Event producers, BentSpeare Entertainment, in association with title sponsors Appleton Jamaica Rum have confirmed that the concert will take place this Christmas. Known for its “on time, every time” reputation, the concert will feature a strong line up anchored by a performance by Damian Marley.
Since the release of his critically acclaimed and Grammy Award winning Half Way Tree album, Damian has remained in the spotlight with a number of powerful singles, including Still Searching, It Was Written, Move and the title track Welcome to Jamrock. Most recently, he has ignited the airwaves with One Loaf of Bread (Something For You). He returns to the Jamrock stage with his producer, mentor and brother Stephen Marley - five time Grammy award winning producer, turned solo artiste. Stephen’s debut album, Mind Control made the world take notice with the lead single, Traffic Jam.
“The line up will be revealed shortly,” assured Rupert Bent, co-producer of the Welcome to Jamrock Concert. Last year’s concert featured a powerful cadre of notable performers including vocalist Tessanne Chin, rude boys T.O.K., the ever controversial Tanya Stephens, Jah Messenger Luciano and a guest appearance by Sean Paul. Buju Banton, Morgan Heritage and Richie Spice formed the line up for the first year. The line up for the 2007 staging will be no less impressive indicated Bent.
Title sponsor Appleton Jamaica Rum is joined by Kingston Beer and the Hilton Kingston Hotel. Appleton Jamaica Rum Welcome To Jamrock returns on Friday, December 21.
