From cutting strictly dub plates in his early days to touring extensively outside of Jamaica, Terry Linen, OutAroad.com Break Out Artiste for the Month of June, is one of reggae music’s great waiting to explode on the international scene.
The St. Elizabeth resident have recorded songs that have stucked to the lips of many worldwide, including his biggest hit to date Couldn't Be the Girl for Me. He was also widely recognized for the reggae cover of Whitney Houston’s Your Love Is My Love, which ‘shot up’ reggae charts worldwide.
Terry Linen’s career started in the mid ‘90s, however it was in 1996 when he recorded Rainbow Never Touch the Ground on the Kutchie Rhythm for producer/songwriter Anthony Red Rose that people began to take notice of the young singer. His next single Jah Jah You Save Me also received raved reviews overseas.

Linen then began receiving assistance from the musician extraordinaire Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Gitsy, Jazzwad and Dean Fraser. He went on to do a collaboration with German star Gentleman on the single Jah Jah Never Fail, which appeared on Gentleman's 1999 album, Trodding On.
His debut album in 2001, self-titled Terry Linen, which was distributed by VP Records, was a success and Linen went on to tour North America and Japan. Despite all of this success, Terry Linen is far from a household name within the shores of Jamaica.
According to Terry Linen, the downfall of his popularity in Jamaica is directly linked to a lack of promotion.
“The radio stations always a play Terry Linen thing, but people never know that is me. I never put out any video to put an image to the voice in the past. Back then, management was hiding my image. I now work under Uplifting Music who does my thing. They have my career dealing with now,” Linen explained.
