OutAroad.com posted a story on July 24 reporting that one of Dancehall’s Reggae giants Buju Banton signed a contract deal with Gay Rights - who are heavily promoting the Stop Murder Music Campaign against several big names in the dancehall arena, such as Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Vybz Kartel, T.O.K. and Gargamel himself. So far stories have been posted on several international websites saying that Beenie Man, Capleton, Sizzla and Buju Banton had signed a three year contract pledging not to perform any violent anti-gay bashing music and should uphold a philosophy of love, respect for all.
Buju Banton’s manager Donovan Germaine told Queerty.com that he believes that the gay seems to be using this opportunity as a mileage for their cause.
So the question is - the gays are saying these dancehall artistes signed contract of not doing violent anti-gay lyrics, but so far two of dancehall’s biggest artistes, Beenie Man and Buju Banton have dismissed claims of meeting and signing contracts with gay groups.
Who are telling the truth?
