“These are the flipping days,
Juvenile a run di street with dem flipping Ks,
Yow you caan even rest in piece in you flipping grave...”
- These are some of the words Busy Signal chanted in his present hit song titled ‘The Days’.
The election is looming and like many dancehall artistes Busy Signal is concerned with its staging. Speaking with OutAroad.com Busy Signal voiced his opinion on the election, wishing for it to be a peaceful staging where the youths from the garrisons rest the Ks, even though these are the days.
“Mi a beg all di hot head in the ghetto, hot head in a di trenches, hot head in a di gully and the banks, south, east, west and north hear mi, just stay focus”, he told OutAroad.com. He added: “…it is not fair - these guys only come around when they need votes and offer wi a bag a things and trick we.”
“It is better you give us medications for our kids and put in place proper education facilities and most importantly create jobs for the youths them because that is better than giving them a one or two grand. It’s time for us to realize as a people that it’s the same things happened every time; them fix some little potholes and make us offers that they never fulfilled. How do they feel when these people are killing each other for a few dollars?” Signal reasoned while we conduct this interview under an ackee tree at Solid Agency office.

His Album
Although Busy Signal wasn’t keen to disclose the name of his upcoming album he decided to give us a treat on what can be expected - “Same Busy, different hits.”
“We have the album sort out song wise and even though we have not finalized a release date as yet, fans can expect to see a second Busy Signal album before the end of 2007. There will be variety of songs on this album, songs for the ladies, mi thugs them and songs that are crying out for justice for poor people”.
The lacking opportunities present in getting a good recording deal has forced Busy Signal to go independent releasing his album on his own label entitled Network Records.
He pointed out to OutAroad.com that there will be collaborations from dancehall heavy weights such as Munga Honourable, his ‘god father’ Bounty Killer, Morgan Heritage, Rick Rock and his gangsta ‘brother’ Mavado.
Badmind Is Active
“I have been telling them from a long time that the badmind ting and trying to hold down each other as artiste will not take you up the ladder. I have hit the billboard twice with quality songs that the world can relate to and these songs were not throwing words at no one. I have earned my self seven number one songs excluding These Are The Days, and at the end of the day it all has to do with quality songs and the hard work you put in,” he said.
“When some guys a act like them badda than this thing and bigger, that’s where they go wrong, there is no way you can bigger than the music - just take your slice and low a next man fi get a slice to - there is no need to be badmind and envious, the time you spent player hating another artiste, it’s better you go sit and write some proper songs,” he concluded.
