Dancehall’s fastest rising female video director Julia Braham is breaking the silence surrounding a current disagreement between herself and the versatile Dancehall DJ Assassin. Braham whose long list of clientele includes some of dancehall's most elite says her recent project with Assassin has gone sour after a series of mishaps.
Speaking with OutAroad.com in an exclusive interview she gave details of what transpired. “Aright what happened was I shot a video for Assassin's song 'Don’t Make Me Hold You' and quoted a charge to his management, when I sent the footage to the editor for editing he (the editor) damaged the hard drive accidentally - so is like we just decided to do a new video”.
Braham who admits to not having a formal written contract in place says Assassin's manager Garath Campbell had given the go ahead for the new shoot but when calculated exceeded the first videos budget by a few thousand dollars. “We basically had a verbal agreement and we decided to do a video instead for Money Machine, I told them that it would be a bit more money and they basically said fine they would pay the balance. Fine we did the video and I sent it to the same editor because he was now responsible for getting the project completed and he did his job but ignored my distinct instructions not to give Assassin's people the completed version until the money owed was collected. The money owed to me should have been paid when the video wrapped that day but up to now I don’t get it and I have people I need to pay calling me asking for their money, these are people I have worked with and it’s putting that business relationship we have in jeopardy”, she told OutAroad.com with a worried look on her face.

It however seems that things have gotten ugly, Julia claims threats are now being tossed around and pretty soon the police may have to get involved because no payment has been forth coming and the video has already premiered on local cable station HYPE TV. “When I last spoke to Assassin’s Manager he was if and butting about giving me the balance and I told him by will or by force I have to get my money and is like from I said that dem start intimidate me, saying I should watch where I go, I'm a party type of person I like to go out and this just have me restricted, when I said force I didn’t mean badness cause that don’t help nobody I meant going to the police to sort it out”.
For now Julia insists she did everything to make the project a success and is disappointed that things had to escalate so far. Efforts to get a comment from Assassin proved futile, but OutAroad.com can assure you by tomorrow we will have Assassin's side of the story

assassin is not the first person she did that too, it's a regular practice for her, julia need to be more professional

As a business woman Julia Braham did not exemplify any form of professionalism. She should have presented a contract and a receipt to Assassin and his management team who are referred to as “customers” for the service she provided. Assassin and his management team are in fact the victims here .She verbally agreed to have the video re-done and there should by no means be any additional cost to the customer for her careless mistake, frankly the editor at large falls under her portfolio. This incident has allowed me to come to the conclusion “Is her company registered by the "registrar of companies"? Does she pay her taxes” Hmmm! She has now proven herself to be unprofessional in the film industry and as a result mishaps of this nature will arise and will continue to rear its ugly head.
Beware of Julia Braham...this can happen to you!!

I am led to believe that Ms. Braham is not operating a legitimate business, since her insurance should have been able to cover for the loss after the first hard drive was damaged.
This is also poor business practice to slander customers..this should be a matter brought to the courts. But I guess is a gully sitt'n.

None a unoo nuh know di ppl dem bizniz! How unoo a chat like unoo personally attached to the situation and or parties. Less talking! More Writing! This is the sum of the music industry's problems, too many verbal "contracts" with ink and paper talk is cheap. People need to formalize business agreements whether its $300,000 or 300 million. Get in the habit! Music and all the spinoffs surrounding are businesses and should be treated as such. Done Talk!!!

a verbal agreement is accountable by law. A verbal agreement did the first video so why is it not accountable for the second shot. come on people they agreed to the difference, they can do better than that. what go around comes around. not because she is a woman
