
12 ounces flour
8 ounces margarine
8 ounces brown sugar
4 eggs
1 ½ pounds otaheite apple prune
(or regular prune)
2 cups wine
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon mixed spice
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 teaspoons orange rind
2 tablespoons browning
1. Blend otaheite apples in wine and
set aside
2. Cream margarine and sugar until
soft and fluffy
3. Sieve all dry ingredients together
4. Beat eggs into creamed mixture
one at a time
5. Fold in flour mixture and fruits
alternately
6. Fold in remaining ingredients
7. Bake at 350 degree F for 1 ½ hours
