Reggae singer George Nooks releases new album "So Excited" at Acropolis

georgenooks-albumjamaica.jpgVeteran lovers rock singer George Nooks added one more to his already stellar catalog of albums when he introduced his new album “So Excited” to media and industry representatives at the official album launch hosted at the Acropolis Restaurant & Bar on Sept 18th.

Nooks who is celebrating over 35 years in the entertainment fraternity partnered with producer / songwriters Ian Clough & Calvini Bakker of C & I RECORDS to create the 12 tracks compilation which for the most part was recorded abroad. So Excited which also features the lead single of the same name is easy on the ears, its’ smooth mystic flow is a perfect blend of reggae, jazz and rock steady. George Nooks who’s known for delivering scintillating performances seem to get better over time. No longer doing cover tracks as often as he use to - Nooks has never sounded better, his vocal control and strength really shines on this effort.

Released under C & I RECORDS “So Excited” earned rave review at the launch after a 20 minute listening session which was followed by a brief Q & A segment with Nooks and his production team. Answers several questions Nooks commented that he has no problem working with songwriters. “As long as the song is good and the riddim nice then it don’t matter, from them ting deh aright then that’s it”. He also lamented that even after 35 years he’ll continue doing music. “My music is about a lovers ting and god knows that's what I do, it's my ting”.

Both producers of the album also took the podium and gave details on the making. “The album has been in the works for 5 years and features songs about love, politics, and social issues according to Ian Clough. The labels main focus is to work closely with the artist through interaction and placing a face and image to the man who often times is eluded from the voice.

“So Excited” features standout tracks like Caribbean Queen, My Woman, Foot Soljah and Never Giving In. Among the list of attendees were DJ Future Fambo, legendary songwriter and friend of George Nooks Winston Riley, VP Marketing Manager Yolan Zanders, media representatives from the Gleaner, Observer, RE TV and yours truly OutAroad.com. MC DJ Flames of RJR 94 FM concluded the proceeding and offered complementary slot machine tokens to those who wished to try their luck in the beautiful Acropolis Gaming Lounge. The event was organized and produced by Solid Agency.

Jah bless George nooks for i am a reggae fan , thanks for the music and messages that you deliver in your songs , keep up the fire works and burn it high and higher.
