The response towards our latest feature - ‘Lost In The Music’ has been fabulous. We have received tons of emails with lots of names that some of our readers request us to feature. There are names on some lists that surprised us here at OutAroad.com and we will be paying close attention to those artistes in the coming months.
This week in ‘Lost In The Music,’ we will be featuring Predator - ‘The War Editor’.
The slang “mad, sick, head nuh good,” raged like a wild fire throughout Jamaica, and even caught on overseas. However, as Bob Marley sang: “Yuh can fool the people sometimes, but yuh can’t fool all the people all the time, so now you see the light…” Well the world has seen the light and have stepped into it and left Predator in the dark.
At the dawn of 2000 Predator was so hot that even internationally acclaimed dancehall artiste Elephant Man and his protégé at the time Kiprich ‘borrowed’ his ideas and turned them into local hits. His songs Nah Nuh Head and Head Nuh Good stuck to the tongue of thousands and Predator looked destine to make it big.

His acquaintance with the Alliance, dancehall’s most notorious troupe, seemed as if it would take the ‘Mad Editor’ places. Well, The Alliance and its credibility as a dancehall force is fast fading and one cannot say that Predator’s career followed suit. What actually happen is that Predator’s career crashed into an alien before the demise of the Alliance.
People seemed to have gotten tired of his lack of creativity and soon Predator began to drift with the northbound winds. With his current status Predator is no longer high on the ‘food chain,’ and has fallen to being a prey of the merciless dancehall arena.
The last time OutAroad.com caught a glimpse of Predator he was trying to beg his way into a party, something he would not have had to do in his days of stardom. There was no entourage, only a mad soul roaming.
I will not pass any judgment on ‘Mad Head’, but what I will say is that if he is to come back into the limelight and sustain his presence he has to be creative. His coalition with the Alliance needs to have more meaning, as he seems to be the ‘go for’ of the union these days.

Predator vs Alliance...
I would seh predator never had a chance to mek it any where. Him catch a vibez and then let it go. But that would be false... Alliance is like a crutch... Young artist need to start learn how fe promote and market themselves, rather than depend on people fe do it fe dem. Alliance is nice fe JA, but outside a dat it carries no meaning... Jus a sense of false worth... Out of the many thats in the Alliance only a few shine... Its like a dream of wanting to be in a club from a youth and when you finally get de chance to join you realize its not all what its hyped up to be. Predator was like tires and Alliance was the truck and the wheel fell off. Well Alliance get a new pair a rims (Movado) let se how long de ride gonna last... No disrespect to Alliance but these are times in my eyes where upliftment of our people is needed and violence and segregation needs to end! I see very few positive moments coming from the Allia...

Predator was an artiste who I considered to be a rising star back in 2003-2004. He quickly fell out of the limelight, but he had a few songs that I liked very much, such as "Mad Me" and "Mad, Sick, Head Nuh Good".
His link with the Alliance did not bear fruit for him, which is unfortunate. Hopefully, he would go back to basics and rebuild his career rather that give up altogether.
On the subject of DJ alliances, I think when certain DJs get popular, others in the group get lost and forgotten in the rush; an alliance should build the careers of all its members, not just a chosen lucky few.

Everyday people a try criticize Alliance. Di man dem come up wid an idea an it has been working for several years. If yuh check rap music yuh realise seh dem use di same formula and it works. Bad Boy bus Biggie, Lil Kim, Mase.... Tupac, Snoop and Dr Dre did innah di same camp, Cash Money bus Juvenile, Lil Wayne and the list goes on. At the end of day yuh haffi have talent and hits fi stay in this music business, a nuff yute a try fi years an cyaan even get a one song play pon radio, whether dem in crew or not.

YUH KNOW THAT ALL OF YOU THAT COMES ON THESE SITES AND TRY TO TEAR DOWN THE ALLIANCE WE DON'T CARE.CAUSE WE'RE ALL ABOUT BUILDING.NOT EVERYONE IS GONNA GET RICH AND HAPPY FROM TIS BIZ CAUSE ITS A HARD SELL AT BEST.BUT IT'S JUS LIKE BLACK PPL TO TEAR EACH OTHER APART.WHY HAVEN'T ANYONE POSTED ALL THE GOOD WE'VE DONE IN VARIOUS COMMUNITIES? BUT THE MEDIA NEVER PORTRAYS ANY GOOD WE DO.BUT WATEVA.PREDDIE NEVA MEK IS CAUSE HE DIDN'T MOVE WITH THE TIME.HE NEVA FOLLOWED UP WITH SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE GRAVITATED TO.AND IT'S MORE THAN JUS SLANGS THAT MAKE U A GOOD ARTIST.

Y'all REALLY DONT KNOW ABOUT MUSIC. If u knew music, u wud understand that there are many hot artistes in the country. And every artiste has a time to rise, DEPENDING on wat WE the fans and the economy wants. HE MAY NOT BE PROMOTED AS MUCH AS HIS FRIENDS, but he is definitely doing songs. Music is a business not a vibes, Get knowledge b4 u talk.

"What actually happen is that Predator’s career crashed into an alien before the demise of the Alliance."
Well unless you ppl dont know what demise means cause u r de only media reporting de demise of alliance. if unno nuh like de alliance, nothing nuh wrong wid it but to spread false propaganda is shameful.
