In what has turned out to be the talk of the industry last week, the Julia Braham Saga continues - this time with another well known industry veteran claiming the young video director’s lack of professionalism caused loss in promotional revenue.
Mark Pinnock C.E.O of Natural Bridge Records home to Dancehall artists Mr. Peppa, Ward-21, Konshens, Aisha, Timber-lee and Tifa is the latest plaintiff to accuse Braham of improprieties. Pinnock who read the previous OutAroad.com exclusive with DJ Assassin’s Manager Gareth Campbell says “it's not the first time she has done something like this”.
With invoices prepared by his company dated from as far back as June 19th he says Braham has taken his money and to date a video has not been presented. Speaking to OutAroad.com at his Dumbarton Ave Studios Pinnock insists that his only reason for coming forward is because he wants it to be known that Assassin’s camp is not the only victim that has been scarred by the hands of her unscrupulous behavior . “This is not something we at Natural Bridge normally do, we are a company of professionals and by no means are we trying to tarnish her career but if this is the only means of garnering her attention then so be it - instead of Julia complaining she needs to provide us with some form of reimbursement for the unfinished project valued at US$4500.
I decided to shoot a video for Mr. Peppa’s songs “Pressure Dem / When Last” and I so happen to mention it to a well known industry professional who basically recommended Julia Braham, I then got a number for her, called and had a meeting to discuss a budget. I told her I had US$4000 to spend, she said ok and a deadline of two weeks was stipulated by her for the final edited version to be presented. I was leaving the country the following day so I gave her a deposit of US$2000 in cash which she signed for, this was on June 19th 2007.
Pinnock who sent another payment of US$1400 via Western Union a week later from New York says Braham discontinued communication, became disrespectful and even went outside the original budget by adding US$500 more. ”Because I was determined to have this video completed, a week later I made the final payment of US$1100 and called to follow up on the status of the video, she asked for another week to complete the project, I agreed but then another week passed and nothing was presented to me. I called and left several messages, however she didn’t return any of my calls until one day her so called assistant phoned trying to explain on her behalf. One day just by chance I called again and got her, she said she was too busy to talk and gave me the number of the Editor who she said had the footage working on.
Prior to this however, Pinnock recalls he saw Braham in late July a month after the shoot at the Solid Agency event Fully Loaded and tried to get a response from her. I saw her having a good time and sent a colleague to call her and she said to him “Tell Mark mi nuh dey ya fi talk business mi dey yah fi party”.
“At this point I became very upset and went to the editor's home which showed me some footage but it was not up to our standards, this was in early September. A few weeks later a bearer sent by the Editor came to the office on a bicycle and presented two Mini Disc’s which appeared to have two versions of the video which I rejected. Three whole months had passed and it made no sense to release the video”.
Pinnock who is still outraged over the situation says he has enough proof to put Braham before the courts “Because we are professionals, we made her sign for the Moines she received and made backup copies of all the invoices and receipts so I think she should now try and make contact with Natural Bridge as soon as possible, it's in her best interest”.

julia not even go to school for video directing she just get one day and said I am a director, just goes to show you can be anything you want from once you put your mind to it. i saw some of her work and them nuh look so bad just imagine if had went to school video directing like kamala bennette who did the video for D'Angel's single blazing

julia was not like this, but everything change from she start dating idonia and i can bet she was a big influence behind idonia's idea of leaving skatta because the way she love money she will do anything for. another thing before i go never knew that julia would be the type who date entertainers, i heard her saying those lines from her mouth over and over and yet she come do maybe she was reciting them to remember not to date artiste but you better start reciting them once more.
but guess what I am not hype and badmind like you some ago give you rating for some of the your work that you have done. julia 2008 a new year change you nasty ways or else you get no more video to direct because when you a go pull a man like assassin who everyone know afraid a war when it was you who have done the man wrong

P.S. when you are working for your self try to build a good work relation with your clients because from once you mess up one client's work thehy might around someone who is planning using you to shoot a video and then them shout noooo!! don't use her to shoot your video because she's unprofessional.

Here we go again!....Julia Braham at her best, being unprofessional that is. Natural bridge should file a Law Suit against her for all the monies owed.

Julia, you really need some divine intervention in a case like this. It's never too late for a shower of rain, but girl, you're going to have to convince many influential people if you want to ever be respected in the business again. Always remember that there are always better talents than you out there so you have to always create and maintain a good impression if you want to last in this cut-throat business.

There is a SLIGHT difference between someone who takes your money and gives you nothing (Braham v. Assasin), and someone who takes you money but gives you an unsatisfactory product (Braham v. Natural Bridge).
A person producing poor quality work it is NOT an easy thing to sue for in Jamaica. Whose opinion is a judge going to side with?
The real point is that in both cases there is a lack of professionalism, and there are many others who could come forward with similar examples of BOTH.
Take heed. Even if there was a good contract in place, it would take YEARS in court (if you even got ANY jamaican music video director to sign such a contract).
The best thing to do is shop wisely.
