Jamaica's Jovi Rockwell rocks her energy towards her upcoming album

sexyjovirockwell_beyoncerihanna.jpgJovi Rockwell is taking her career by stride living by those words she stated in an interview with Headlines!. After touring and performing at various shows in 2005 and 2006, she has decided to settle down and complete her album, which will be released by late fall.

Though some songs on the CD were written and released in 2006, there is more in store for you, her loyal listeners. With eclectic musical rhythms, artistic collaborations, thought provoking lyrics, kinetic dance energy and sultry singing style, Ms. Rockwell has put together a therapeutic CD perfect for people rocking alone or rocking with someone.

All about Love and Hey have been well-received by fans worldwide but the attention has now shifted to her newest single with Mr. Vegas, titled You’re Gonna Need Me. Dressed down to a tank top and boy shorts Jovi rocks the video with Vegas well. Director, Mark Humphrey introduced his concept based on the movie-The Devil’s Rejects; subsequently filming in California at the scene of the movie.

Jovi Rockwell self proclaims that she is “Rebel, Love, Goddess”. As ‘Rebel’ she defies the expected, blazing her own trail, on her own terms, carefully dodging conformity as she sets a new standard. In ‘Love’, she shows her sensual side and offers the literal love that she has for life and the people of the world. As ‘Goddess’, she channels her spiritual being, with an acute awareness of everything around her, and like the rebel and love within, Jovi’s ‘Goddess’ is firmly rooted in all aspects of her creative and personal being.

Where genre is concerned, Ms. Rockwell’s music is best described as stylishly eclectic, standing as a true testament to her own musical taste. In the studio, she expertly draws from the genres, skilfully blending their distinct elements into a unique hybrid that is undoubtedly her own. Be it, reggae, jazz, soul, hip-hop, dancehall, pop, or rock, there is no limit to where she can go and it’s always guaranteed that she will go there. If not in the vocal style, which can travel from soulful lines to deejayed verses, then expect it in the arrangement, which gives her a unique flexibility in an often one-dimensional industry.

In addition to the endeavours surrounding her album, Jovi will be featured in the Jamaican movie, Fidelity late Summer. Jovi has also accepted her invitation to perform at Irie Jamboree in New York set to take place in September. Jovi rocks.
She is has a different style from most of the females in reggae.
I thinks she is great video wise, but not live.
I really hope she does great @ Jamborie, I look forward to seeing if she has improved.

The All About Love is still my favorite.

Jovi is truly refreshing. I love dancehall music, don't get me wrong, but many of the dancehall songs that are on mainstream radio leave me thinking "Oh no, not another dancehall song with a dance that is actually named after a household chore or physical activity!" Jovi manages to stick to her dancehall roots, while at the same time incorporating other musical styles into her music. Jovi does not sound like every other artist out there , and the reason for this is that she is not afraid of testing the waters and seeing where other musical styles can take her. This is the problem with many artists however. Many artists want to give the people want they want, or rather want they are used to hearing. This is because of what they have seen the public respond to positively. If we like it, then they keep giving it to us. That is a good idea, however, it is also up to the artist to let the public see what else is in store musically, something that we've never heard before. Jovi does this. Who would of thought that a dancehall artist would be combining so many different genres of music the way that Jovi does? No wonder she terms herself as, "Rebel, Love, Goddess!" She truly lives up to her title.
