Dancehall has seen its recent share of emerging stars, but few have shined as brightly as Assassin. Versatile, wicked and wild, this young deejay has embarked on a journey akin to none. He somehow manages to do the impossible by rapping gully-style lyrics to hardcore riddims, while sidestepping the violent, drug-infused lyrics that are popular in the genre.
With his new studio effort Gully Sit'n now in stores (VP Records, August 2007), Assassin has been enjoying tours in Japan, across the U.S. and Caribbean. He's also been privileged to be on some of the hottest remixes of the year. He will be appearing on Elephant Man's new album Let's Get Physical due out on November 6 on the Bad Boy label, for his collaboration with the Energy God on the Five O remix. He also lent his unique chatting skills to one of the most-played pop tunes on American radio this year - Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girl remix.
