Mr. Proppa Fix- My man has a small d**k

mr_proppafix_logo.jpg

Dear Mr. Proppa Fix,
I read your advice column yesterday (last week) and was impressed with the advice you gave to the young man. I have my own dilemma and would like your advice.

I am a 20 year-old woman attending a tertiary level institution in the Montego Bay area. I consider myself very attractive and most guys compliment my figure. I am also an outgoing person who enjoys meeting people.

I have been dating this guy for two months, he is a perfect gentleman, and he always tries to give me anything I want. He makes a respectable living and he is very progressive and ambitious as he is always looking for new opportunities. We connect on a social level, however, the problem is that he has a very small d**k - when I say small I mean that it is short and very mawga. The first time we were about to have sex, and he took off his clothes I had to search to find it- it was so embarrassing.

I know that he is sensitive about it because I realize that he always wants the lights to be off whenever we are having sex and he has had to resort to ‘other’ methods of trying to please me sexually. The thing is that nothing can replace a good d**k and that is what I am used to getting, as my last boyfriend was very well endowed.

konshens_sex_in_city_artiste_jamaica.jpg

Natural Bridge recording artiste Konshens, who is poised to be one of Jamaica’s next reggae/dancehall super star, gave a stunning performance last Saturday at the second staging of Sex In The City.

The headline act was simply stunning and his fans were reaching out to him and gobbling up every note he sang. The stimulation started close to 1 a.m. when Sex In The City promoter ZIP Jock Niki Z introduced Konshens on stage.

DJ Smurf from Irie FM was geared up behind the wheels of steel rinsing his Konshens interlude as anticipation crept throughout the audience. The moment ‘Mr. Winner’ took the stage the females began screaming uncontrollably. Blanks and screams greeted Winna, and immediately the deejay received three consecutive forwards.

Shouts of ‘pppuuulll uuuppp’ echoed throughout the venue the minute that Konshens began to delve into Rasta Imposter. This stepped on several artistes ‘corn’ but Konshens continued to thrill his fans.

The performance took a turn when one of Jamaica’s top female dancer Mystic, took to the stage. The men inside the venue suddenly sprung to life and many barked like dogs as she entice them with some rousing dance moves. Konshens made good of the opportunity, deejaying “Gal Yuh Lock Di Whole Dance Down - Di Way Yuh Shake Your Booty.” - the crowd roared.

Konshens capped off a successful set with How It Feel (produced by Birch) and simmered for Mi Madda.

Veteran deejay Delly Ranx also gave a wonderful performance to close the show.

Koshens’ next major performance will be at Reggae Sumfest.

Patron used a fake US$100 note with Macka Diamond's face to purchase Hennessey

macka_diamond_us_dollar_photo.jpg

Macka Diamond who recently printed a batch of false US currency for promotional purposes with her face on one side was recently used by a patron to ordered a bottle of Hennessey at one of Kingston’s hottest weekly dancehall events.

“Look good pon da US dey enuh!!!!” so was the cry of one of the bartenders
The bartender’s outburst, which got the attention of almost everyone in close proximity, was in reference to a US one-hundred dollar bill that was just handed to her fellow bartender for a bottle of Hennessy. Some were surprised, and some even took offence to her outburst, taking it as she styling the man, but when the smoke cleared it quickly became clear why she had acted the way she did.

“Look pon dis, a wha do unuh, look pon dis!!!!!” - Just minutes before, someone had slipped her what appeared to be a real hundred US for a bottle of Hennessey, got change and left, only to find out after a closer look on the bill, that it was Macka Diamond’s face on it and not Benjamin Franklin.

Kanye West Mom's Doc Without License, Again

kanye-west-shades1.jpgIt remains to be seen whether the man who operated on Kanye West's mom ever operates again.

Dr. Jan Adams' license to practice medicine expired yesterday - not because of patient-related issues or his DUI troubles (which include an arrest earlier today on suspicion of driving under the influence), but because he has yet to cough up child support that he owes his ex, a spokesman for the Medical Board of California confirmed to E! News.

The California Department of Consumer Affairs sent Adams a letter last month informing him that he had 30 days to write a check or risk losing his license, a fate that reportedly also befell him in 2006 for three months, also for failure to pay child support.

Once the doc is back in good standing with his support obligations, renewal of the license can proceed, board rep Russ Heimerich said.

Adams, however, was arrested in the Northern California city of Vallejo early Thursday morning after police spotted him using an off-ramp to get on the freeway. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Solano Superior Court on Monday.

'Bad Gal' Ce'Cile To Tour Europe

cecile_singer_artiste_sexyphoto.jpgJamaica's 'bad gyal', Ce'Cile, is currently here in Jamaica promoting her two new singles Ride or Die and So Fly, which features Beenie Man.

Ce'Cile recently rocks her fans when she performed at the Big Jam Rock Reggae Fest at the Hammerstein Ballroom in the United States along with Beenie Man and Mr. Vegas.

The sexy siren only just took Boston's Club Lido by storm, performing alongside Elephant Man and all the ladies singing her anthem, Waiting as well as favorites like Can U Do Di Wuk? and Aint Nutten For Free, but it was her underground song P Good that had the ladies screaming in agreement.

She also performed at Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, New York on the same bill as Shaggy, Daville and Elephant Man, where again P Good was the song that got the largest crowd reaction.

By Krazy Katty
OutAroad.com Writer

Sex_in_The%20_flyer_only_konshens.jpgJamaica’s ‘moneymaking mood’ artiste Konshens will be the headline act for the blazing weekly party Sex In The City this Saturday at Carlos Café, New Kingston.

A lot will be demanded from the Natural Bridge artiste, as the singer/deejay will be encountering a no nonsense crowd that expects nothing short of a superb performance. After opening with a dazzling performance for the Reggae Boyz in their encounter with The Bahamas at the National Stadium recently, one can bet their last dollar that Konshens will rip up the place.

DJ Smurf from Irie FM will be the man behind the wheels of steel ravaging the turntables to get out some crisp beats that Konshens will undoubtedly handle very well.

The first staging of Sex In The City got off to a great start last weekend with Big Yard Recording artiste Chris Martin and comedian turn artiste Ice Man giving wonderful performances.

Sex In The City is the brain child of Zip Jock Nikki Z.

Kanye West Leads BET Award Winners Plus Keys, Ne-Yo, Lil Wayne Issue Rousing Performances

By Njai Joszor

xinsrc_392120407085479626381_kanye.jpgKanye West led Tuesday’s 8th Annual BET Award winners earning Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration amongst a night full of rousing performances, show stopping reunions and unforgettable moments.

Kicking off the night, Usher performed his hit “Love In This Club” in a pyrotechnic filled and highly choreographed set setting the pace for an energy filled night of amazing performances. But the ladies claimed the night, when Alicia Keys took the stage to perform her latest hit “Teenage Love Affair” later unveiling a line up of iconic R&B female groups including SWV, En Vouge and TLC. Performing hits including SWV’s “Weak,” En Vouge’s “Hold On,” and TLC’s “Waterfalls,” the ladies brought the house down. Even Kanye West was on his feet, singing along.

"This performance was surreal," SWV's Leanne Lyons said backstage. "When we got the call that Alicia Keys was one of our biggest fans and that she wanted one of her favorite groups from the '90s to perform with her, it humbled us."

Five-Time nominee, T-Pain hit the stage twice at the awards sporting his iced out top hat stating "This industry is my circus," "Ride with the ringleader." The “ringmaster” shared the stage with Flo Rida, Rick Ross, Ludacris, DJ Khaled and Big Boi, later joining Lil Wayne who closed out the show with “A Milli” and “Lollipop.”

Mr. Lexx - Lost In The Music

By Nomad
OutAroad.com Writer

lexus_mrlexx_dancehall_male_jamaica.jpgOutAroad.com will be starting a weekly feature looking on reggae/dancehall artistes that burst onto the scene and then vanish into thin air. You, our readers, can assist us by sending in names of artistes you think should be on this list to outaroad@gmail.com.

We will be kicking off this feature with The Prince, a man in the music business that have gone through many name changes, but still haven’t manage to climb back up the treacherous dancehall ladder.

Initially we know this person as Lexxus, who then changed his name to Mr. Lexx and currently wishes to be called The Prince. However, despite all the name changes Mr. Lexx’s career has remained stagnant for the last couple of years.

Born Christopher Palmer, Mr. Lexx emerged on the scene in the late 90s with a plethora of hits, including Make Some Money, Prayer, Full Hundred, Ring Mi Cellie, Cook, Let Those Monkeys Out, and others. He also gave breathtaking performances at two of Jamaica’s biggest stage shows, Sting and Reggae Sumfest. The girls usually scream when they hear his name. His songs frequented the charts and he ruled the airwaves.

Jamaica's reggae singer Terry Linen is in the 'Mood for Love'

By Kon-Vick
OutAroad.com Writer

terry_linen_reggaelyrics_male_singer.jpgLast week we promised that we would be reviewing Terry Linen’s 'No Time to Linger', however because of an overwhelming demand for his single 'Mood for Love' that is now holding the #2 position on Richie B's Top 20 Reggae Chart we have decided to review that single instead. The song is on the OutAroad.com Media Player for your listening ears.

It is in no uncertain terms that Linen, a talented singer that has been compared to Reggae great Garnett Silk, has announced his presence back onto the music scene. Terry Linen’s soothing voice singing Mood for Love has the potential to do just that, put you in the mood. The soft sentimental manner in which Linen delivers has the potential to send chill down one’s spine.

From the outset, Linen’s expressive voice drives a deep, emotional feeling into one’s sub consciousness. As the song matures so does this feeling. Mood for Love will leave you in awe, when you start to think that a talent like this exist and has not highlighted.

The song is based on a familiar theme: A man feeling extremely lonely and missing his woman. This loneliness is magnified when he reflects on the good times they shared. This moment of reminiscing then puts him in the Mood for Love.

The 16-Year-old stalker - Mr. Proppa Fix

Mr. Proppa Fix - Tek it or leave it

mr_proppafix_logo.jpg

Dear Mr. Proppa Fix,

I am an educated young man with a well paying job in the Corporate Area. I consider myself well mannered and good with women.

A few weeks ago, I was introduced by a friend to a young woman who attends a tertiary institution in Kingston. She is very attractive and smart and we had no problem hitting it off. We went out for a date on the same night we met and after we went back to her place to ‘chill’. Nothing happened because I think that people should get to know each other before they become intimate. We kept in touch over the phone and went on several dates after that and we have started to develop feelings for each other. My problem is the other day she told me that she has something to confess to me - she told me that she had lied about her age and she was in fact 16 instead of 18 as she had previously told me.

Mr. Proppa fix I felt upset and confused because I don’t usually date people that are younger than me and this girl is nearly 8 years my junior. The major dilemma is that she is desperate for us to have sex and I am very hesitant because of the age difference.

Most of my friends are styling me as a ‘waste man’ and a’ rucks’. They think that if she looks ready for the plucking then I should give it to her the real and proper way. However, I really do not want to take advantage of her even though I know that she is not a virgin and legally she is the age of consent. She keeps calling me and expressing the same sentiments and my friends keep telling me that nobody has to know and we can keep it between both of us.

Two Charged in Murder of Rapper T.I. Associate

ti_rapper_states_america.jpgTwo men have been indicted on murder and assault charges in connection with the death of rapper T.I.'s close friend Philant Johnson. The rapper was attending an afterparty following a performance at Bogart's nightclub in Cincinnati, OH in May 2006, when two men opened fire on his van - killing Johnson and injuring three other members of the star's entourage.

Pardon Thomas, 40 and Hosea Thomas, 34, were arrested in connection with the killing and were indicted on Thursday on several charges relating to the incident.

Johnson, who was 26, went to school with T.I. - real name Clifford Joseph Harris - and was an integral part of his recording career, according to Allhiphop.

Harris pleaded guilty in March to federal weapons charges and was sentenced to a year in prison, three years of supervised home detention, 1,500 hours of community service and a $100,000 fine.

Top reggae artistes share views on anti-gay lyrics

By Nikisha Smith
Source: www.antiguasun.com

shaggy_dancehall_pop_ariste.jpgReggae artiste Orville “Shaggy” Burrell spoke out against overt homophobia and violence in Jamaican dancehall lyrics, saying that artistes only suffer when they choose to go that route.

Speaking to the media before his performance at Antigua and Barbuda’s Romantic Rhythms festival, Shaggy said he believes there is too much emphasis being placed in song lyrics about homophobic behaviour and violence to be meted out to gays.

He said, “Dem have way more things a gwan than to sit down and wonder who is doing what and what they are doing, personally.”

The artiste said other more serious topics, such as child molestation, rape and domestic violence go under the radar because of the extended homophobic focus. Shaggy said that giving gay men attention empowers them, whether or not that is the intention of the singers.

“I just hope that the artistes can be smart about it and realise that it is a business, make up their mind and get past it,” he said.

A self-confessed ladies’ man who sings about more than what is happening in Jamaica’s backyard, Shaggy said he currently has the number one song, Feel the Rush, in Germany and Switzerland, while other artistes are having difficulties getting visas to even go perform in those same countries. “So who are the losers?” he asked.

Shaggy said the solution is to punish offending artistes through their pockets, fining them when they curse or sing anti-social lyrics or holding back portions of their performance fees until they successfully complete a show according to preset rules.

“I bet nobody woulda cuss. You start mess with an artistes’ money, believe me, dem man will walk the straight and narrow,” he said.

Shaggy said several top Jamaican artistes cannot get visas to perform either in the United States or Europe this summer because of their anti-gay lyrics. Some of those dancehall musicians who have been barred in the past for similar reasons include Capleton, Baby Cham and Beenie Man.

Mother of 50 Cent's Son Granted Restraining Order Against Rapper

Source: www.foxnews.com

50-cent-his-son-marquis.jpgNEW YORK - The mother of 50 Cent's son was granted a temporary restraining order against the rapper on Friday, TMZ reported.

As per the order, 50 Cent will have to forfeit any firearms he may have, and any pick-up and drop-off of his 11-year-old son, Marquise, must be "at curbside," according to the Web site.

He's also not allowed to be on any premises with his son's mother, Shaniqua Tompkins.

Tompkins' lawyer Paul Catsandonis said they will be arguing for a permanent restraining order against the rapper next month, TMZ reported. Earlier, Tompkins said that people associated with 50 Cent have made threats against her.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent's lawyers have served Tompkins with a $20 million defamation suit in Connecticut court for accusing 50 Cent of burning down his own house, and trying to kill her and their son, TMZ reported.

He also wants the court to force Tompkins to let him visit Marquise, in accordance with an earlier order, the Web site said.

Dead or alive - rumours flying about Barbie

Barbie's publicist Ray Alexander has announced that contrary to a flurry of rumours that the singer succumbed to her wounds in hospital, Barbie is alive, doing well, and scheduled for release from Hospital tomorrow.

The rumour mill went into overdrive this morning, with wild reports that were circulated to even a leading media house. When the media house made checks, the story came up blank.
“There is no truth to it, nothing like that has happened,” complained Ray Alexander, publicist for Barbie.

“Someone has been going around telling lies about her, and it’s just not true,” he explained.
“I spoke to her just last night, she is doing fine and coming out tomorrow. They did many tests on her, cat scan and others, and she is fine,” Alexander told OutAroad.com.

Terry Linen Has 'No Time To Linger'

By Kon-Vick
OutAroad.com Writer

terry_linen_singer_male_jamaica.jpgAs promised, we will continue to give you, our readers, an insight into how Terry Linen started out his career and about his unique sound.

His peers in the cool setting of Red Bank, St. Elizabeth, deemed the OutAroad.com Break Out Artiste for the Month of June a calm character. An individual blessed with musical talent that only a few persons possesses naturally.

Linen’s silky voice has been compared to that of Reggae great, Garnett Silk. The pitch, which governs Linen’s melody and harmony while he delivers his soulful songs, is undoubtedly that of a good singer. And while the tag of a Garnett Silk sound alike lingers, Linen feels no way about it.

“Mi love Garnet Silk, and from the people say I sound like him I will not fight them down. I still believe I have a different tone and texture still, but I fell no way being compared to a Reggae great,” Terry Linen explained to OutAroad.com.

Terry Linen’s early days in the music were adventurous as the artiste was in constant demand for dub plates.

“From St. Elizabeth days I use to work with a man call Mr. Swaby, and then Black Kat came about and I began doing some dub plates first. Then Mr. Swaby carried me to Penthouse where we link up with Red Rose, and I did a song called Rainbow Never Touched the Ground”.

She has received intravenous fluids and ordered two weeks of bed rest.

According to D.I.'s agent, "Danielle has been working extremely hard; she is on a hectic exercise program. She has a long list of singles working on with various producers and has lost sight of the importance of consuming fluids. Right now Danielle is crushed by this set back however this has happened to many recording artistes: Usher, Kelly Rowland, Kid Rock, Mariah Carey so many others."

Beenie Man raring to go at Reggae Sumfest 2008

• DJ promises to give fans a performance never to be forgotten

artist_10472_beenie.jpgBeenie Man's is in an all-time good and optimistic mood and anxiously looking forward to this year's staging of Reggae Sumfest 2008.

With the stakes very high and the promoters putting together an event with a strong line-up of the best of the best veterans and dancehall's hottest and latest newcomers to the business, the entertainer who has remained consistent for over three decades is taking no chances with the covetous title he now boasts - 'king of the dancehall'.

Not just a recording artiste, but also full-fledged stage performer, Beenie Man is quite busy choreographing new dance moves, making new lyrics and getting his designer to come up with the most eye-catching and hottest outfits that will give him a shot at the 'best dress artiste' title.

Beenie Man enjoys taking up challenges such as these big events where he can get the chance to put his exceptional talent on display. He is very good at what he does, but at the same time he is not going to ignore the fact that there are several other artistes out there who are going to do their best to stop him in his musical tracks. Several have tried and failed. When you think that he is down and out, he just rises like the Phoenix.

Reggae Empress Etana Starts Strong

DEBUT ALBUM “THE STRONG ONE” IN STORES TODAY

etana_reggae_female.jpgEtana’s highly anticipated VP debut The Strong One is here and critics have already begun their praises. Arguably the most prolific female vocalist in reggae today, Etana has struck a chord with the masses and is winning the hearts of the people one song at a time. She made her debut with the hit “Wrong Address” in 2006, “Roots” in 2007, “Warrior Love” in 2008, received numerous awards in her native country, rocked major stage shows and will now unveil her first studio album boasting production by reggae legends Dean Frasier, Carl James and Robert Livingston on June 17, 2008.

Jonathan Cunningham from the Broward-Palm Beach New Times says, “She's the Jamaican equivalent of an India.Arie. Her lyrics are a refreshing push against the mainstream, and the musicianship behind them is strong and original enough that her songs can't be denied.”

Popular music site Pitchfork Media chose Etana’s upcoming album as their dancehall pick of the month. “Etana has been around for a little while now, dropping fulsome and soulful voicings on a variety of riddims…. This album is worthy of such high praise at least in part because it's important to remember that syrupy love songs have as much of a place in Jamaican culture and the dance itself as conscious or badman tunes,” states Dave Stelfox.

“Daddy although yuh gone/ Memories live on - G Maffiah

By Krazy Katty
OutAroad.com Writer

gmaffiah_deejay_jamaican_artiste.jpgG Maffiah is one of Jamaica’s more talented artistes trying to make it mainstream, and indeed he has the potential to do this. This is especially evident in the Kingston 6 Reckords’ artiste single Gone.

Gone is not your typical hook laced song, but a track with substance and strong verses. G Maffiah’s lyrics and delivery demands that you listen, but not forcibly. Instead the calm poignant yet effective manner in which G Maffiah deejays the song makes you want to listen every single word. The harmony is simply smooth and catchy.

Gone is a rarely written song preaching a positive message for fathers. The lyrics are nicely constructed and are of the poetic nature many associate with the talented artiste. In the single G Maffiah deejays of his father having a strong influence on his life: “Daddy although yuh gone/ Memories live on/ Still a tek care a mom/ Yuh son a carry on/ Although it been so long/ Still rolling on/ Daddy it’s so hard living without you.”

OutAroad.com commends G Maffiah as a young artiste with positive foresight. For this, his writing skills, and his undoubtedly good delivery, OutAroad.com gives 'Gone' four out of five stars.

Konshens, Assassin and I-Octane opened for the Reggae Boyz

konshens_conscience_z_jamaica_artiste.jpg

Konshens’s encouraging words - “This year mi affi be di winna,” led the Reggae Boyz to 7-0 victory over a weak Bahamian line up last weekend at the National Stadium. This is Konshens first major appearance which will be one to remember as the DJ opened for the Reggae Boyz in their first World Cup qualifying match.

Even though Konshens performed his hit single “Winna” at the beginning of the game Renaissance sound system “pop off di tune again,” at half time reminding the Reggae Boyz that they will be “di winna”.

I-Octane was also in the building and had the audience jumping to his hit joint ‘Stab Vampire’. The lyrical Assassin was next who definitely turned the Stadium up-side down, especially when he belted out his mega hit single ‘Some Boy Nuh Want Nuh Gal’.

Macka Diamond gives undisclosed sum to five rural High Schools

macka_diamond_school_fund.jpgThe good book reads, “To whom much is given, much is required,” and for Charmaine Munroe, better known to the world as Macka Diamond, it is quite clear that she not only knows this principle, but lives by it.

Just recently she again showed her kinder, gentler and more compassionate side by hosting an All School Beach Party at Ocho Rios’s Margaritaville, with proceeds from the event going towards the enhancement of the music departments of schools in and around the area.

The all day, incident free Beach Party, which was held on the 24th of May, was the first of its kind at the venue, usually reserved for visitors to the island, but with its success and benefit to the community, Macka Diamond and her company, DiamondDistrict Ja. along with Margaritaville, Ocho Rios, have agreed to again partner on yet another beach party, the Remix- Summer Edition, scheduled to be held on July 12th, at Margaritaville Ocho Rios, with proceeds again going towards the enhancement of the music department in schools.

R & B Star R. Kelly Acquitted of All Charges

Accused of sex with a minor, R. Kelly goes home a free man

By Brian Frederick
www.hollywoodtoday.net

r-kelly.jpgCHICAGO, IL (Hollywood Today) 6/15/08 - - The first word out of the mouth of Robert Sylvester Kelly (41) after being acquitted of all child pornography counts against him. “Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus,” he said, according to one attorney from his dream team, Sam Adam Jr.

In the case of The People of Illinois v. Robert Kelly, in Cook County, Illinois Circuit Court, Criminal Division, a court clerk clearly read the verdicts for each of the 14 counts of child pornography. “Not guilty,” the clerk said.

As each count was being read, the R & B star grabbed the hands of his lawyers, bowed his head low, shut his eyes tight and searched for the comfort of Jesus to save him from a life in prison. And that’s exactly what happened. Not surprising since the victim in the sex case refused to testify and neither did the victim’s parents.

“When all the facts came out, he (R. Kelly) would be cleared of these terrible charges. All he wants to do is move forward and put it behind him,” said a spokesperson in a released statement.

After six years of Chicago’s best prosecutors spending millions of the taxpayer’s dollars going after a superstar on weak and questionable evidence, the jury reached an acquittal for Kelly in three hours. The trial, lasting nearly four weeks, heard testimony of multiple sexual encounters from witnesses and were endured to watch a tape in which a male participant urinated on a female. The female victim calls the assailant, “Daddy” in the tape.”

Since the influx of home made porn videos starring local celebrities, persons have been scouring the net inside out hunting for more. It has even reach as far as persons trying to make something out of nothing just to be entertained. The latest news to hit the street is a video of D’Angel out partying with friends.

In the video D’Angel was out partying like a rock star not knowing that a videographer was determined to ‘get underneath her skirt’ with his camera. Word on the street is that D’Angel willfully exposed herself. When OutAroad.com got in touch with D’Angel she expressed no shock and actually burst into a wave of laughter.

“That video is so long ago (2005). My friends brought it to my attention and I was rather upset when I saw it. There were a lot of photographers and videographers capturing the moment of me having fun but I had no idea that one of them was trying video under my clothes,” she said.

“ Whether you are an entertainer or a regular patron it’s disrespectful of the video man to do such thing, especially when you are not aware of the situation – it’s cheap publicity, Anso!!!!!,” she told OutAroad.com.

New book on the life of Beenie Man

beenie-man.jpgThe sensational new book on the life of dancehall king Beenie Man has finally been scheduled for worldwide release this summer. The forthcoming biography, Who Am I? The Untold Story of Beenie Man, will treat fans of dancehall music to more than four hundred pages of intrigue, eye-opening revelations and never-before-seen colour photographs depicting the young superstar’s life.

Who Am I? The Untold Story of Beenie Man is the world’s first-ever dancehall biography, and is being published by Jamaican publishers Great House OmniMedia in time for Reggae Sumfest. Written by noted Jamaican journalist Milton Wray, the story tracks the twists and turns of Beenie Man’s dramatic life, following in great detail the reggae superstar’s rise from childhood to the Grammy Award, numerous other honours and musical firsts, including an unequalled string of chart-topping hits.

The author worked on the project for more than eleven years, documenting Beenie Man’s tabloid-rich life and career as they unfolded. After first contacting the artiste in 1994, Wray eventually took a sabbatical from Jamaican journalism to live and do research in New York City for more than a year. While in the United States, he conducted interviews and collected vast amounts of information on Beenie Man and his international impact on the music business. While writing the book in Jamaica, Wray did in-depth research by interviewing a host of persons including relatives, friends, associates, music business personnel, rivals and, of course, the girlfriends of the reggae/dancehall icon.

Irie FM Bans Conscious Reggae Artiste Richie Spice

Richie_Spice_irefm_radio.jpgSuper conscious reggae artiste Richie Spice's latest entry on the albums chart, "Gideon Boot" has been slapped with an indefinite ban by the IRIE FM Programs Department. The ban extends not only to the material found on the album "Gideon Boot", but to all songs from his repertoire. According to IRIE FM officials, the song contained an expletive that could faintly be heard after the song had ended, and came as a surprise to Announcer Elise Kelly who was playing the song in her shift. Representatives from VP Records also expressed their shock upon hearing of the ban, and have begun taking corrective steps to rectify the situation.

The album was part of a deal with ace producer Bobby Digital, who was charged with the responsibility of selecting the final copies of the songs for the album, released on VP records label. Unofficial word from insiders is suggesting that a mistake was made on the part of the person charged with the responsibility of mastering the songs for the final album cut.

Members of Bonner Cornerstone Music-to which Richie Spice is now officially based- have expressed outrage at this mistake being made; one which has sought to cast a negative light on the otherwise positive and uplifting reggae act. Bonner Cornerstone officials have categorically stated this will not deter Richie Spice and members of Bonner Cornerstone Music from their path of spreading positive messages of love, unity and strength to persons around the world.

Negative Music, A Disc Jock Dilemma

“If a song is made for the streets leave it on the streets".

By Kon-Vick
OutAroad.com Writer

liquid_elektra_colinhines_kurt_riley_radio_dj.jpg

Since recently the attacks on dancehall music has skyrocketed as many persons begin to aggressively criticize the negative nature of the music. Fingers are being pointed in all directions as influential individuals in society and corporate entities try to find someone or a group of individuals guilty for the ‘decline’ of the dancehall genre.

Many criticize dancehall acts from yester year, and chastise the current crap. However, many of those pointing fingers forget to identify the persons that actually make the music reach the mass. Argument is now emerging that disc jocks are often overlooked, while they are indeed some of the biggest culprits.

When OutAroad.com contacted ZJ Liquid from Zip 103 FM, he agreed that radio disc jocks should shoulder some of the blame for spreading negative dancehall music.

“Radio disc jocks contribute a little to the negativity of course, a small percentage, but we cannot be solely blamed. Not everybody ago listen and duh what the song say.

Kurt ‘The Party Animal’ Riley’s stance on the issue disc jocks contributing to the negativity in dancehall by playing gangster tunes is somewhat defensive as he outlines that negativity springs from various sources.

Five sex questions with Diamond from MBC - "Men with small d**ks is too much work"

mbc_make_boys_cry_z_jamaica.jpgOutAroad:
How often do you have sex?

Diamond:
I don’t have sex that often but when I do have sex “mi mek damn good use of it” - maybe mi have gray liver, laughs.

OutAroad:
Which do you prefer big d**k or small d**k?

Diamond:
I love when my man have a good size d**k because it makes me come easily - men with small d**ks is too much work for me because I have to spend long hours on top in order to come.

OutAroad:
What was the first time like having sex?

Diamond:
It was disgusting and painful, why disgusting because it was my first time seeing a man naked, it just did look a way and why painful because even though he was trying to be gentle with his 7 inch d**k it was still a living hell. Fire fire fire.

R. Kelly Not On Sex Tape?

Source: www.mtv.co.uk

1220_r_kelly_court_00-thumb-450x337.jpgR. Kelly's lawyers try to prove that he’s not on the sex tape…

After just two days of testimony from 12 witnesses, the defense rested in R. Kelly's child-pornography trial, with only rebuttal and closing arguments to go.

Anyone expecting the R&B singer or the girl in question to take the stand was sorely disappointed. Compared to the explosive testimony of Stephanie "Sparkle" Edwards, and "threesome woman" Lisa Van Allen, there was no star witness for the defence.

The singer’s defence team focused on destroying the prosecution's case by criticising the witnesses and denying that it is R Kelly on the sex tape.

The lawyers suggested that the man is a look-alike who lacks a large mole on his back that Kelly has, arguing that a mark on the man’s back comes and goes during the tape. However, they provided no leads on this man’s identity and admitted that he must have had access to R Kelly’s house.

The defence talked about conspiracy theories. Kelly’s team suggested that there are many people who would want to set Kelly up. First and foremost on the list would be former mistress Van Allen. In reference to Sparkle, lawyer Ed Genson insinuated during cross-examination that she was still bitter over being dropped from Kelly's record label.

Local TV Celebrity Stars Own Porn Movie

However this time around the table has turned, it is the local female celebrity that is doing the favour to her male counterpart. And news travels fast. OutAroad.com reporters caught a glimpse of the video in a barbershop and before long it was being Bluetooth to everyone whose phone had the craved after feature.

While some were speculating as to the legitimacy of the video, others were dissecting it. “A she that of course, unnuh nuh si di ring pon har finger,” a female blurted out. Another shared similar sentiments, pointing out that: “Mi recognize har from the mole above har eye.”

Gully God To Help Clean Gullies

By Secret Agent
OutAroad.com Writer

mavado_gullyproject_artiste.jpg

As the artist walked free, news came out that ODPEM would be using him to raise awareness among the population, about the dangers of polluting gullies.

The officials at the office are apparently impressed with Mavado’s huge popularity and influence over the young dancehall crowd, and were even more convinced to use him because of his title the ‘Gully God’.

According to the reports, he’ll be used to voice a series of Public Service Announcements criticizing the pollution of gullies as well as asking people to dispose of their waste properly.

These developments should come as welcome news for Mavado fans, who were holding their collective breaths because of the court case, and who were disappointed because of his visa problems which were related to the case.

Mavado freed of gun charges - Still pending visa outcome

mavadosting_photosallience.jpgAce deejay David ‘Mavado’ Brooks is a free man. The ‘Gangster for Life’ walked away from dogging gun-related charges that have thus far put some serious dents in his blossoming career.

Mavado appeared in the Gun Court, Down Town Kingston today (Thursday), and was freed after none of the two witnesses were available to testify.

Information reaching OutAroad.com suggests that the Jamaica’s Director of Public Prosecutions presented the court with a signed letter stating that the matter against Mavado should be dismissed and his fingerprint destroyed.

Mavado was locked up and charged on March 26, 2008 after being linked to a shooting incident that took place in July of last year. Sameer Coombs, who was believed to be an accomplice of Mavado, was arrested the same day.

The police had alleged at the time that Mavado and associates went to a bar on Manning’s Hill Road where an altercation developed with another man. According to police reports weapons were drawn and shots fired at the man. Movado had been questioned by the police, but was released without charge.

During the duration of the case Mavado was turned down by US authorities and also saw himself and other members of the Alliance banned from performing in several countries. The multimillion dollar question is whether Mavado will be granted a US visa and some of the travel bans lifted.

Let’s wait and see!

Busy Signal - Dancehall Not Link To Crime

By Kon-Vick
OutAroad.com Writer

busysignal_dancehallartistealliancegirls.jpgJamaica’s crime rate has been spiraling beyond control in recent times. There has been constant bombardment on our dancehall artistes to clean up their music as it is argued that the violent lyrical content contributes to the crime wave.

OutAroad.com caught up with ace deejay Busy Signal, known for hits such as Nah Guh a Jail Again, The Days and Badman Place featuring Mavado, who shared his views on the argument outlined above.

“Some people take the message of the music the wrong way, but yuh still can’t blame the music in Jamaica or the rest of the world (for the spiraling crime rate). Music cannot be solely blamed for crime, there is also poverty, lack of jobs and the fact that the highest set of crimes worldwide is caused by dirty politics,” Busy explained.

Busy has shown his versatility in the dancehall genre of music with songs like The Days, a single depicting the everyday hardship in Jamaica, and Nah Guh a Jail Again, which talks about the alleviation of criminal activities. However, one can argue that he also trespass onto the gangster role in Badman Place.

Rihanna’s rumoured boyfriend Chris Brown has bought her a $100,000 diamond necklace

rihanna_necklace_photochris_brown.jpgRihanna’s rumoured boyfriend Chris Brown has bought her a $100,000 diamond necklace.

The 'Umbrella' singer, who has been constantly romantically linked to the R‘n’B star and was recently seen kissing him in a KFC fast food restaurant, was thrilled to discover Chris had splashed out on a ruby and diamond necklace from jewellers Jason of Beverly Hills.

Jewellery designer Jason Arasheben revealed: “Chris went for the heart theme. He said, ‘She’s going to love this because she loves hearts.’ ”

Rihanna, 20, was so impressed with her sparkling gift that she has ordered a diamond-encrusted cross for 19-year-old Chris from the same jewellers.

Jason added to America’s OK! magazine: “Rihanna gave specific instructions about Chris’ gift. She was very particular about wanting the cross to match his other jewellery.”

Rihanna was first linked to Chris in February after he attended her 20th birthday.

Later that month, the pair enjoyed a romantic holiday in Jamaica and could barely keep their hands off each other while cooling off in a pool.

They are also believed to have got matching star tattoos on their necks during their break.

Rihanna has previously denied she is dating Chris, insisting he is like a brother to her.

She said: "We are best friends, honestly, like brother and sister. I won't say that we're just friends - me and Chris are really best, best friends.”

Chris also claimed he has no interest in pursuing a relationship with Rihanna, saying: "People keep asking me, 'What's the deal?' I'm like, 'There's no deal. No deal.' We're just friends.”

By: Krazy Katty
OutAroad.com Writer

zj_elektraphoto_party.gifZip FM sizzling hot ZJ Elektra was relentless last Saturday night at Hillview Anvenue, as she played an electrifying set that ignited the patrons at Chi Ching Ching Splash.

The sole female selector for the night, Elektra, took the stage after veteran selector Sky Juice, who seemed intimidated by her presence: “A three more tune mi have left fi play but me a go play more tune ‘cause mi nah mek nuh female DJ come done di dance,” a usually good-humoured Sky Juice argued.

Despite the ‘aggressive’ comments, that did not go down well with some of the patrons, ZJ Elektra still managed to create a storm. Torrential mixes rained from the turntables and the patrons stuck to her side as she electrify their dancing nerves.

She had some of the female patrons ‘li, li, li, licking’ to Lil Wayne's smashing single Lollipop, while the men were flossing to 50 Cent’s I Get Money.

Before premiering Chi Ching Ching’s new tune featuring Flippa Mafia and female singer Bay C, she had the entire crowd shouting to Konshens’ hit single Winner (This Year Mi Haffi Be Di Winner).

Several of dancehall’s hottest stars came out to support Chi Chi Ching including Junior Reid and the One Blood Family, Blonde Ras aka Harry Toddler, Voicemail, Natural Black, Bescenta, Kiva the Diva, and videographer extraordinaire Jay Will.

Ex-Girlfriend Blames 50 Cent for Dix Hills House Fire

50cent_houseburnfire.jpg

Shaniqua Tompkins, 50 Cent’s ex-girlfriend and mother to his son, not only blames the famous rapper for being a bad father, but went so far as to say that she believes he’s behind the blaze that burned the luxurious Dix Hills home early Friday, The New York Daily News reported.

Yesterday, Tompkins returned to the burnt $1.4 million mansion, but she didn’t just retrieve some belongings from the scorched home, she also scorched her former boyfriend.

"Tell him to call his son!" said Tompkins, adding that 50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - didn’t even call his 10-year-old son Marquise to check if he was ok after the blaze.

"A good father would do that!" said Tompkins.

The speed and size of the flames that engulfed the Long Island mansion were called "definitely suspicious" by officials investigating the case and there’s no doubt in Tompkins’ mind that the one behind the arson is 50 Cent.
