A day after news surfaced that famed female video director Julia Braham was owed money by Assassin for his most recent video Money Machine his Manager and brother Gareth Campbell is on the offensive. Campbell who has been Assassin's manager from his earliest rise in dancehall is adamant that negligence and a lack of professionalism on the part of Braham led to the falling out.
In an exclusive phone interview with OutAroad.com sought to clarify the actual detail of the business arrangement. “Julia is completely unfair we had agreed to shoot a video for Assassin’s song 'Don’t Make Me Hold You' from about early July when the track was hot and our promotional campaign was most significant and she didn’t deliver. We paid her in full for the video, $300,000.00 in cash as well as wire transfer and we didn’t get nothing, it took her a month after the shoot to give us a reason why we couldn’t see the edited version, basically she said the hard drive that had the footage fell and everything was lost”. Campbell who said Julia blatantly misleads them however showed empathy and allowed her to redeem her self. “At first we just wanted back our money that we paid her in full but she called us crying and pleading and get people to beg us to give her a chance; I was lenient and so we agreed to do a new video free of cost.
On the day of the shoot I went in my pocket and spent over $200,000.00 - I even paid for the crane that gave her the aerial shots. We wrapped on the Money Machine video and the footage was sent again to the same Editor for editing and then a day after the shoot she called me about additional expense”. Campbell said he was already doing Braham a favor by not taking his money elsewhere and despite him being understanding and cognizant of the fact she didn’t have the original deposit she still threw it back in his face. “I cant understand how we owe her money, you know what we even took the damaged hard drive and sent it to a Data Recovery specialist in Connecticut to see if we could get back the work and they said someone had opened the drive and tried fixing it which cause the footage to be lost and she didn’t tell us this”. What makes it even more hurtful Campbell laments was the fact that for the first video which was shot in Kintyre Papine the whole community turned out to support Assassin and was distraught when they heard the video had been scrapped. “Julia Braham is unprofessional, how can you not have a backup of such important data, your clients depend on you to produce a clean edited version and you give a silly excuse about it falling then try and get more money by calling and talking about you have to get it by will or by force. She even threatened to lick me in my face, like a badness she wa bring”.
With the video now out Gareth insists that the business transaction though spoiled is complete and says Julia is on her own. “She basically was like on the day of the shoot she had to provide food for the ground crew but that’s not my responsibility so she need to sort that out her self”.

How the hell Julia a gwaan like Assassin was the culprit and she was the one who was forming the fool initially. Why she want to turn everyone against Assassin when he did not do anything wrong in the first place.
But then i should have known based on how she was railing up and behaving like seh she big and bad.
You know seh Julia need fi just shut up har mouth and hope seh she get more work.

don't tell mi seh julia a pretty dunce, what did you went to school for it's not assassin's job to write you a contract you are the one who make sure you have everything in place and how's it you never had any back of the work - so after you are through you just throw away the people them job, don't you keep copies for your portfolio

after reading both sides I hate the say it but the young lady is wrong. If her editor messed up the first video she should do the video for free and any expense is hers. She is making all women look bad. I am ashamed of her. She should be happy they did not take her to court.

For YEARS Julia Braham and Jeffry Campbell been friends. I won't even take no threats of violence serious. Them things is just private domestic matters. Its like bredda and sister a trace. I hope them and everybody around them just keep it sensible.
What is REAL is that Ms. Braham needs to sort out her thing. I do believe she is a TALENTED director capable of extremely good work.
She needs to understand that her REAL friends not going to put up with f*kery whether against her or by her. Nobody is being 'bad-mind' to say that she has definitely f*ked up. IT IS WHAT IT IS.
However, you have enough love for what you are doing to survive and surpass this. Just Humble yourself.
Take the time to retrace your steps and make amends with at least some of the NUMEROUS people you've dealt with unfairly$$$. Your pocket will suffer for a while, but your career will not in the long run.
I hope you dont stay arrogant on the matter, hope everything works out well, and i hope you'll be able to keep partying throughout and beyond this whole experience.

who knows someone who works along side Jeffrey probably got da money or some of the money and didn't tell him. He owes her money instead of her owing him more money. HMMM! I wonder what for maybe a behind da scenes person is doing something he doesn't know about. Video clips missing, money missing, not getting prompt service, and having to owe her money

For all those who are hearing the media version of this story your comments are silly. Julia and Jeffrey are coming from far as friends and it is unfortunate that this has taken the air waves and made both of them look bad, more so Julia. While you are all still making it an issue they have long since moved on. But for those who like to cuss without knowing the full story feel free. They know the truth!
Look into the fact that Julia is still producing entertaining, thought provoking videos and even the video in issue is loved!
