ago meet an artiste with his talent and because yuh sing a song with him and get him out there then you ago try to own him (bad idea). Look at T.I. I did the song “Dis Badman Yuh Get Shot” and that was his first hit song, I could have seh I am the one who break him to the world - I could have seh I introduced Mya to the Dancehall world – I could have seh I introduced Tanto Metro & Devonte, I wrote “Everyone Fall In Love” and actually partly produced it.

Her private area smells - what should I do?

mr_proppafix_logo.jpg

Mr Proppa fix
I am a twenty-year-old student of a prominent tertiary institution in the corporate area. Most girls at school find me attractive as they say that I am a ‘face boy’ and I work out so I am quite muscular. Something has been bothering me for a few weeks and I need your advice on what I should do.

I am relatively popular at school, so I know many females from all different faculties. A few weeks ago, I was a home sleeping when a girl who said that she was a secret admirer called my phone. She said that she got my number from one of her friends and she saw me on campus and really wanted to get to know me. We agreed to meet up later that night at her place.

When I got to her house later that night, I was surprised to find out that I knew her and not only that- she was in my faculty, but in a different year. I had no idea that she was admiring me on that level. She was not really my type because she was a bit on the chubby side but I thought - what the hell - might as well make use of the opportunity!

To cut a long story short, I ended up spending the night, but it was not what I anticipated at all. When things started to get very hot between us and I started to kiss her and caress her body everything was fine. It was all good up until the point that I started to strip off her clothes and I noticed a foul smell in the room. At first, I was wondering, almost in denial, as to where the smell was coming from, but the more I took off, the worse the odor got. I am a very fussy guy when it comes on to hygiene but I know that I am not exaggerating when I say that this girl's p*ssy smell worse than a dead decomposing person (and I know what a dead person smells like).

US protest of women's 100 final rejected

BEIJING (AP) - The U.S. track and field team's protest of the women's 100-meter final at the Olympics was rejected Sunday night.

The Americans asked that the race be reviewed because of a possible false start by Torri Edwards, one of the country's sprinters.

Edwards herself said she thought she false-started. She wound up finishing last as Shelly-Ann Fraser led a Jamaican sweep of medals in the dash.

Jamaican Fraser wins women's 100m gold medal

BEIJING--Shelly-Ann Fraser led the other two Jamaicans to win all the women's 100 meters medals on Sunday evening at the Beijing Olympic Games.

Fraser clocked her personal best in 10.78 seconds before Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart finished, both in 10.98, and shared the silver.

Simpson said, "We made history. Just like yesterday Bolt set a new world record. We are all great athletes and I'm very excited about the tremendous achievement we've made for our country."

"Today's victory boosts my confidence to win the 200m. We will also do well in the 4x100m. I believe we can beat the Americans," she said.

Commenting on Jamaica's medals sweep, Stewart said, "I don't know if I should cry, smile, jump. I think this is a fabulous thing for the three of us to win the medals and for Jamaica to get one, two, three. What else can you say?"

The Jamaican squad smashed the American fleet joined by Lauryn Williams, Muna Lee and Torri Edwards, who were hot candidates for the title before the Games.

The Jamaican women replayed the legend created by their countryman Usain Bolt on Saturday night on the same track in the Olympic main venue. Bolt sliced the men's 100m world record by three hundredths of a second to a stunning 9.69 seconds.

Jamaica's Bolt Wins Olympic 100 Meters in World Record Time

By Dan Baynes

Aug. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Usain Bolt won the Beijing Olympics 100 meters gold medal in a world-record 9.69 seconds, gesturing to the crowd and slapping his chest before crossing the line.

Bolt, a 200-meter specialist nicknamed "Lightning,'' finished 0.2 second ahead of Trinidad's Richard Thompson at the Bird's Nest stadium. Walter Dix of the U.S. took bronze in 9.91. Fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell was fifth, while Tyson Gay of the U.S. failed to qualify for the final of track's premier event.

The 21-year-old Bolt, who only took up the 100 meters as "speed work'' to prepare for his favored 200 meters, became the first Jamaican and second athlete from the Caribbean to win the 100-meter dash after Trinidad's Hasely Crawford in 1976.

Today's final had been billed as a showdown between the three fastest men in history.

Bolt held the previous world record of 9.72, having lowered Powell's mark of 9.74 in May. World champion Gay set a U.S.-best 9.77 at the U.S. trials, yet ran 10.05 in today's second semifinal and was edged out for fourth place by teammate Darvis Patton. Only the top four advanced.

The 6-foot-5 Bolt is the favorite to win the 200 meters gold medal in Beijing. Gay, the world champion at that distance, failed to qualify after straining his hamstring in a heat at last month's U.S. trials.

What's wrong with me?
Why do I feel like this?
I'm going crazy now

No more gas in the rig
Can't even get it started
Nothing heard, nothing said
Can't even speak about it
All my life on my head
Don't want to think about it
Feels like I'm going insane
Yeah

It's a thief in the night
To come and grab you
It can creep up inside you
And consume you
A disease of the mind
It can control you
It's too close for comfort

Throw on your break lights
We're in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice
Watch out, you might just go under
Better think twice
Your train of thought will be altered
So if you must faulter be wise
Your mind is in disturbia
It's like the darkness is the light

Am I scaring you tonight
Your mind is in disturbia

cindy_wright_naked_miss_Jamaica_universe_2006.jpg

The beautiful and sassy Cindy Wright, who copped the Miss Jamaica Universe 2006 title, was the centre of attraction in the May issue of First Magazine.

First Magazine is one of Jamaica’s most creatively designed and with breathtaking photography. The issue in which Cindy appears is titled The Girl Next Door Is Dead, and features some amazing semi nude shots, that brinks on awe-inspiring creativity.

This issue can be considered as one of their best thus far to hit the streets. Cindy executed poses that would rival that of any other international model. However, the majority of the credit should be given to Peter Dean Rickards, the founder and Editor of First Magazine, for producing some excellent photos.

Lil Wayne Is The Music Of Champions, Ask Michael Phelps

LilWayne3.jpg

The world watched in awe as Michael Phelps set a new Olympic gold standard Wednesday, winning the 10th and 11th titles of his career. Competing in his third Olympics, Phelps surpassed Olympic legends Carl Lewis, Paavo Nurmi, Larysa Latynina, and Mark Spitz, who all won nine golds in their careers respectively.

As most athletes know, music can help create a winning mind-frame. Boxers often walk out to the ring with their favorite track blaring in the background. Football and basketball teams can usually be found getting amped up in the locker room to a playlist of songs specifically designed to gear them up for the game. So what does an 11-time Olympic gold medalist listen to while readying himself to break more world records? He calls upon the current gold medalist in Hip Hop--Lil Wayne.

When asked by The Today Show what music he listens to while preparing to swim, Phelps paused before replying "Lil Wayne- 'I'm Me'" which includes the champion-themed lyrics:

"The hottest under the sun/ aint nobody f**kin' wit me, man/ and you already know that pimpin'/...f**k up my dreams; somebody gon' die tonight" and "Aint nothin' gonna stop me, so just envy it/ Hey, I'll accept a friendly quit/ I'm me/ bitch, I'm me/ so who you?/ you're not me/ you're not me/ and I know that aint fair, but i don't care"

Lil Wayne, a champion in his own right, has sold over 2 million copies of Tha Carter 3 in only eight weeks--a feat almost unheard of in today's slumped music industry.

Beenie Man & D’Angel - “Parental-ship” or Relationship?

By Krazy Katty
OutAroad.com Writer

beenie_man_dangel_wife_marco_dean_son.jpgTongues have been swaging at home and abroad about the ‘new found relationship’ between Beenie Man and D’Angel.

They are not yet officially divorce and recently there has been regular spotting of the two together. The Doc even went as far as inviting his ‘estrange’ wife, of less than a year, to sizzle with him at Beenie Sizzle (Stage Show).

While some persons are speculating that their flames still burn deep, others are of the opinion that Marco Dean, their son, is the pulling force that keeps them together.

The action of Beenie Man and D’Angel has become the mantelpiece of roundtable talk, and OutAroad.com has been pulled into the saga by our loyal fans. We have received countless phone calls and emails questioning the relationship between two of dancehall’s most public figures. The mails started pouring in nonstop after D’Angel performed on Beenie Man’s Sizzle, held recently in Clarendon.

Kanye West Wants to Make You Fat While he Makes Money And Probably Laughs at You…

By Ian Dransfield

fatkanye_burger_fast_food.jpg

Kanye West seems to be continuing in his quest to win at everything forever.

Not content with taking the world of music by storm, the world of blogging by monsoon, the world of being cool by tsunami and the world of producing by… drizzle… Kanye West is now moving on to the world of making people fat by feeding them fried patties of ground up cow-knees.

Not personally, of course - that would be surreal.

No, Kanye is merely opening ten Fatburger fast food joints around Chicago, rather than actually serving all who walk through their doors with his priceless smile and boundless arrogance. And a burger.

West’s company, KW Foods LLC, have picked up the rights to build the stores around the Chitown area, thus infecting countless local residents with great big wodges of fat to force down their gullets. A sound business move, we’re sure.

But why, aside from wanting to kill lots of people by making them fat, would Kanye West want to open ten fast food ‘restaurants’ (using the term as loosely as possible)?

Maybe it’s to get away from his music career and down to a more homely, normal job than he’s been used to over the last few years? At least working in a burger joint he wouldn’t be all that bothered were he to turn up to work eight hours late.

In fact, he’d just get sacked for that.

Rihanna's Take A Bow Lyrics - It's Over Now

rihanna-picture-take-a-bow-lyrics.jpgHow about a round of applause
A standing ovation

You look so dumb right now
Standing outside my house
Trying to apologize
You're so ugly when you cry
Please, just cut it out

[Chorus]
Don't tell me you're sorry cuz you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught
But you put on quite a show
You really had me going
But now it's time to go
Curtain?s finally closing
That was quite a show
Very entertaining
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

Grab your clothes and get gone
You better hurry up before the sprinklers come on
Talkin? about, girl, I love you, you're the one
This just looks like the re-run
Please, what else is on

[Chorus]
And don't tell me you're sorry cuz you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught
But you put on quite a show
You really had me going
But now it's time to go

bounty_killer_beenieman_vybzkartel_elephantman_mavado.jpg

Since the start of this year several artistes have faced the court for using expletives on stage during their performance. Most dancehall insiders think it’s insane to charge artistes for using expletives as dancehall events are adult shows and artistes should not be held responsible for patrons who bring kids at these events.

Mrs. Lynval, Age: 33
"I ‘m not a hundred percent with the idea of charging the artistes for using expletives on stage but sometimes I think they need to tone it down and try to find creative ways of expressing themselves".

Rodriquez Smith, 28 - vendor
"The government should look into the issue because these words that are not permitted to use in Jamaica on stage are frequently used curse words on shows overseas and no one gets charged. Words like b*mb*claat, r*ssclaat are made up words, I have no problem with those, but when they are going to use f**k, p*ssyh*le during there performance then they should be charged for using those words because that’s what you called international curse words".

Delroy Sharp Age: 33 - high school teacher
“I can understand where cursing has its place in the stage show environment as most of the time it serves as a means of expression and also ‘hypes’ up the crowd. As with anything else, I think there is an appropriate place and time, so it should not be done out of context of even focused on someone. At the end of the day adults should be able to enjoy themselves to the fullest in an adult environment".

Swedish Police Take Heat For Sean Paul Arrest

Sean_Paul_jamaica_reggae.jpgCaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. Aug. 12, 2008: Did police in Sweden go overboard in the arrest of reggae superstar Sean Paul and hundreds of fans?

Some reggae promoters think so, including the man who organized the Uppsala Reggae Festival, where Paul, nine other performers, and up to 300 fans were arrested on Friday for marijuana possession.

'The way they treated Sean Paul and other artists was totally unacceptable,' Uppsala organizer Yared Tekeste told a Swedish publication. 'They searched his hotel room when he was not present and went through wallets and other personal belongings'.

Tekeste said he believed law enforcement officials targeted Paul to make an example of him. Out of the festival's three days they chose the day he was to perform to make the mass arrests.

'Both artists and staff feel humiliated,' said Tekeste. 'People were crying backstage. Some of the artists were so angry they planned a demonstration outside the police station. But I managed to prevent that.'

Caribbean nationals involved in the New York reggae scene agreed that Paul may have been set up to prove a point.

'He's the one that sang, 'Just gimme the light and pass the draw.' What did they expect?' asked television producer Shaun Walsh.

But concert promoter Sharon Gordon believes there's a double standard for reggae concerts, and Paul may have been a victim of it. She said venues charge her more than the usual fee because they want to hire extra security. 'There's always that stigma that I have to fight - the idea that reggae means ganja and lewd behavior,' said Gordon.

My Husband blames me for financial setback

mr_proppafix_logo.jpg

Hi, Mr. Proppa Fix

I have three children with my husband and he has a 25 year old from a previous marriage. here is my problem we recently filed bankruptcy about one year ago he had vowed to me that he would not tell any of his family members about our financial business especially with the bankruptcy, however he told his son who lives in Florida 300 miles away from us .He tells him all of our financial and personal information, I even overheard him on the phone. I asked him why he told him our secret and he said ‘so what’- he has a business degree in finance and he knows what he is doing. I feel like it is none of his damn business degree or not.

The step son was always asking us to refinance our home when he was working at the mortgage company!! I didn’t want my house refinanced at the time, but he still continued to call us every day and damn harassing me. His topic of conversation all the time is about money, that’s all he talks about and quite frankly it is disgusting!! He talks fast and in circles and he asked my husband who gets our house when we die and if we have a life insurance policy, and he tells my husband things like oh your house isn’t worth what we are asking for. I overheard my husband saying that he wants a divorce from me because of the financial setback is all my fault and that I am bipolar and that he wants his son to come here and get in my face and tell me what to do. What the hell is going on here?

My husband also 2 years ago called his ex girlfriend up and then lied to me about it. She called his cell phone that he left on the kitchen table and it has been one thing after another with this man - strange voices on his cell phone as well- females I might add. I want the divorce and I told him that 2 years ago. So please help me and get back to me I am so mad and angry and upset I know my marriage is done but my question to you is why he feels he has to tell his son all of our personal and financial information. He can’t do anything for us unless he plans on bringing us a suitcase full of money! This is a kid who loves to talk and is a big bullshitter and just wants money from his dad and to nose and pry in our business- get back to me.

Digicel Rising Starsʼ From Yendiʼs Eyes - "I appreciate the critics"

By Yendi Phillips

Yendi_phillips_rising_stars_host.jpg

As the new host of Digicel Rising Stars, I am privileged to work with the rising talent of Jamaica. What I love most about being a part of this competition is the chance to bond with the contestants, talking with them and getting to know them a bit more. As the competition progresses and the number of finalists decreases, Jamaica is able to judge the talent a bit more closely.

Of course, the finalists are not the only persons being watched. As the new host, I am aware that many persons have advice and comments and I appreciate the critics. Just like the finalists, I am adjusting and having fun at the same time. I am trying to just let things flow, stay natural, and let my personality run free.

The contestants have also allowed their personalities to run free, and in Sundayʼs (August 10) show, the eight remaining contestants from the publicʼs vote last week joined the Producerʼs pick (Tiffany) to create a passion of R&B hits. The performances generated a sizzling vibe as the contestants sang their hearts out asking Jamaica to make them a part of the lucky eight come Friday.

The finalists are finally listening to the judges and stepping up their game. This week we saw more performances that were powerful enough to please even the judges. Though I can't take any sides and have to remain neutral, here's a quick rundown of what happened this week:

Reggae star Sean Paul pays surprise visit to youth summer basketball camp

sean-paul-1.jpgMONTREAL - At first, Tiffany Lussier brushed it off when she heard rumours reggae mega-star Sean Paul would make a surprise visit to her summer basketball camp.

The 11-year-old broke out in tears of joy Wednesday when Paul showed up and she was asked to sing with the Grammy Award-winning artist in front of her fellow campers.

"When the people said he would come, I thought it wasn't true and they were just joking. . . I never thought in my life that I would see him," Lussier said.

Paul dropped by to offer advice about life to several hundred campers who listened intently while sitting on the huge gymnasium floor at Montreal's Dawson College.

"There are ups and downs in life, just like waves in the sea," he said.

"When you're up on top you're feeling good, but that's not the only feeling you need to get used to in your heart, in your brain, in your soul."

The 35-year-old Jamaican, who won a Grammy in 2004 for his reggae album Dutty Rock, told the youngsters that being down is sometimes a part of life.

"Learn how to swim. . . so you can reach back up to the top," he said.

As he left to prepare for a concert, Paul told reporters he loves to talk to kids.

"There are so many negative things, so where I can, I encourage good stuff like summer camp," he said.

"Kids learning how to control their bodies and control their minds is good stuff."

The summer camp teaches children, aged six to 18 years, the fundamentals of basketball.

It also teaches life skills to marginalized young people from different social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

The basketball "academy" was created in 1992 by Trevor Williams, a former basketball player on the Canadian Olympic team.

What do you think about Yendi Phillips hosting Rising Stars?

yendi_phillips_miss_jamaica_world2007.jpgYendi Phillips won the Miss Jamaica World 2007 title and was placed in the top 15 at the Miss World finals. Earlier this year she was given the chance to become the next Digicel Rising Stars host taking over from long-time host Denise Hunt. Other persons who were vying for the spot are TV personalities Renée Garel (Lady Renée ), Miss Jamaica 2006 winner, Sara Lawrence, and contestant Sanique Vacianna.

Ramona Hudson, Age: 25
I am going to give you my honest opinion Yendi Phillips is god damn boring as hell, she needs to be her self and stop trying to be what she can’t and that is Denise Hunt. I don’t know why Denise is no longer the host but they need to get her back on board.

Arlondo Becket, Age: 29
I love Yendi Phillips but I don’t think she’s doing a good job as the Rising Stars host, I am not a professional in tv land but I can definitely identify that she’s a weak host. Maybe they decided to used her because of her beauty but to be the Rising Stars host you have to be ghetto when it’s time to be ghetto especially when they are doing to search for talents on the road.

DJ Craig, Age: 21
I am not going to put all the blame on poor little Yendi because both she and the competition boring. The competition lacks talent from both the contestants and Yendi Phillips. The best Rising Stars season was when Christopher Martin won and I don’t think it’s going to get no better than that for now.

Should I tell my husband about my threesome?

mr_proppafix_logo.jpg

Dear Mr. Proppafix

I have some burning issues that I have to sort out before I will be able to progress with my life. I am a 28 year old married woman living in upper St Andrew with a blossoming career in marketing. My husband a handsome - well known businessman that many women consider attractive and throw themselves at him on a daily basis. We have been married for close to four years now and so far our relationship has been wonderful.

There is a huge skeleton in my closet that is getting to me; even to the point where I find it difficult to sleep at times because I feel so guilty. About six months into our marriage, I was doing some shopping on the mall one weekend when my ex- boyfriend who worked with a clothing company, called me and said he wanted to fit some of the new clothing that had just come from abroad. I hesitated but eventually agreed to pass by his place.

I had no intention of doing anything but trying on some clothes but when I was in the changing room, my ex opened the door on me and one thing lead to another and we ended up on the floor sexing each other like two mad people. He knew I couldn’t resist him because he was always the best lover I ever had. We made love a long time and I could tell that he really missed my body. The problem occurred when his friend who was in the other room sorting out some clothes ‘accidentally’ walked in on us and I couldn’t believe that my ex actually offered him ‘some’ instead of running him.

Elephant Man & Konshens tempted fans at Temptation Live

By Krazy Katty
OutAroad.com Writer

Elephantman_temptationlive_negril.jpg

An overwhelming burst of energy ripped through the Jungle Nightclub, Negril this morning as the fast rising Konshens and the ‘Energy God’ himself, Elephant Man, turned the place upside down.

Konshens was in a no nonsense mood. He came onstage after an extended wait that saw Black Chiney unleashing some hard hitting songs. Their stint behind the turntables was well appreciated as they dropped some dub plates that awoken the sometimes sleepily crowd that has been partying all day long.

The momentum climbed suddenly after girl group MBC left the stage and Konshens was introduced. He came onstage singing the hit single Winner, before warming the crowd with his fairly young but effective music catalogue. For the song Clap It he asked for three females onstage, however it was not forthcoming as they though his ‘young artiste $10,000 reward’ was not enough. Konshens also did Rasta Imposter, Dance Down, Woman Ago Kill Mi, and capped off his high energy performance with a song for his mother that was well received by the audience.
